He had every right to feel as he did after what he saw in the tower. It was a pleasure to watch him evolve and heal through the games. Fine writing IMHO.
Cullen, 18 years old: You won’t tempt me demon *awkward confession* Cullen, 21 years old: Oh, uh, you kind of remind me of someone *awkward look in the distance* Cullen, 30 years old: Uh, it’s a nice day *awkward laugh* Amell, Hawke, Inquisitor: What -
I am honestly more suprised that Cullen managed to recover so incredibly well. I mean, he saw blood mages being transformed into abominations, then he saw demons killing his friends, and in the end he was imprisoned and most likely extensively tortured(at least psychologically). And yet, here he is. Not only that he will follow even MAGE inquisitor, but he also does not protest that much against saving Mages on the expense of templars. (sure he will protest a little, but he respects any choice inquisitor make). I am very curious about how Greagoir beat some sense into him... By the end of the Broken Circle questline, he was ready to practically kill any mage he could(except the Warden, cause fear and maybe a little bit of appreciation for getting him out). I would be hella curious about what happened to Cullen between games. Especially between Origins and DA2.
Awww, he remembers and even mentions it! I actually was all giddy when I played DA:O as a mage (my first ever DA char) and heard some other NPCs whispering about this templar named Cullen having a crush on me. So I went and found him and he was stuttering so cutely! I swear I got a soft spot for him right there! And then the Circle business happened and he called me a demon and said all mages should die... I was quite sad, I have to say. I had been hoping for something then. I am pretty glad I got my chance after all, even though it was as a Trevelyan... By the way, your Inquizzy looks TOTALLY like mine, except the eye color and that mine has a tattoo... So watching your videos felt like I'm actually playing it myself! So thanks for posting! And now, onto the Tresspasser DLC! (I finished the main game just today and I never watch your videos before experiencing the scenes myself first so I finished this romance playlist only now...)
Too bad there was no jelous option, Inquisitor would get pouty and Cullen would apologize in a panic. Then she will just say she's joking or forgive him or ask him to make it up to her. O_
yes, he is even named "cullen" and if you start as an mage he appear multiplies times in that questline, for once as he mention here he is near you during your harrowing (he got as a mission to kill you if the player get possessed by a demon)
best part's got to be a female mage warden flirting with him in the beginning. she's all, "Heyo ur cute lets do this" and he gets so flustered he straight up runs away in a panic
yeah he is that's kind of why I feel sorry for him he was always just in the wrong place at the wrong time in DAO and DA2. It's kind of why when I play female mage in DAI I tend to end up with him because I want things to go right for him for a change because he seems a nice decent guy deep down he just feels like he's been dragged through a hedge backwards because of what he witnessed in those games
Sorry hun. I don't think he is. I don't have enough proof but when you ask Imshael to give you "virgins", he says he can't find any. He's in your inner circle, so he must have offered him at the least.
@@empressmondays7109 Imshael actually does offer a virgin, when Cole is in the party. Imshael then says "you probably don't want him". Many Cole fans would disagree with them not wanting Cole in that manner. (Personally I think Cole and Marguerite (nee Candy) is my ideal pairing for him because I do not care for Maryden at all.) And I just had the Imshael conflict yesterday so it's very fresh in my mind lmao. So honestly Imshael doesn't talk about anyone's virgin status outside the party you are with when you pick that option. So anyone not present could still have their virginity outside of the Inquisitor's companions. So "30 year old Cullen is a virgin" can still be a canonical thing based on these conditions lmao. Same with Josie too maybe (I haven't done her romance yet so I cant confirm that).
I replayed the entire series with a head cannon of Cullen being in love with my protagonist - each character in each game was a blonde elven woman called Gwynneth - and in my head Cullen fell for them all - its a fanfic I was connecting I guess, but each relationship was karmic until the Inquisitor - where all those past loves finally made sense when he met her ( and yes they got married ).... I'm so invested in this series omg... ^^"
Warden and Inquisitor meet Warden: I've known Cullen for quite sometime, I'm glad to see he's recovered well after what happened in the Circle and what I heard happened in Kirkwall. Inquisitor: Oh yes, I've heard about how you two "know each other." Warden: What? Oh I mean when I was in the Circle I thought he was cute and all, but it's not like there were many options, besides I've got my own Templar now lol Inquisitor: Yes, well if that doesn't work out, don't go looking for anymore templars, because this ones taken Warden: okay... well I'm gonna go. Nice meeting you 'nervous laugh' Inquisitor mutters under breath: Hero of Ferelden? More like Whore of Ferelden...
Good thing my femWarden went with Liliana... though my inquisitor went with Cassandra... I kinda want to do a fem elf inquisitor to do a solas or Cullen romance
I always felt as if Quizzy was his grudging replacement for the femwarden. Like,, if he asks a romanced Leliana about her relationship with the Warden, my own inner reaction is like "Dick..."
I don't think so. While he treated mages better than most Templars while in Fereldan's circle he clearly saw it as a "guilty pleasure", his "sin" that he had a crush on her, since it's what the demons used as a way to torment him. At the time he still hadn't grown enough as a person to see them truly 100% the same as him. It may have happened sooner and clearly less harshly had Uldred NOT caused the issues at the tower but he had. I see it as the Quizzy got Cullen when he was ready (even in the very beginning of DAI he thinks all mages need to be monitored ALL the time), sadly she also got the Cullen that was broken, but that's how the DA team seems to get all the men in the DA games. Alistair, Fenris/Anders and now Cullen. They all NEED love and deserve it far more than pretty much anyone else in the game.
This why I still wish you could still continue playing as your warden if they survived, dragon age may have upgraded in romances, but they downgraded in player choice.
My male amell will never forgive him. He could understand Cullen 's rage during broken cycle but not the fact he was second commander of Meredith. My Amell thinks Cullen just remove his templar uniform and hiding he is still Kirkwall carnage
@@SeventhheavenDK rly. Meredith was a bitch at the end of the game (3rd act), but in the 2nd act I'd say that she's truly "shines like a sun, but has a heart of ice". I liked her strongly before she created this red lyrium sword of hers. It's no wonder why Cullen tried to follow her lead. And what really matters, is that Cullen realized his mistakes and turned to be a good guy. And Meredith. If she knew about Pharamond' research... I believe she would gladly accept his method.

I will never stop seeing that awkward look
"Was there ever anything there?"
(Cue mass giggling from fangirls who installed the romance mod)
I like to think my Warden never blamed him, given all that happened.
Yeah I'd like to think my warden's realise he was under a lot of stress and not sure how to best handle it.
Well, it is YOUR Warden, you pretty much can decide how he/she feels about the matter.
I certainly don’t. It doesn’t excuse him, but I understand. He was afraid
"Lovely"???
Trevelyan resists the urge to scream.
Not gonna lie it still sounds like he has some feelings towards the warden still... My inquisitor (me lol) was a little jealous lol
Yes He had. Or at least he admired her.
can we come to agree we are jealous of ourselves

I don't think Cullen was a virgin. Even during the "sex" scene you could see how sure he was about what he was doing, unlike Alistair for instance.
The growth of this man🥲
I just remembered that Cullen was part of the Kirkwall circle too
