The Police RENEWED - Deathwish (FYYC’s Extended Remix & Special Video)

- Now that The Police, and especially Sting in fact, persist in their refusal (or rather fear, I think) to make that much-wanted new material, we - the loyal fans - just have to get that job done... So take a moment for this refreshed version of ‘Deathwish’.
Quite a dizzying experience to make this remix. I can't speak for others, but when I'm working on a remix I hear various song parts over and over again. More than ever I have experienced the rather hypnotic impact of this song, especially the second part after the break from 5:56 till the end works quite psychedelic to me. I've changed the guitar parts significantly in this half, and I've added some verses. Curious to know what you think of it.
Don't be fooled by the live video images; this is mainly a studio version remix. So what you hear is (almost) never what you see! The video was made only to support the audio remix. All images used are around on the internet. As far as I know this is the first remix of the song. I really hope you enjoy it; if you do, please leave a short message!
And if our protagonist(s) will ever read this: come on Sting, time is running out and what is there to lose? So get your friends together, go crazy and MAKE THAT DAMN SIXTH POLICE ALBUM!

What a good surprise ! Exactly the kind of song no one do a remix with, generally remixers make versions of hit singles... This one is an album song, not a single, even if it's a good song, of course ! Your "Regatta de Blanc" Rmx is awesome too ! Keep on remixing The Police... I'd like to hear a Remix of "Darkness" too... And so many others Police songs !

This might be regarded as a filler song in an album with 2 super hits, but frankly I am obsessed by its groove, and Andy's guitar part is relatively simple, but absolutely perfect. The whole piece has a kind of transcendental feel to it.
Just imagine if all sting's soli stuff was reproduced by The police with the extra touch of FYYC Guy , The sound of The police is so addictive,

All three have enough material that can be reproduced by giving it a 'Police treat'. Sting's over-arranged and sophisticated songs then get the indomitable uptempo’s and expression of Stewart and the cosmic touch of Andy. And Stewarts and Andy's songs are finally well structured and well sung :-) Isn’t that a piece of cake? But they have to hurry, because time is running out. So again....: come on guys, do what no one expects, but everybody wants. What's there to lose?

@@fyyc You'd never get a radio station in the UK back in 1978 playing a hard rock song like this that's virtually an instrumental. That's why they didn't release it as a single. They didn't need to - they had Moon and Bottle from this album, both No1 smash hits, so didn't need any more.

Well done, thanks for posting. I noticed Andy went from a Tele to a Les Paul-style guitar and realized it's not live for sure. Regardless, very cool and I appreciate it. My favorite Police era is the 1st 2 albums. Cheers.

This album is full of haunting tracks, the exception being 'On any other day' which is joyfully nuts ! Anything from a conspiracy of cups & plates to having one's digits cut off by a car door (God forbid) accompanied by a tooting elf-thing !

Hello, this is an amazing job from a fantastic fan. But, why do you add extra music ( no from The Police ) in your mixes ? Why ? I have done myself many mixes experience, with ONLY The Police source.
