I came home from school each day as a teen in Nairobi, feeling drained, distraught, distressed and wanting to not live another day. I sat in front of the t.v. at 5:30pm to watch Oprah and by the end of every show, I was rejuvenated; I did my homework, I pressed my uniform, I ate my dinner, I went to bed with hope and I survived another day of being bullied, feeling misunderstood and unheard. My Mum was in Zambia, my home country so I could only call her once in a while, I lived with my Dad. Oprah was the mother's daily voice in my mother's absence. Telling me to go on. And so I did.
Oprah has been an inspiration to so many...many lives have been saved and have changed for the better. She continues to do what she loves most...talking (interviewing), producing significant films, providing free education, uplifting people's lives, supporting many humanitarian causes worldwide, inspiring human beings all over the world to be kind, generous and be blessings to others as well. She's really a powerhouse, a woman of substance.
@Christina Forsythe Well, she sure changed from when she ‘started’….just like most. But, of course she thinks she’s ‘different’ from the rest. She bit the ‘suddenly rich’ and ‘famous’ cake too!
I love Oprah and I don’t care what anybody said, she did so much. She did so much to a lot of people, sometimes you have to look on the good side instead of judging, she’s only human and sometimes she will make mistakes like anyone else but love her regardless.
No matter what you think about Oprah's politics, you can respect that she's still able to sit a across from a jewish or any other person and be civil. We don't have to 100% agree on things like the holocaust happening to just ... talk.
She pays. Her taxes and her home in California is expensive to keep up let’s go with feelings Larry so dependable Not. senetor John Kennedy was born in 1951 just think you cold have the first Black and a woman for President. Spare me the details ya sure .
People criticize Oprah all the time. But I appeciate the things she has done while on television, Oprah is a very blessed woman for sure. What I dont understand why she made white folk famous or more rich when they did not even need it. Black people her own race needed her help moreso. For example, what about setting up some places to help better your own people and black children. Yes, I know Oprah built the school for black girls in Africa. That is a wonderful thing to do. We applaud her for that. Yet, what has she done on a hugh platform in Chicago where she got famous. She has enough money to help build something for black people in the U.S. despite her other contributions I am sure she makes and has made. BUT DO SOMETHING FOR HER OWN BLACK PEOPLE LIKE SHE DID FOR DR. PHIL AND OTHER WHITE PEOPLE! HELP YOUR OWN IN A LARGER NUMBER.
Oprah commented that the store in Chicago said they did not let her in because they had been robbed by two black people two days before. And they said this is why they did not let her in. I DO NOT THINK THAT IS TRUE...They may have been robbed, but they KNEW that was OPRAH! And they knew she would not rob them, being a billionnaire. Come on?! They knew and Oprah knew that they did not want her in their store. PERIOD! BEING A BLACK WOMAN THEY DID NOT WANT BLACK FOLK NO MATTER HOW RICH IN THEIR STORE! Oprah knows this!
I love how Oprah, at her core, is an interviewer. I thought it was the cutest thing when Larry asked “what is it like to die on screen?” & she said “oooh, that’s so good.” That was a great question!
Oprah is so amazing! Her lifelong dedication to improving our society, her genuine live, kindness and generosity...she is such an inspiration! God bless her! ❤
This is so true 17:09 - 17:42 People don't expect u to be sitting at certain board tables, to break certain barriers. That's when u experience racism. I can tell
You do know that Oprah was interviewed and she told the interviewer that every white person 65 years and older has to die for racism to go away there will be racism until they die
I have known black people 65 years and older and younger who are racist so that how could Oprah say that all white people 65 years and older has to die before racism will be gone from the world she hasn't talked to many black people I assume
@@henriettawheeler7175 I despise people that play victims of racism and use that as an excuse to discriminate other people. In that case, it's merely a political power instead of a human right issue
Oprah is still and always will be an inspiration. ppl make alot out of her speaking to "a bunch of middle class white women " in her show. that is just another way of degrading her as a woman a powerful force to be reckoned with. Love and adore her.
One day, I came very close to Ms. Oprah. I wanted to hug her and talk to her, but that day, she might as well been on the moon. Love the wonderful woman! I love Mr. Larry King and oh miss him. His interviews are awesome!
Love this! It’s like 2 old friends sitting down for coffee- except it’s 2 of the most charismatic and intelligent people in the news/entertainment/popular culture! I could watch this 50x and still enjoy it!!
Oprah reminds me of my favorite author, Paulo Coelho. Just mid-conversation, she drops these gems of wisdom, easy to remember sayings, that touch you and pierce your soul.
I love how Larry interview. He ask all the questions that we would ask if we met Oprah. He even ask better questions that we wouldn't even think about asking....lol. Great job Larry!

@baby boo The store that refused to sell the bag was in Rome, the bag wasn't for Oprah, it was for Gayle's daughter Kirby. Around minute 18 she's talking about a separate incident that happened in the 90s. A few minutes later she talks about the Zurich store where Oprah wanted to buy a particular bag for herself. You may think it's lies or made up but if you're not black or brown then it may be hard for you to understand how often people of color deal with racism or prejudice.
