- The Keurig K-Elite is one of the nicest machines in their lineup, even with the introduction of the new K-Supreme Plus SMART...but there are still a few things I just don't like about it that I wanted to highlight in this video.

The K-elite is the best choice in Keurig coffee makers. I'm a serious choice drinker. Better than the newest models.
I'm not having any of the "annoying" things that you said, my top is not loose like yours, maybe yours came defective, I'm LOVING my k- Elite 👍
Yeah I am not sure about these things on the video. I measured the temperature in my coffee, it was consistently 185F. Love the K-Elite too!
you will, trust me. It gets looser than a streetwalker in Vegas eventually. Supreme Plus is massively superior to the older Keurigs.

As far as coffee not being hot enough, if I try to gulp down a freshly brewed cup of coffee it'll burn my mouth. That's a pretty hot cup of coffee.
I think you should of taken your elite back. My lid is no way that loose. It’s so not a problem to push the k cup down!! I tried 3 of the k supreme plus and all just stopped. The elite is the best machine they make, right now. Someone who has soooo many Keurigs should really know more about them.
I dont refill as often and my add water light comes on at a much lower amount of water
Just bought mine today. No issues with mine. The top is not loose at all. Maybe you should return it. I think I’ll enjoy it. Goodluck
Probably loose because he likes to puncture his k-cup first... I have one and it's no where as loose as his.
I got this machine for Christmas and I dont have those same issues. my lid is not at all loose like that
I got my first one and it was defective,they had me send back a small piece out of it, meanwhile they sent me a new one. I have bought 2 other ones since, just up grading, love them and it has hot coffee. !
My top isn’t that loose. I drink a great deal of coffee and don’t have to refill as he says and I use the largest size cup. I do refill frequently but not as much as he says.
I drink a lot of tea, so the on demand hot water was a great feature for me. My significant other likes iced coffee, so the combination is a win-win. And it’s so sharp-looking 😁 It’s worth the few downsides
This is an interesting response. I'm looking for a Keurig specifically for this purpose.
I’m looking for that same purpose. I don’t like how the elite hast to warm up for two minutes. Should I go with a supreme? Sounds like it doesn’t need to do the warm up but he says that it’s not hot? Is that true? I would think that it’s hot. It’s on sale right now in Amazon.

I have a K elite and mine's not that loose. When I put the lid up, it stays. If I bump it it stays up. There's nothing wrong with the lid on the coffee pod holder.

Kind sir, did it ever occur to you that you got a LEMON? It’s really unfair for you to steer probably hundreds of people away from this Keurig model based on your opinion instead of you first replacing it with a correctly operating unit, and THEN giving your review. There is definitely something wrong with your unit because the cup holder on mine is SOLID. I tried tapping it, moving the cover up and down, and basically doing everything that you’ve showed us here, and I could NOT get it to fall down. It stays put. Further, your demonstration of not being to seat/push down on the pod itself is ridiculous. My husband and I were both laughing. Yeah, if you had to push it down with one hand, you’d have difficulty. Why would you only use one hand? Readers, it’s VERY simple! You simply put your fingers (on BOTH hands) under the holder and then use each thumb above the holder to push the pod down. I seat mine this way every single morning and never have a problem, despite the fact the I have arthritis in both thumbs. Plus, our coffee comes out extremely hot. Do NOT base your Keurig choice on his review because he obviously purchased a defective unit and should have sent it back. If anybody here wants a video of me using my unit without these purported issues, please message me. I can also show you in a video how ridiculously easy it is to seat the pod (which, as he said, isn’t even necessary - some of us just prefer to do it). We think this Keurig model is awesome, and we are so happy with our choice! Go for it!
Not so kind lady, did it ever occur to you that this is the exact purpose of a review? That is, to give an opinion? You're entitled to your thoughts, and he is entitled to his. Has it ever occurred to you that reviews aren't always to be positive? It's all part of the review process, which apparently you have no clue about. Try not being so sensitive next time you comment. 🙄
Nice rebuttal ... I own the same model and have none of his issues. It makes a delicious, hot cup of coffee and I am hoping to keep mine for a long time. Oh, I only fill the water maybe twice a week, and I am a daily coffee drinker.

I have this model and I unplug it when I am finished. I make two iced coffee cups a day and fill up my water about once a week.
I've replaced my old Kurig that I had with the kurig elite. The issue I've noticed recently that when you brew a cup of coffee now is that the grounds wind up on top of the k cup. I've only had this new kurig about a week. And twice it has manage to flush up grounds on the k cup. When you mentioned manually putting the cup in so that it sets flush to the bottom but with this kurig your not able too. So I decided to do that anyway. Place the cup in the bottom portion of the receptacle hold the lower base with your fingers and placing a thumb on either side of the k cup press down evenly and little firm pressure and you'll hear a pop and your cup will seat down to the base then then close the top. I didn't have anymore issues with the grounds getting flushed up and into my coffee. Although I have not experienced the evaporation that you have and mine is on auto all the time, I've not had the add water indicator come on, my cover don't seem to be as loose as yours but maybe because mine is newer and there is a strong brew button on mine. But like I said mine was getting coffee grounds in my coffee and pushing the cup in manually seems to have solved that issue thus insuring a proper seal on the top of the kcup. So good info on the kurig elite which helped me resolve one of my issues👍
Refill it every single day?! I use a 16oz travel mug, having two of those, and only have to fill my reservoir once every 3 days. He must be using a 75oz travel mug. 🤣

I have 4 kids and a wife...that tank goes quick and i hear kids in the background of the video.
Tea, oatmeal, hot cocoa, lots of other uses besides coffee too. 👍

I drink coffee from the time I wake up until I go to bed so I have to refill it everyday.
Got my 4th keurig this week, have one at my winter home , gave one to my daughter , it claims the elite gets up to 192 , it may in the unit itself but no where near that in my cup. I need HOT coffee, so I think I am sending this one back and go back to the old way , at least it was hot

I'm happy to say that my K-Elite has none of these problems.
I’m on my 3rd Kureig and this new one is kElite is the best coffee maker yet is very hot and you can adjust the temp…192 is the high setting.
Looks like someone has a case of buyer's remorse, lol. My K-Elite does none of those things and even if it did, the pros out weigh your so called "cons".
I JUST bought a new Keurig. YESTERDAY And it was a tough choice for me. I wanted one that had a huge reservoir. I actually used a coin flipper to make the choice. And. I ignored It. The coin said elite, I went supreme. And not regretting it. This video just popped up for me because I Googled this stuff yesterday lolol. For our needs/wants, the supreme fits those needs and wants on the button. Plus the slim style, and the fact you can orientate the reservoir by on the back side? Nice. And it has a handle. My wife broke the last one that had the elite style reservoir because it slipped out of her hands. We could fill it with a jug but it just adds ease if we want to take it to the sink and use the filtered water. I was pleased to hear this guy also reaffirm my choice. Wife was happy too lololol
Could the high altitude feature be needed for your Keurig? I noticed in your last video you said you would not be using it. Maybe it’s the altitude? Just an idea. Not sure.

Love your videos. You can manually change the temperature in the Keurig elite coffee maker. Give Prima Barista Italian roast and Marley coffees a try.
I Just got one used for $25, I set aside my Keurig mini, and just used for the first time and it’s great. I like not having to fill up the water for every single cup like the mini. My gripe is if your going to have that many features/buttons why can’t it automatically just brew a cup using a timer instead of only heating the water
Mine doesn’t say add water until it’s a level around a half inch from the bottom. And my lid isn’t loose either. I think you have a defective one
Problem is you got too many kuerigs , just buy a breville expresso machine , if u such a coffee snob, or even a nespresso. Dont buy 20 kuerigs .
Just bought mine last night and did the hot water test. Worked fine. This morning it doesn’t power on at all. Also the water lid is super flimsy. Returning it today
We have an Elite at the office and at home. Our Elite lid is not loose like yours at all. Also, the add water light doesn't come on until the reservoir is almost empty. No complaints about the coffee temp either. I think you got a lemon!
However, a problem has just developed with the Elite at he office. It has developed a leak at the top when the water heats up. After an exhaustive search online for a solution, it seems that turning it upside down and smacking it a few times is the fix. I'll do all the other cleaning steps as well and hope it works.
We also have a Select at another location and find that it doesn't hold enough water and we are constantly refilling it. The add water light comes on too soon on that one, IMO.
@Dillon Mosier My husband took it apart and fixed it. I found a video where a guy took one apart and that video was very helpful.
You have a defective one, my water reservoir empty out before my water light comes on, also…. The pod holder stays open until I physically close it
My lid is not loose and stays up even if I bump it.

Mine works, but the display is stuck on time. The setting button does not work no matter how I press. Have tried everything. Has to be a certain way to press to reset computer?

I started out manually puncturing the bottom hole as that was a very logical suggestion. I do this by holding the bottom "jaw" with both hands and pressing the cup down with my thumbs on each side. I agree that the jaw balance is a bit on the touchy side.
Since I've only used the machine 5 days so far I haven't noticed an evaporation problem. I auto-start the heater 15 minutes before I get up (my cat has a strict schedule and is VERY persuasive :) ) and so far have had all my daily coffee before auto-shutoff, so the machine isn't on all day. If I want something later I'll just manually make it.
My note to David Bonner, something must be wrong, you shouldn’t have to punch your hole and hold on to the sides, mine is perfect, call them, I did and the problem was fixed immediately, I accidentally shut the button off ,that shuts it of automatically.
my strong button stopped working a few weeks ago will not light up any suggestions?
My descale light is on and when I try to cycle a cup the machine shuts off. I need help!

On the k elite , if you tried everything to get a hotter cup of coffee ... that means even tho you can set the temp to 192 it obviously doesn't really work then correct ?
I am supposed to be gone for about a week. Do you think the internal tank water will be fine? Also, so do you recommend having it filled with vinegar for the whole week to prevent bacteria?
I just purchased this for my mom and I am hoping she doesn’t have that issue with the coffee not coming out hot enough! Because it was expensive! Lol.
No issues with ours ..... coffee wasn't hot enough for me initially so I set the temp up from 187 to 192 and all is good. Any hotter would burn my mouth. Any source of water you have preheating for several hours is going to evaporate. Mine is programmed to shut off power after 15 minutes of use and I don't drink enough coffee to keep the water preheated for two hours. My "fill with water" light doesn't flash until there is teaspoon of water in the tank. Agree with you on the loose action of opening and closing. I disagree with you on this one but everyone is entitled to an opinion.
If the coffeemaker K-elite doesn’t even turn on could it be because there is no water in the reservoir. I just bought one and it won’t even turn on
I was in between coffee makers, my kureig 2 was making cooler coffee as time went by. I brought out my old Tassimo which I paid $48, and I forgot how noisy it is , but it made really hot coffee. I would have just kept going with it but their pods aren’t recyclable. I use it once in awhile just for that hot cup. I got the Supreme plus from Costco and I have to say I’m disappointed that it doesn’t make the coffee hot enough., even at highest setting. I like the look of it and easy fill reservoir. Now I have two coffee makers on my counter.

I bought this same machine in November 2020 and it just stopped working yesterday. The time still appears but it will not power on. Keurig is sending a replacement.
Lose the timer feature as far as I'm concerned. Just wasted 1 1/2 hours downloading manuals and TH-cam videos to deprogram the timer. Would be great if you could just unplug to return to factory settings. Elite...not in my book!
Here’s a little piece of advice. If you want to manually puncture the k-cup, put down the camera and use both hands like any other normal human being. 🙄

You're right. sooner or later manufacturers are going to get it through their heads- people want a hot cup of coffee. I've returned several coffee makers because they didn't make a hot strong cup
Use your microwave. They're not risking lawsuit temperatures, nor should they. Maybe use your noodle
@@ragnaroksangel the brew temp has more to do with coffee quality than safety concerns- percolators had much hotter coffee. good luck with the arrhythmia
@@Mike1614b Sounds like you should get better coffee. I recommend Cafe Bustelo. It tastes amazing in a Keurig and perks you right up. My heart disease is resolving itself in time, as they said it should. They did recommend that I do not stop drinking coffee, as I'm an alcoholic- benefits my liver, and gets me going. I drink 2 cups of strong coffee daily, and they said it's just right... I get maybe 1 episode a month of crazy palpitations and weird shit versus 30+ times a day. Cafe Bustelo: they'll fuck you right up on whatever level you need and make it taste good (wish I was getting paid for this). Run your Keurig on any temp setting you want, slap Cafe Bustelo in the cup, tell me that isn't fucking good coffee

When I lift my handle everything is tight. I think you got a bad one.
Why do you think that a more expensive coffee maker will be hotter? Cheap coffee makers still have to use a thermostat to keep the temp between 195 F and 205 F. Any hotter and it will be blowing steam. And colder and it wont extract the oils and you'll be drinking flavorless water.

Seriously all I want is a nice strong, HOT cup of coffee in the freezing southern california winters. I mean if it's 60 degrees out how does Keurig seriously expect me to defrost with a lukewarm cup of coffee. I want to see that steam, feel it, I want to BURN MY TONGUE on it.
2 replacement units later (one at the store, one through Keurig directly) I was forced to settle on lukewarm coffee due to their total lack of follow through when pandemic shut downs happened. They gave me enough run around that I was happy to have iced coffee I was so heated!
Makes a great cup of iced coffee, I mean you don't even need to use the iced coffee button - how's that for convenience?
You sir did not get a lemon, you just like it hot and apparently since Keurig cant supply us with cups that include a hot coffee warning like ole mickey D's can they just throttle that heater in there. You know, to keep you safe.

It probably 192 when it hits the coffee, not the cup. The K-cup would cool it down...so obviously you need to preheat your K-cup.
