Why is Sting pretending to play Andy's solo

Report from my trip to the hallowed grounds of what once was AIR Montserrat. Two words after finally seeing it "in the flesh." HOLY SH*T!!! It is in very poor shape. I went yesterday. Don't try to go without going with someone that knows the area and can get you there. As the locals do not consider it a tourist attraction. We spent about an hour at the site. The weather has been tough. After lathering in bug spray. Climbing the hill you see Sting run up was pretty wild that is almost a dirt road now, it's power lines cut. The gate with "AIR STUDIOS" is still there, rusting like the Titanic. Then the main building and studio. It is something that if you saw elsewhere you would avoid. There are warning signs that are even in poor shape. Also blue tarps are everywhere air torn in a failed effort to protect nothing. For me, it gave me a strange feeling of welcoming, yet at the same time a sense of foreboding. The whole area has a rotting smell to it. I did not risk climbing the stairs to the veranda from the from the side. We went through what was the main home. Into a vast area where many a dinner were once served. The fire place that once was a place George Martin placed a TV. Then out to the infamous veranda. I picked up a a half dozen pieces of it's once brown floor. The pool is a stinking mess of sludge and God knows what else . It is almost sickening in it's smell and you can't stand next to very long. The diving board is still there, angering me, lol as it should be saved but will suffer the same fate as the rest. I did sit and got a pic of me on it's edge. Looking left to the studio then right from that location was a bit sad because of the magic that was once created here and the clientele it served. I also picked up a few pieces of the tile around the pool. The awning leading to the studio has almost collapsed. it's pillars are all rusted and leaning. Once to the huge wooden studio door and the studios window to the right you can almost not see in or out of anymore. A ton of brush has enveloped it. The door was wide open and the jungle is now trying to invade inside. It's funny. Everything looks bigger on video and in pics. It is a tiny studio compared to today's standards. The room where "ELTSDIM" was shown in the music video is the size of a medium living room. I was able to get the switch plate cover that can be seen in the video in the left hand corner. The brown walls and cork board are still the same. I remembered seeing a pic of The Police back in the day covered that area with lyrics and notes. Now gone. The stark, empty mark on the floor where the NEVE console was, was sobering. Thinking of Andy dancing on it. To the left and right are doors to the main studio. A door, also to the right was where the piano area was. It's celery green paint still can be seen, faded and now covered in a coating of mold covered it. Into blackness. Looking through the glass to the main studio gave me goose bumps as this was where IT HAPPENED and was "conceived." But the studio's ceiling has started to cave in areas and you can see light through it's roof. But once inside, EVERYTHING made sense now being there to what you see in the ELTSDIM video. Andy left, Sting right and Stew back left corner. Again, in a somewhat small tight space. I got a piece of the maroon carpet from off the wall and some pieces of cable that served the room. Larger items were simply undo able. Like vent covers, etc. It has really been picked over the years. The back corner where Jools interviewed Sting is now a mess. But the hole where the piano was now lays empty. The original movable ceiling lamps are still circa 70's/80's and still hang powerless above you. I wanted to get the yellow one but could not reach it. The one thing that does remain strong are all the intricate rock art walls. Now covered in mold with little lizards running everywhere. Not to mention the biggest f'ing frogs I have ever seen, that hiss at you BTW. I picked up a few other small items and a piece of the studio floor. Then went to where the living quarters were. Once insdies it was like one day everyone got up and just left. A moment in time now forever covered in silt. Coffee cups, silverware, etc laying around. From now being there I could see the true intimacy of what a place like that could do for musicians. It is very secluded, and so quiet you can almost hear a pin drop. I imagined that VS the days of when the place rocked. I could also get a better idea of how a band like the Police and them now being "confined" could aggravate an already uncomfortable situation. There is no place to go to "escape." You are somewhat trapped. So I get now why Stew, Andy and Sting separated themselves in the different areas during heated events. When I was in the actual studio I could just imagine the arguments that must have happened. But at the same time I had a better idea of what a forced confinement like this could do to a band like that. And Synchronicity it that proof. You have really nothing to do but to hone your craft. Also still there from it's creation are the hand prints and autographs in the cement walk way. That was pretty wild. Seeing the late "Mal Evans" autograph was cool. I took a TON of pictures and video and I can finally say I saw my "OZ." It was worth every penny and the diving we did was pretty awesome as well. The one thing that I did do was bring my old Ipod and a little hip speaker and played Ghost and Syncho music while I walked around in the studio. Probably not heard in that space since 81-83. I was a true "Ghost in the Machine" but blessed the entire time.

A few months back, I lost my Granddad & before he died, he told me not only that Zenyatta Mondatta was his favorite (which is great album💜) but this was his favorite song & everytime time I hear this song it makes me think of him which makes me love this song even more & forever my favorite band😊❣️

Honestly, it's hard for me to listen to a song even if it's a remix that lasts more than 10 minutes, but it can't escape this version completely. I noticed that there is a small fragment of "On Any Other Day"... Greetings from Argentina

Someone will think that I exaggerate...maybe....probably...but as an old Police fan I think that these songs can be considered derangements in all respects. Exactly like the original ones that came out these days with "Synchronicity 40". They are not the usual remixes, but real re-arrangements. Each song maintains the characteristics of the classic "made in Police" song. There isn't an annoying step... the video is always appropriate and linear to the sound. We listen to some gems of live pieces, in Japanese....in short, a masterpiece! One day I will find out who you are and I always remind you that if you pass by these parts (...Rome) make yourself heard. I'll put on paid beer and Police music.... Great!
