Keurig K-Elite Coffee Maker Setup Instructions

- In this video I show you how I set up my new Keurig K-Elite coffee maker. I pulled it out of the box and plugged it in for the first time in this video while I summarize all of the settings and functions that can be accessed through the setup menu.
The K-Elite is one of the nicest and fanciest k-cup coffee makers made by any brand and although Keurig has a few newer machines in their lineup this coffee maker is still one of the nicest they make.

This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.

Thank you ! I got my husband one for fathers day was writing it up but realized that a filter came with it after I read the small billet of how to first clean brew it but the instructions never mentioned about setting up the filter first so I found your video !

You were suppose to soak that charcoal filter for five minutes and then rinse it for 60 seconds before putting it inside the tank. Then after that you fill the tank up to max and then turn it on let it heat up the water then set your cup there and just hit water no k cups yet. But that is the intital set up for this keurig. We just got one today at Wally world.

I absolutely loved your video because I went through the same things. I have had the expensive one, and apparently not using all the features I could have UNTIL my wife decided to make TEA. My suggestions aree, IF YOU LIKE TEA, BUY A TEAPOT, or you will have parts left over and never get the functions working like the older models.

Can't tell you how much I just learned...I have TWO Elite machines(and others)...had no idea it did the things you just taught us ! Ha! All these years...OMGosh....I can't wait to look at your other videos...I already have up the "Elite vs the Select..' I do have major question about the tall filter....we have 5 of them with the filters(they are to be soaked for 5 mins...then rinsed for one....).... Not one of filters bought on Amazon can we get the top of filter off with out great effort...squeezing and trying to pull off..no way...I had three neighbors try...no luck.. Next....not one filter allows the pod thing to fit in securely and get thing closed...seriously...it is not us... We don't know what to do... Next: The tall filters sold on Amazon...do NOT fit into the Elite...it won't click whatsoever.... Our original Elite...had for years now...that one...with tall filter does fit easily into water container and click on bottom things it is designed for.... We tried diff't sellers for tall filters and no luck. If you have any suggestions...much appreciated.... I am over-the-top ecstatic with what you have here for us...I've watched TONS of them....and bought at least 8 Keurigs...(actually about 12) over the years.... hope your descaling with the plastic bottled solution is made...we can't use the vinegar method-which works great)....Apologies this is so long.... If you know of the great July sales showcasing any models of the Keurig line...pls post links for us....Appreciate much. Nancy :)

This is very well done. It would be even better if it began by explaining that the Sun and Moon icons DO NOT mean you're working on Day or Night settings. As explained in Just a Dad's TH-cam, Sun means the time when the machine turns on and Moon the time when it goes off. Once I learned that, the procedure given here worked for me.

Super tutorial! My only question is that you had already preset the turn on and turn off functions on the machine. For some reason I have been unable to turn these functions on to set the appropriate times.
So does the water filter cartridge remain in there while brewing coffee or do you take it out once you’re done setting up your Keurig?
Is there any way to get more than 12 Oz.? Can I just run it through again on smaller ounce setting?
Have you done a video on how to clean the K-Elite? I cannot figure out the instructions that came with mine. How do you clean it with white vinegar when there is a reservoir on it? Thanks.

I like my kuerig elite , got dec 2019 only ever had bottled water in . With bottled water i dont run that filter ,waters already filtered . Bottled water is key in a year of use descale light never came on, i cleaned it with vinegar anyway.
Yeah, I imagine bottle water helps a lot but I'd still suggest running vinegar periodically if not to descale but to mildly disinfect. The inside probably never dries on these machines so it's nice to kill off any bacteria I can. I know it's just vinegar but it's still a lot better than doing nothing.
I just received mine today. (k-Elite) Is it normal to pour out less water than expected such as 4.5 or 5 ounces instead of six? I also notice that it gets real quiet after dispensing the water...and then makes noise again. Normal?
Is there a way to have it stay on 24/7 365? My last keurig stayed on continually. I'm hoping there's a way to get this one to do the same. I wouldn't need that feature if I could set it to stay on longer than 2 hours. the husby gets up early and gets his 2 cups, then I get up a couple hours later and want my 2 cups, and don't want to have to turn it back on again. please tell me there's a way to get it to stay on.
How do you use my k cup in Elite? I have watched a few videos but I can't get the my k to lock in, it just sorta sits on top of the dispenser. I even called keurig, but they were no help. I am using the newest my k cup. Thanks
Does the water button do anything else? Like any other changes? The main reason I’m looking to get one is so I can make tea without having to boil my water in the microwave for 3 1/2 minutes. With what I’m doing right now, every second counts, because I will have to run to the Keurig to make my tea. Currently it takes four minutes away from my stream, which is problematic. But if I can get this to make my tea in 30 seconds, then we are good. Unless there is a better solution to this. I’m also a little worried, though that if it shuts off in two hours, and then I need more tea a little later, I’m going to have to wait for it to heat up again.
My keurig / ice coffee. It starts to drip the coffee than it starts spitting it out all over my floor. Is there something I’m doing wrong. I used a needle to see if it’s clog. It’s still doing the same

Is the water filter necessary if you put in clean/filtered water into your reservoir? I wouldn't want to keep replacing this part every 2 months...
Has anyone had issues with this where it doesn't pour the correct amount of coffee? I've tried descaling mine and cleaned the needle with a paper clip and it didn't seem to fix the issue

Can anyone tell me how to use the STRONG button. It lights up on mine when I push it, but not when I choose the cup size or hot water. Aren't they all to be on when brewing coffee?🤔🤔

Is it just me or do some of these machines not need to heat up? I worked at a store where whenever you made your 1st cup, it had to make a bunch of noise and it wouldn’t work for a while. I guess it’s heating up. But then I worked at another store and it always just works when you need it. Even if you’re the first person using it. I’m pretty sure.
Hey Dude, pls, when you film, do it when the kids are not awake. They are REALLY distracting. The info however is very helpful.

Do you have to set it to turn on and off? I drink coffee throughout the day and don’t want to always have to wait for it to heat up!
You can leave on it will shut off in 2 hrs after last cup, i dont think u can change it.
You don't have to set it. Default for the auto off is set to two hours I believe and the auto on feature default is set off. You can disable the autooff completely on the K-Select and I you can do that on the K-Elite also. The auto-on feature isn't needed but I find it to be very nice to have.
