The very fact it was an actual thought in the mind of some big people at Capcom gives a good idea of how the staff in the 90s wasn't so brilliant and perfect as the nostalgic old fans make it look like; and how MK's graphics revolution gave a strong impression to those jp devs, even though they were powerful enough in their own style which was about to start its own graphics revolution (Darkstalkers anime style, ported to Marvel, SF, Jojo, etc).
@@carlosaugusto9821 It proves management is stupid and that the people who really made the company great were the workers (developers, artists) like almost every other company in existence.
Honestly outside of some of the obvious jank, my favorite thing in this game is how sometimes the game randomly gives you "guts" so you eat a super and maybe even one more hit and not die just because the game feels like it lol.
To be totally honest the juggle combos are kinda fun. It's a different experience from SF2 at least, which iirc was their only available SF... SFA came later. It also gave the fg industry a good lesson (as an anti example) about how to handle juggles. The combos were broken? Yeah but everything was broken in the early and mid 90s. The games without broken juggle combos had broken combos in whatever other ways... Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, World Heroes, Fighter's History, etc. If people don't dare to experiment the genre will become repetitive and rot away in dullness (even if it doesn't literally die).
There's a huge difference between being "broken" and being downright garbage, though. World Heroes and Fighters H may be "broken" in some ways but they're well made games, while this game is objectively rotten. It's an example of terrible and incompetent design (aesthetic and technical). It handles like a cross between Time Killers, Pit Fighter, and Body Blows, and with the same level of hit detection.
I stand by the console port of this game being a fun/different alternative to Super SF2. The arcade game is ridiculously busted and fun as hell in its own way (like if SSF2 had a baby w NBA Jam).
Every character in this game is a boss character. Justin doing a 100% tatsu juggle combo in the first match and still complaining about the computer being cheap is hilarious.
Capcom give us this Beautiful Disaster of a game to modern consoles! We need this jank fun abomination of a game! Hell release it on April Fool's Day for all I care
If capcom knew what was up, they’d just release an arcade1up version of this that’s arcade…”perfect.” It’s enough of a meme that they could make money on it. Finally.
i swear Justin Cann pull off a "Timeout" win even on games like Divekick the mirror match was at like 100 mph intensity and he still wins by timeout All Hail The King of playing Lame xD
We all know the best thing that came up from this game is seeing Kylie Minogue wearing a leotard 😍😏 Also, I must say I really like Akuma's fighting stance in this game. Much better than his stance from the other games
LOL. yeah, the arcade version of Street Fighter: The Movie is jank fun due to the stupid juggles you can do that can potentially lead to an infinite combo, and you can also juggle your opponent after draining their health (however if you try a grab and they tech that in the way of setting themselves free, they will have an etra chance to make a comeback, so there's that fact you have to be careful if you try a grab at that moment).
If I recall correctly each level of counter grab requires a special command. I know at least the first one requires a character specific counter. Then the third counter(?) is SLAMMASTER which can't be countered.
He's one of the GOATs for sure, but he beats the AI in these games by cheating them back, lol. He relied heavily on Akuma's broken air fireball here. The few characters that gave him trouble all did so for very specific reasons (Cammy did well against him since she can low profile through that stuff, Balrog's more defensive, counter-rush style gave him a chance, and Akuma did well in the mirror because it's cheap against cheap). Now that I think about it, Cammy also did well against Akuma in SF4 and PR Balrog's Balrog forced Infiltration to switch out his Akuma for Hakan at EVO 2013. Seems like they're just built to do well against Akuma.
You're acting like beating the AI is an achievement. lmao Maximilian does this shit on _Boss Rage_ all the time. I've been doing it for literally years. JWong hasn' t been playing many SNK games, so he's not really facing the hardest. Not by a long shot.
@@_Jay_Maker_ he plays all kindsa games, and max is just as good. Max just plays specific games instead of tons of diff stuff. Justins an elite player period, not just against the comp too.
@@_Jay_Maker_ This. I'm a good player, but I used to beat SFA on difficulty 8 without a round lost and all perfects, with Sodom, simply because I'd figured out a way to exploit the system. Like for example, I could bait out a DP or Max Super DP my jumping back and doing hk.
Is Cammy just naturally a hard counter to Akuma? Because I remember playing SF4 and I always had a tough time with Cammy and had to change my approach to her. I never played SF5, so...
Sheng Long was still the placeholder name for Goukis brother...Gouken. Of course in earlier lore, that is not cannon anymore...Sheng Long/Gouken was corrupted by the dark haudo and became Gouki/Akuma.
I much prefer this one over the console port. It is fun! In fact, there is a community that plays it very often. I like to watch those online matches. Blade for SF6
Street Fighter: The Movie (Arcade) had very likely served as the influence for how Combo Juggling was handled for Street Fighter V's Mysterious Mod, I often associate the mechanic with this entry because of how well SF: TM managed to deliver this mechanic on the engine that this was built on and to witness this be replicated in V delivers to me hope that future mods of Ultra IV and the eventual Definitive Edition of VI will be able to do in kind; this is also the title that would debut the standard for each character to have Two or more Supers at their disposal prior to its implementation in Alpha III and the Health Boost/Rejuvenation ability that can be done by sacrificing your Super Meter would carry over to EX III and Street Fighter III, overall these additions made these titles and subsequently Mysterious Mod incredibly Technical and I personally do not feel that Capcom and the fanbase would have willing implemented these had SF: TM's Arcade build not existed, some may joke about its presence but its impact remains to be one of the most important one~offs that we need to witness get revisited at the First Party level.
I remember in an issue of Disney Adventures (remember that magazine?) they were interviewing JCVD when he was promoting Street Fighter the movie, and he announced this game as Street Fighter 3. I remember as a kid being excited about it. Now looking back, that idea was batshit! 😂😂😂
When guile was getting hit by the tatsumaki it reminded me of Jean Claude dancing in kickboxer lol
"Kylie, Kylie Minogue a.k.a Cammy. She was giving me the work."
Why is that bad? That sounds like one hell of a night to me, man......
Justin definitely gonna be sleeping knowing Zangief could grab him from behind at any moment...
Zangief is scary af in this game lmao
How crazy is it that at one point, the madmen at Capcom actually considered calling this abomination Street Fighter 3?
That'd be the craziest shit in SF history! Thank God it didn't happen.

This game is sick and super fun if you can get past the aesthetic.
Broken=better.
@@scaleitback1055 Broken CAN mean good, but this game blows lol.
That Cammy juggle was hilarious 😂
Cammy with heals and grenades is the work of evil lmao
Straight ridiculous
with heels on too...
You had me dying on all the randomness. Too good, lmao. And then "I tried to do the computer combo"...🤣I don't blame you Justin.
2:36 - That's the ABSOLUTE correct face for what just happened
The announcer gets even funnier if you know the throw counter counters. "Counter-reversa-SLAAAAM MASSTERRRR!"
I couldn't figure out who Kylie Mino was then I finally figured out he meant Kylie Minogue.
I have a feeling without that infinite tatsu, this game would be impossible to beat on the hardest difficulty.
Probably, but it unironically looks fun with 2 people
The grenade. The whip command grab. The grenade. The low-profile super that ducks fireballs.
Where has this Cammy been?
Cammy became Whip from KOF, or at least close
"Kylie Minogue just destroyed me"... Nostalgia moment hearing those words xD...
The funny thing about the throw mechanics is that even if Justin "reversed" the Throw Counter, the AI would have just turned it into a Slammaster lol
Zangief just straight up grabbed your gravitational pull rather than your actual body. That was WILD.
Wong: "How did she throw a grenade?!"
Me: 1:She's Delta Red 2: Video Game Logic
For the record, in case Justin didn't know: Balrog's standing block auto-reflects projectiles. Just because.

I would love to see a Kylie Minogue Reaction Video to this.
Take note new devs. This how u make a balanced game
13:35 Justin just experience the Raging Demon 😂
I remember playing this game a couple of times. Absolutely loved it for all the jank. It's just one big exploit battle.

That random number over Balrog head was the amount of headbutts he gave you in the grab

Game had unwritten Ultra Combos LOL

Kylie be singing 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' for sure. 😄

Justin doing a 100% tatsu juggle combo in the first match and still complaining about the computer being cheap is hilarious.
Justin: He's just so lame! (throws out millionth air fireball....)
You should see some TAS runs of this game. Also, is Remy related to Manon in any way?
The tas are amazing. They make the CPU die like 10 times
Justin out here trying to get people to watch that movie again to see if they really did miss Akuma selling fruit.

You can counter the counter grab. I've seen it done. Anyway, this game is so unbalanced that it hurts.
If you do it enough times you get the Infamous SLAMMASTER
Lol this game is kusoge to its core but it makes it kind of endearing
If I recall correctly each level of counter grab requires a special command. I know at least the first one requires a character specific counter. Then the third counter(?) is SLAMMASTER which can't be countered.
8:10 that is actually an ancient gamepro meme on SF, If they made that into reality then SHENG LONG IS REAL JEROME!!!!
This game is an embodiment of
" Where the hell did my brain go? Oh...it's there laughing in the dark "
Justin has to get on Shaolin vs Wutang.
Wouldn't mind seeing Cammy get that rope attack, it looks cool.
2:58 nice unexpected non gory MK reference
Very good Justin you won in the end this game was tough but somehow you made it through
