    I own one and I have to say its a amazing knife. I have tested its abilities on glass, prying, walls, paracord, and as a survival blade and have to say its one if not the greatest knife I've ever owned.

    That knife has been around for years, and there is a reason it has never been modified or "updated". It's an amazing tool.

    A fantastic knife for a great number of things. I use mine for everything. Digging cat holes in the woods, chopping, splitting, used it to pry a car door for a lady who was having a asthma attack and locked her keys inside(+a coathanger) it's a full on Billy club for ending small game/fish. It will pound a nail, break glass, chop straight through a cheap bicycle cable lock. I ride motorcycles everywhere and always keep it on the bike. It works as a second stand to wedge my bike on when addressing a flat. I've used it to dig up wild onions, flip burgers on the grill(most of the coating is gone) its a fantastic tool and I'm not using it as intended. Lol use the rope cutter to pull tent stakes.

    I have version #2 A GREAT KNIFE/TOOL. A small (but long) tree had fallen by my work and blocked my path home. . . . In about four minutes, it was toast ! and I was on my way. I consider this one fantastic, along with my Kukri !!!! be safe everyone.

  • @jmtnvalley
    @jmtnvalley 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, I was interested enough to check this tool out and started reading the reviews. Most are 5 of 5, however I've noticed a trend. It appears that the blade is designed primarily for right handed folks. We lefties are, once again, left out. Too bad. I was considering getting one.

    Hey David could you possibly take a look the Ontario Rat 7. It's a good, strong, and rugged survival knife for a good price. Thanks

  • @220904416
    @220904416 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    David, as a hypothetical scenario, what knife would you recommend for a strictly urban survival setting?
    Say that everyone somehow vanishes and you're left in a ghost town/city with marauders and the like. What one knife would you ideally want to have?
    I live in a large city and a suggested knife I could do research on would help immensely to further my already lacking BOB.

    • @futuresonex
      @futuresonex 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not David, but the Leatherman Charge TTi & the matching bit set would be my first choice for urban survival. The Crunch & the Super Tool 300, also Leathermans, would make good candidates as well. The BK3 discussed here wouldn't be a bad choice for a tool/weapon combo, and a good tomahawk would be even better. For more of a fighting knife the Mercworx Equitorian Chili is about as good as it gets, pricey though ($500 with S30V or $450 with 154CM blade steel). Still, a Leatherman and a good crowbar, maybe with a tomahawk like the Cold Steel Rifleman's Hawk to along with them, would be my choices for urban survival.

    • @MichaelMixson
      @MichaelMixson 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      go through every hardware store and gun shop in your city and look for the most common knife one that they all have or at least most have and then buy one because in the situation you are talking about if you have a 2 or 3 hundred dollar knife and it goes running off in the gut of one of your marauders at that point its a safe bet amazon aint gonna be working and you are SOL as far as a knife DONT BUY THE CAMILLUS CARNIVORE but a fiskars machete would be a good cheap easy to replace weapon and some have saw backs so you can use it to process large game and will do damage coming out if you have to stab someone/thing!!!!!!!

    • @uberbeast625
      @uberbeast625 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not david but I can tell you the knife and tools I keep in my Urban BOB.
      1. SOG ops is my fixed blade knife of choice. light, easy to pack, good size blade, easily replacable if lost (its cheap in other words), and it holds a damn good edge
      2. Lutz screwdriver with multiple drivers and a ratchet feature, damn near indestructible. I carry two
      3. pair of vise grips. not the shitty kind, good IRWIN's.
      4. estwing 15 inch pry bar. INDESTRUCTIBLE
      5. BUCK 110, Legendary
      weighs about 20 pounds. throw in some, flex cuffs, chem lights, road flares, a Large mag light, good heavy duty rope, climbing grade carabiners, poncho, a first aid kit, and a fire kit, maybe a sleeping bag or blanket and you have a good BOB

    • @jeffkohls3496

      Mr. Becker’s scales are the best in the business. The stock plastic feels cheap but works. They are easily upgraded with wood or synthetic materials. The additional price still makes a Becker a bargain compared to everything else. Nothing but respect for Mr. Becker. He is a treasure and a legend. I would love to pick his brain over a couple of fine whiskies.
