@Josh Money isn’t everything but it sure does help to have a lot of it laying around. It’s a woman’s game into their mid 20s it’s a man game at late 20s and beyond. A 30 year old millionaire has a lot of choices to pick from. A 21 year old has to deal with a stupidity if he is trying to date vs smash and dash

Guy here, yes, but if you wait until commitment stage to start talking about money, people start overlooking red flags. Emotions are already involved by that point. I think if you are dating with a purpose, there is nothing wrong with talking about core values, like money, early on before you get too emotionally attached and involved.

Go to a nice park, have your meal there, and then maybe take a walk holding hands. Maybe one of you bring the beans; the other brings the rice.

Now this convo is such a different question with a male caller. That's honestly what I was hoping for but Ken is more or less correct. Money talk too early on won't be good, but she can start to bring up frugal date ideas and make it clear he doesn't need to get into a spend strategy with the dates based on an assumption girls want that.

Thank you so much Dave Ramsey Team! I was wondering the exact same thing as that woman. Nothing sends me running for the hills faster than a woman asking about money at the beginning of getting to know her. As a guy the first thing that runs through my head is that she is asking "What do you bring to the table. What can you do for me." I want a relationship based on love, not on what I have to offer. I'm going back to college and money will be tight, so I had been wondering how to date while broke for four years.

Love is always conditional except for the bond between child and parent. As a guy if you fall on hard times, understand that the default for women is to leave. It is innately within them as a biological survival mechanism.
Find someone whom is kind and loves kids and is willing to have yours. DO NOT get married until your 30’s, if at all. It’s financial suicide for western men and most women are not worth that risk.

Awful advice for a woman. You don’t have to make it the forefront of your first date, but a woman letting potential partners know about her interest in personal finance could attract the exact guy she is looking for. If online dating, a quick mention would do. How many millions of like minded men would like to meet a woman who isn’t materialistic and understands the basics of money? Waiting two months to bring it up only to have to walk away from someone you have grown attached to is idiotic.

People show their best false face when dating, you get to know a delusion then when it gets serious the real THEM comes out and it can be concerning. Finances are a part of adulthood and bring it up gently into conversation can be a learning/getting to know you conversation. Maybe open the perspective date material to options they never knew existed. I say bring it up early in the dating phase and be your true self. Baby Steps are important to you, share that with honest conversation.

I think it depends on why you are dating and if your partner has symmetry in what you both want. If you both are looking to just have short term relationships that aren't very serious, it probably doesn't matter much how you feel about money if it even comes up at all. If both are dating with the intent to marry, then I'd personally want it to come up fairly early so I know if we are a good fit.

You can ease into the Ps and Qs of personal finance. I would always start looking for clues from the first meeting. For instance. I am a guy so, if I am on a casual date with a woman and she mentions that she likes to "go shopping" that is a red flag worthy of exploration. Does she like shopping for groceries or does she literally like looking for things to buy even if she hasn't identified a need? I'm not gonna ask for a bank statement on the first date lol. I want to know early on what I am getting in to before I start developing feelings for someone. The best way to gain insight without a deeper probe is to simply find out what each other does for a living. If they are a Doctor lol and drive a 2015 Hyundai maybe she is a keeper.

      @dedalliance1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

lol, I don't see any reason to not date people it's not like buying a car you can't just go down to the local dealer and pick one out whenever you want. If your babystep's, which btw never technically end and part of them is saving for your kids college funds so you can't have kids without being in a relationship of some sort, so anyway, these baby steps might take years and years to achieve depending on your situation so letting all of those potential people that could be the one for you slip by I wouldn't say is a very smart move. Now maybe you don't want to marry someone until they're debt free and have an emergency fund. But casually dating people is kinda what you have to do just to find the right person which can take years and years in itself so starting off sooner is better than later.

    Real questions to ask:
    Why did you get divorced?
    How much do you weigh?
Why is money important to you?
    Where is Dave?

I expected a guy on this call when I saw the title. "How Do I Date While Working The Baby Steps?" - as a female you go out let the guy pay for nearly everything, that's how. Then you also have the option to claim and cry that women makes less and it's unfair.

It would be more interesting if it was a man calling. A 25 year old woman is still attractive but if beauty is the only thing she brings to the table, then she will be in trouble in her 30s and beyond.
Most high value man dont want money, we want a woman who will cook, raise children, and give us bedroom fun. They just cant say it in the air esp with rachel there. Check out betterbachelor youtube channel for a more in depth answer.
