    Very appreciated 👍 I have the OBDII and the Reset didn't seem to solve the problem. Not sure if you need to have the Trans Fluid Temp up past 30*C or not, but I did that anyway and applied your "fix" - and w/o any clunking or clicking in 30 secs started it up and problem is gone. Pretty nifty, thanks a ton.

    Thank you!

    • @DrivenTechReviews
      @DrivenTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From my experience when you reset it it takes a little while to calibrate back and learn the gear ratios. Long term wise it fixes the problem but at the same time very subjective to the temperature of the clutch. dry clutch is very sensitive to heat so that might affect rollback and also how the clutch behaves. On the bright side it shifts rapid 🤷🏻‍♂️

    About to try this method on a 2008 Golf GT TDI with the dq250 6 sp dsg. It's got a bit of a shudder from 2nd to 3rd under light throttle. Also replacing the fluid and filter, so with luck the shudder may go. Hopefully not the mechatronic or clutch as the car only has 22k klms on it.
    Update 01/04/22 ( no, not an April fool joke ) The engine is the ' BMN ' 125HP 350NM 2.0 TDI.
    I admit to being pretty sceptical about this ' fix '.
    So, today the car had new DSG fluid and fluid filter changed.
    Driving home, shuddering under light throttle 2-3 gear did not appear, still a mushy, uncertain gearchange though, especially 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4, and down.
    Did ' The Fix ' ( key out, throttle full, key in and on 20 sec [ NOT START ENGINE ], key off and out, throttle off after 20 sec. Last two points for the earlier year models ).
    Went for a drive;
    Well, car positively held 1st gear, then a positive change to 2nd. Previously, mushy 1st gear slipping clutch all the time and premature change to 2nd. Clunky noisy 1-2 and 2-1 changes all but gone. All changes especially 2-3 and up are quicker and quieter, with 4-5 and 5-6 virtually unnoticeable up or down.
    There were no clicks or clunks when doing the thing, i just timed 20 seconds for the on and off parts.
    Is it a placebo?? I dont think so, the gear changes are way more crisp. Time will tell.
    Do this at your own risk and cost, if something blows up!!

      I believe it will. No harm trying it. Temperature doesn't matter as long as you follow the steps then it's all good.

      @@DrivenTechReviews am do I have to press to the kickdown or further? So this will make smooth dsg? Because I feel that my dsg at cold days is not so smooth as on warm days. And the cold engine and oil same way. When gets warmer everything becomes smooth. Should I still try this reset or the dsg is like that when its cold?

    • @DrivenTechReviews
      @DrivenTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far for me temperature doesn't affect this reset. The inconsistency of your dsg is more of the viscosity of the oil. But I am sure this reset will help somewhat.
