I've been to african countries and can say that I feel so sorry for such people who have an abundance of resources but incompetent cowardly leaders and officials who don't ont care about the land or the indigenous native people. It's the people who must recognized the problems and demand changes.

Cape Town has always been Europe literally still a British Colony but it’s becoming more filled with white Americans who overstay like most Europeans in Africa already. White Americans are just joining in droves which is what I noticed in Botswana too.
It won’t be noticed for years since other Africans as we know are the targets.
From visiting Cape Town I notice that the local Africans can’t even live in decent neighbourhoods unless it’s one in a million because they also keep upper class areas “white” with gentrification.
It’s literally Europe with a better aesthetic, better weather, cheaper property and better quality of life.
It will only get worse as more from the West (Europe, America, Canada) flee to many nations outside and especially the East (Africa,Asia,Middle East and at times South America or Eastern Europe) to live decent lives outside of the West especially with remote work etc
Africa is becoming gentrified especially Southern Africa while the West declines.

Another issue I have is that people around the world need to be more proactive economically and stop being victims. Migration is human nature. Digital nomads work online, which allows them to travel around, and that doesn’t mean because someone is a digital nomad they’re living in South Africa full-time. Many digital nomads stay in one country for 1-3 months and then travel to another country, and besides that whatever foreign countries that visit have no entitlement to their salaries via taxes based their income is foreign-based and they’re not residents of that country, meaning they don’t live there permanently.

According to the UN Global Equity and Climate Change Agenda (sustainability development goals) African countries are entitled to EVERYTHING that US people have, and the U.S. taxpayers are supposed to pay for it. Please send a note to the Sec. General, and tell him South Africa does not want anything from the West…it is gentrification and insulting! (That includes electricity grids). US taxpayers will be very relieved!! They are 33 trillion in debt. Thank you!❤

They pay vat on consuming goods and services, they do create jobs for South Africans
There are certainly no restrictions on certain passports staying up to three months. If they stay over the limit, they should get fined or banned. Don’t most comply with the rule by flying out and flying back in

Then there should be a tourist tax period I mean didn't Asia have one till 20 years ago? It's what they do they find beauty and suck it dry with no regard to those it affects negatively. It's a constant state of moral caution to the wind for these people, smh.

WONGEL, THIS IS VERY PAINFUL TO CONTINUE TO HEAR THESE TYPE OF STORIES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
Solution is to prioritize the exponential increase in HIGHLY SKILLED Black people in South Africa and throughout the entire African continent VIA INTENSIVE TRAINING/EDUCATION in computer coding, computer science, artificial intelligence via modification of the educational curriculum in the schools, community learning centers, etc.!
IT IS A SKILLS ISSUE WHEREBY NON-BLACK PEOPLE WITH ADVANCED COMPUTER-RELATED SKILLS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE THAT THEY HAVE IN TERMS OF ECONOMIC PURCHASING POWER!
    INDEED, THIS IS GENTRIFICATION!
THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT APPEAR TO BE VIEWING THIS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE THAT THE NON-BLACK PEOPLE ARE GENERATING JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LOCAL BLACK PEOPLE!
BUT, THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE VIEWING THIS AS WHAT IS TO OCCUR THROUGHOUT AFRICA AS MORE AND MORE ARABS, ASIANS, INDIANS, LEBANESE, EUROPEANS, ETC. WHO ARE MORE EDUCATED AND HAVE A HIGHER AVERAGE INCOME THAN LOCAL BLACK PEOPLE ARE MIGRATING TO AFRICA IN DROVES TO CREATE INTER-GENERATIONAL WEALTH FOR THEM, BUY LAND AND CREATE BUSINESSES TO ENRICH THEMSELVES!
IT IS NOT JOBS THAT THE BLACK PEOPLE IN AFRICA NEEDS!
BLACK PEOPLE NEED TO OWN AND CONTROL BUSINESSES/INSTITUTIONS - SETTING THE FOUNDATION FOR INTER-GENERATIONAL WEALTH AND PARLAYING THIS ECONOMIC POWER TO POLITICAL POWER!
AGAIN, THIS IS A SKILLS ISSUE AND DEMANDS THAT THE LOCAL BLACK GOVERNMENT INVEST EXPONENTIALLY IN THE EDUCATION OF ITS BLACK POPULATION AND CREATE INITIATIVES TO SPEED UP THE GAP IN EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE!
ALL OVER AFRICA, THERE IS RE-COLONIZATION AS ARABS, ASIANS, INDIANS, LEBANESE, EUROPEANS, ETC. GAIN A FOOTHOLD IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES!
IN ESSENCE, AFRICA IS SEEN ALL OVER THE WORLD WHERE A NON-BLACK PERSON CAN MIGRATE TO AND ESTABLISH THEIR FORTUNE ON THE BACKS OF BLACK PEOPLE!
THING IS, AFRICA IS OUR ANCESTRAL HOME!
    PLEASE BLACK PEOPLE, WAKE UP!!!

Here's a stop gap remedy. Raise the sales tax by 8%. Citizens of SA pay the original tax and the proceeds from the increased tax on visitors will be distributed to citizens.

And that would ultimately kill the South African economy. South Africa already has a high unemployment rate… so just imagine what would happen if all the foreign companies exited the country because of such a tax, not to mention all the tourists that would no longer visit? You guys can’t even fix your damn electrical grid and you think that you could really survive without any foreign investment/tourism. You’re delusional.

Its normal to pay those prices here in the west! Maybe if locals could pay lower prices than tourist this would solve it ? Tourism boost the economy so it going away isn't a solution to helping Africa.

The Western tourists aren’t the ones visiting your country and committing crimes… that would be immigrants from other African countries. Western tourists aren’t the ones unable to support themselves who create a strain on the local government… that would be immigrants from other African countries. Western tourists aren’t the ones raising the prices of everything… that would be your greedy local businesses and fellow citizens who intentionally overcharge foreigners, which thereby raises the price for everyone. Stop blaming Westerners for your own problems. If Westerners all left South Africa and stopped visiting then you’d still have all the same issues and even more.

We as South Africans should be embarrassed that these people can so easily enter and live in South Africa while ee get 0.0% of the same privileges. We are in fact treated like criminals when applying to enter their countries
