I had no idea that Maria and Oprah were such good friends; I always admired both greatly. For Oprah, I thought there was only Gail.

I absolutely agree! As a nurse Practitioner, everyone needs an advocate when they are in the hospital. It is vital when someone is not in a position to speak for themself or think clearly to even make the right decision.

Beautiful! My best friend and I have reached our 41 year mark of friendship. Seeing this gives me the guts to invite him on a weekend getaway and TALK. We do the typical guy thing. A look, a grunt, a bro hug. But never talk about our friendship. This has inspired me to reach out and say hey let's make space and fill it with conversation, meaning conversation. Maria, that "bringing a cup of coffee to you in the morning" was something that I learned/received during my time living in the UK, staying with girlfriends (they brought a cup of tea, of course!) and then we would all sit in bed and greet the day and talk! WONDERFUL and so nurturing!
