How to reset DSG (DQ200, dual dry-clutch) in 10-20 seconds - SIMPLE TRICK FOR GEARBOX ADAPTATION

- In this video I show how to reset DSG gearbox in 2016 Skoda Superb 1.6 TDI with DSG (DQ200) gearbox. If your gearbox does not work as smoothly, it is jerking or behaving in some unusual way - you can do this reset yourself and see if it will help in anyway - it works for me - it may work for you too ;).
The written instructions are as follows:
1. Turn the ignition on, without starting the engine.
2. Fully depress and hold the accelerator in that position for about 10-20 seconds (You may hear / feel a click).
3. Release the accelerator and start the engine. (do not turn off the ignition prior to starting the vehicle as it will void the reset). - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

I tried this on my Golf tsi -09 with a jerky dsg transmission and it really worked, so glad i found this video. Thanks alot for sharing!

@@IzzurinZacharia When I drive my car and it shifts gear, especially in low gears with low throttle input, the car jerks when it shifts gears.
This is extra noticible when the car is cold.
From 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear its most noticeble.
When going from neutral or reverse to 1st gear it even slips on the clutch abit.
The problem was solved temporaraly with this method showed in the video but I think my problem is that I have to change DSG oil becaus the problem came back after a while.
I've bought new transmission oil and will inspect and replace the old fluid in a week or so.

How many miles does your superb have?
My car was fine, I was waiting on the parking lot for maybe 20 minutes whith the engine turned off.
When i startet the car again to drive away, it didnt want to move. Don't now whats wrong. Hope It can be fixed like that. I never had problems with it.

Works on Passat b8 1.6 tdi DSG DQ 200?
My A3 2009 7 speed auto was serviced where they had to remove the transmission to do the service and after that transmission started feeling jerky at low speeds (as if a beginner driver is about to stall on manual for example) could this procedure help, is it safe to do on my own?
and overall the car is driving in really low rpms by default which seems odd to me since it's 1.8 tfsi, i feel like it's driving in rpms suitable for a Diesel engine, not sure tho 🤷🏻♂️

@@alejandromoya9536 sadly no, this method from video fixes it for the first drive when you do it and then it goes back to how it was
Something I've learned after driving the DQ200 for a couple years is to deal with it😂 It's not a new car anymore, don't expect it to still drive like a new car. The transmission makes some noise and weird shifts sometimes, but whatever, if it ain't severe just let it be. Still need to replace the clutch if it's worn out tho, it's normal maintenance. Unless you replace the whole transmission unit, you'll always have to deal with some jerk, clunk, or rattle. Turn the music up and ignore it or just sell the freaking car and get a AT😕
@@Dankboi420 Yeah you are right, I just got used to it, it doesn't let out any weird noises, just sometimes happens to be close to a stall, otherwise it shifts very swiftly and smoothly, I believe clutches are close to being worn out and that would sort out the previous issue
I did this before and my turbo went silent at low rpm. Had to give more input in throttle pedal. Any ideas why. I have done this procedure on passat b7 tdi bluemotion 6spd dsg 2014 thanks

OMG, I drive a 2018 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDi with DSG, jerky in heavy traffic or below 30mph, waiting for the kettle to boil I completed this test on the car, STUNNED, drives like a dream, amazing, where do I send the cheque?.

Omg I'm so extremely excited!! I can't believe what's happening, oh such a great video....This actually doesn't work! You need a VCDS and with him you can really reset the gearbox!
It worked for me in my R smoother/ faster gear shifts and no jerking in 1st and 2nd, smoother power delivery.

I found working procedure (ad least for my Skoda Octavia 2fl 2010 dsg7) from one of YT channels.
1. Car must be on park position with handbrake
.
2. Press the gas all the way down
.
3. Start now the car, but don't start the engine. With the foot on the gas wait at least 60s
(I heard click during this time).
4. Now turn the car off, but don't release of the throttle
.
5. Wait now 60s more on the gas
(adjusting noise from under the car).
6. Now you can get out off the car and go outside the car.
7. Lock the car and unlock.

After replacing dualmassflywheel and clutch pack the clunky noise from 3 to 2 disappeared and ride quality and smoothness is perfect now. I still have from time to time some vibration when I'm downshifting from 3 to 2 (without clunk noise and jerking) and sometimes gear change from 2 to 3 is noticeable. Overall night and day difference after replacing both things. So from what I know this is a mechatronics problem but I'm not perfectly sure because mine is 2 years old 🙃 with new oil (dsg 7 - clutchpack is separated from mechatronics).
How can this be done in a keyless start car with DSG?
As long as you don't press the brake pedal when hitting the start button, the engine should not start.
God it's so weird to watch someone driving on the right side lol
It's actually even more weird to drive while sitting on the right-hand side :D rather than watch ;). I'm originally from Poland, so we drive on the opposite side (LHD cars), so I'm with you, man ;). But in all fairness - you just get used to it after a while and it does not bother me any more ;).
For us, its very weird sitting on the left had side and shifting gears with the right hand :|

Don't hit the brake pedal while starting the car with a start/stop button, the ignition well be ON, but the motor still OFF.

@@ethanmccrory1727 hi ethan, do you know if a remap holds fuel trims or throttle position inputs in or from the ecu different to a normal map. Im wondering if by the reset i have altered something in the ecu remap on the throttle input or amount of fuel injection if you are getting what im saying. Happy new year thanks imran

Not sure what you mean here. A remap on the ecu holds altered fuel timing, injection quantity, boost pressure etc.
Doing this will not reset the ecu tune.

@@ImranAli-zm6yg This is just equivalent to restarting your computer. It does not 'reset' it as such.
I tried this on my Volkswagen touran 2012 1.4tsi dq200, now it wont go forward when its in drive or sport, reverse works well, car milleage is 135000km. I tried this because of the issue when its jerky alot.

that is not reseting dsg. I have done reset through obdeleven and you can hear the gearbox makes noises. when you do this nothing is happenning

Don’t work in my Jetta tdi 2010.
This procedure does not reset the transmission.
It resets the throttle body.
Usually this is The throttle boby reset.

My DSG is skipping all even gears, so gears 2/4/6 are being skipped and the engine management light has came on , could this be a software issues?
did this happen before or after you tried to reset the Transmisson ?

@@TANK123cs oh okay you may have the same issue i had last year with my 2013 A3. My control unit
broke down after 2 weeks with the skipping gears issue. there was a recall for some 7G DSG models to replace the Control Unit and the Transmission Oil. i would contact the shop you trust

Lacze sie z Toba w bolu - mialem problem ze skrzynia jeszcze podczas gwarancji producena (ponizej 60k mil, pierwszy zestaw sprzegiel byl wymieniony chyba przy ok. 58k), za drugim razem bylo to ok. 110k mil
@@adamscarstories tyle ze ja mam dq250. Auto mimo iż 2016 to nadal mam gwarancje Skoda all-in. Dali mi auto z wypożyczalni za które Skoda płaci i 5 tygodni czekam na swoje auto. Podobno wczoraj miała przyjechać nowa skrzynia dsg z Niemiec. :) jedyny plus ze miałem gwarancje
@@-xYz--nk1gm Cala skrzynia bedzie wymieniona? Co dokladnie sie zepsulo? U mnie za pierwszym razem byl to zestaw sprzegiel, za drugim zestaw sprzegiel oraz dwumasa.
W zasadzie mozna byloby powiedziec, ze jest to 'naprawa' eksploatacyjna, gdyby mialo to miejsce raz na 150k moglbym to przezyc, ale awaria srednio co 50-60k mil to troche zbyt czesto moim zdaniem :).
Zdaje sobie sprawe, ze masz inny model skrzyni, dq250 jest z mokrymi sprzeglami, mocniejsza skrzynia, dq200 ktora mialem w superbie byla z suchymi sprzeglami.
@@adamscarstories u mnie było ciekawiej. Jadąc autostradą skrzynia przestała zmieniać biegi i wyskoczył komunikat o awari skrzyni i jej pracy w trybie awaryjnym. Po zatrzymaniu auta został mi tylko bieg 1 i żaden inny, nawet wsteczny nie działał. Jak zgasiłem auto to wszystko wróciło do normy, więc mowię może dojadę do serwisu skody. Po kilku milach problem ponownie wystąpił i już nie czekałem tylko wjechałem na trawę na autostradzie i dzwoniłem na assistance. Swoją drogą zabawna historią bo przyjechała laweta AA ale nie zabrała skody bo była zbyt duża i ciężka na lawetę. I musialem czekać na kolejną.
Serwis skody zdiagnozował po kilku dniach uszkodzenie mechatroniki- coś sie urwało metalowego w niej (tak mi powiedzieli) wieć ściągneli z niemiec nowa mechatronikę i po testach drogowych problem nadal wystąpił. I tu znów ciekawie bo dzwonię do nich co się dzieje z autem, a ci mi mówią że mechatronika nie pomogła i trzeba będzie całe dsg wymienić ale to musi jakiś główny inżynier skody zatwierdzić i chcą sie upewnić czy gwarancja to obejmnie. I znowu po paru dniach dzwonię do skody z zapytaniem co z moim autem, a ci mówią że nowe dsg będzie wymienione na gwaranci i dopiero 09/02 ma dotrzeć do uk.
I tak od 5 tygodni jestem bez skody a jeżdze nissanem z wypożyczalni za którego zapłaciłem całego 1 funta-resztę płaci skoda.
Więc opłcało dać się namówić na program skoda all in. Bo płacę 32funty miesięcznie i mam gwarancję/assistance/2x serwis i 2x MOT za darmo w cenie..
Gdyby nie fakt że syn w listopadzie mi się urodził to już dawno bym superba nie miał, a tak nie miałem głowy szukać nowego auta.
Więc teraz będę miał auto z przebiegiem 50k mil i fabrycznie nową skrzynią dsg. Idealna sytauacja aby auto wystawić na sprzedanie i w końcu pozbyć sie auta z grupy vag,
@@adamscarstories jest mały update z moim autem. Waśnie dzwonili do mnie ze skody ze nowe dsg jest już zamontowane ale jeszcze akumulator umarł od stania i kamerki w aucie. I będę za to musiał zapłacić. Ale po 5 tygodniach dziś odbierać mam auto po południu.
