Two questions? Any specific type of screws to be used when attaching the ready flashing? I'll be securing the flashing into studs. Do you recommend putting silicone over the screw heads that go through the flashing into the studs prior to putting on the backer board? This is in addition to the bead of silicone you apply to the flashing prior to installing the backer board.
You can use any waterproof screw to fasten the flashing to your studs. Screw through the flashing and not the pan. I like to put silicone over the screwhead to seal it off. We also recommend a bead of sealant on the flashing before mounting your wall boards.
