I am the “Gilmour” in Canada’s only touring Floyd act - I play these songs at 100 shows a year using a huge amount of annoyingly accurate gear... It is literally my job to make these sounds. And I can tell you you’ve done exactly what a guitarist who is actually good does - you’ve been able to use basic gear to capture the feel of these sounds almost exactly. Very well done :)
I recently bought a custom shop ‘57 Stratocaster from Peach Guitars because I’ve always wanted a Strat with a maple fretboard and a red alder body. David Gilmour has always been my inspiration when it comes to guitar playing. l was able to afford such an extravagant purchase because my dear departed Mother left me a house in her will, which l subsequently sold. She passed away from cancer on July 3rd 2019. And she always enjoyed my guitar playing. So l dedicate that stellar guitar to her memory.
This is sooooo good! If David see's this i'm pretty sure he'd be impressed too especially by the fact you're not a Floyd fan nailing every guitar part!! Well done Mr Talent!! Peach Management have GOLD standard right there!!
This is great because I am a Gilmour "nut" and always play along and just jam out with the great man's tones, songs and licks. It will be interesting to hear what this man's interpretation of Davids lead licks are going to be like.. And after listening to everything on this video, I must say; "very well researched & played indeed!". Absolutely A-1 top notch. It's a big thumb's up from me anyway. To end.. It may be paradoxically because you're not a David Gilmour fan per sé that you managed to play his songs very well. You were able to be objective about it.
We use our stock product images to display the pedals, we blitz through these videos as quickly and efficiently as we can, it wouldn't be time effective for us to photograph every pedal in every set up.
How could anyone that plays rock n roll not be a Gilmour nut?? Especially a Brit! The man has the most unreal fingers to ever grace the fretboard. Untouchable!
Nice video. Slight correction though... the Shine On You Crazy Diamond intro is on the Neck pickup, with the tremolo for the extra swirl and movement.... 😉
You are such a great player, i am saying that because you said you are not a dqvid gilmour nut and despite that you caught the nuances. You must make a video about your influences, like olaying what you liked and took from your favourite players!!
This is a great attempt.....nobody can get THE TONE.....but a closest possible approximation is the best idea..... Although a little bit of information sharing on the settings of the pedals would have been a welcome addition!! Good job!!
Funny that no one can replicate Gilmour's touch or tone. Probably the only guitar god in that case, there are some players that can mimic Brian May, Hendrix, Clapton, Slash etc very well on youtube, but never found one who can really nail Gilmour.
Someday the best kept secret! Who is Jack? Will be revealed! You are amazing! Do you appear anywhere else? Love ya here, but there has to more! Best player at Peach!!!!
I am about to sell my house and when I do I'll be looking to buy the David Gilmour black NOS Strat from *Peach* of course. This autumn I bought a Suhr Classic S Antique HSS and it is excellent in every way.. Can I ask what you meant when you said the ''D.G'' Strat was fragile & delicate?
LOL, "fragile & delicate"...? Other than the fact that it's a nitro finished guitar, there for a bit more susceptible to dings and scratches (than a poly finished one) like any other nitro finished strat/guitar, and the fact it's a rather "expensive" DG CS sig guitar, really no other reasons... 😉 I have the DG relic version since 2009 and ive literally played the hell out of it and back. It has a lot more scratches and dings than it had originally, but despite of being relatively careful with it (like all my other guitars), i just Play it... It's just a (great) guitar... 😉
Well played indeed.BUT, Gillmore never was a great guitar player.70s, Fillmore, heavy handed attempts at slow pentatonics. The song writing was fine BUT the guitarplaying can be easily mastered, relies heavily on effects .Can't compare him with Knopfler, Clapton or even Page.
"... the guitarplaying can be easily mastered..." -> TRANSLATION: "the NOTES played are easily accessible to an intermediate player" ME: the FEEL, SOUL, TOUCH, DYNAMICS, EMOTION, BENDS, VIBRATO, TREMOLO TOUCH and overall MAGIC can only be achieved by David himself... 😉 Thing is, a lot of wannabe guitar players don't comprehend that... 😉
@@conan5885 This is so true. I can play all the right notes, sometimes even in the right order 😋 but it sounds nothing like David. He's the God of emotive playing. Take away all the effects and production and give him a simple nylon stringed guitar and he can still destroy you with a couple of notes.

Any shows this summer in Montreal?
Vincent Tanguay We will be in Montreal in the fall, I believe!
Hey Josh, I've been to three of your shows. Loved all of them, and I'm a very picky and educated Pink Floyd nut. 🐷 PIGS 🐷 (Nanaimo and Duncan x2)
@@TheVampireKit Thanks! :D Happy to have you out any time!
Hi! Where can I follow your band? I'd love to attend one of your shows

When a video is so good you have to go sit in the restroom at work so no one will bother you.
You've done a great job with this. Very good playing -lots of folk would be proud to play DG that well.
Brilliantly played. Really shows your skill and is a fabulous way to demonstrate the gear. Well done Peach.

Always learn so much watching your videos. Really enjoy your personal playing on other videos. Thanks
So enjoyable watching a talented musician recreating those iconic sounds. Well done that man.
I am impressed! As a huge PF fan and gear nerd I must say that you nailed the tone!!!
Well done. Curious as to why you show most of the pedal knobs full counterclockwise rather than the actual positions used.

Because most of it is in the hands and head,,,,there is only 1 of the original (s)
by that I mean he is so melodic, less is more and the king of bends,

Nothing wrong with that. Good demo of some fantastic equipment. I love going to your shop.
Fantastic
This is awesome
For somebody who claims not to be a Gilmour nut, you owned this dude - well done.
Great job on nailing all these inspired by series guitar tones. Please consider Ace Frehley and Neal Schon 1977-1981. Thx.
brilliant
How do you get that mono intro tone on Wish You Were Here?
I know I can click the like button before even watching the video...
you nailed run like hell
That p90 tone was amazing. Saludos
Loved the intro Gilmour like riffs

Yes the ZEP was awwsome....its your style
Any color you like ?
I’m intrigued by the animal skull-like item at the bottom right. What is it???
It’s the last person who asked why we don’t show the actual settings of the pedals in use!
LOL. Thank god I don’t care about pedal settings!
Good job Bud
And I thought they were going to put the configuration of each pedal xd
Why not post the pedals' settings?
And take out the fun of figuring it out yourself?!
what amp was used on the another brick solo?
Silly question- what settings did you use for “Brain Damage”?
Great playing as usual, but now I know you are human LOL Solid job brother
I thought you might use the Strymon Volante as it would do a better Binson Emulation than the El Capistan....
We would've done, if we had one, but they're incredibly popular, limited in numbers and we've sold them all!
I’ve got the Keeley Darkside. Lovely Binson repro on that as well. Top job guys. Sounded awesome.
@@PeachGuitars I will lend you my Binson next time !!
Impressive for not being a 'Gilmour nut' 🥇
You talk about stuff in the studio but
That has nothing to do with his live sound
Brilliantly played, tone to thin though.
Waste of time without the pedal settings.
