That spinning shuriken thingy is the ninja's move from World Heroes... And Kim definitely got some of them poor man Ryo moves. The sound effects are Art of Fighting all day.
N commando be looking like Jason Vorhees joined the US military. Or he's the guy from Splatter House.
A lot of these jank fighting games warrant a "What were you smoking?" Award.
The game mechanics have zero consistency and logic.
That was some jank 🤣 Master Taekuk had me dying at 9:05 with comboing fireball>fierce to set up the unblockable dive, and then Karate Kenji came out using geometry like he's Charlotte from SamSho 🤣

Outside of Karate Kenji (obviously?), everyone in Fight Fever uses Taekwondo. EVERYONE. Toss a basketball? Taekowndo. Stretchy arms? Taekwondo. But Ultra Backdrop? That's karate, buddy.
When Taekuk's arms stretch, they are literally tearing in the middle...
Fight Fever is (very appropriately) a fever dream, makes perfect sense.

There are A LOT of hidden MS-DOS fighting games out there. Some of them have been remade in MUGEN, like Tough Guy: Fighting Titans. Most of them come from China, Taiwan and Korea.

Get the characters from Battle Of The Eras in Mugen.
Something that many doesn't know is that we could have had Fight Fever characters in The King of Fighters.
In the "ALL ABOUT THE-KING-OF-FIGHTERS'94" section of the Korean Broadcasting Corporation's "KOF 95 Predictions," a team composed by Kim Hoon, Han Baedal, and Master Taekuk was nominated as "Team Kim'95," but of course it didn't happen.
What a shame.
VICCOM closed their doors in the year 2000...until just recently came back from the dead!
They even re released their second fighting game, The Eye of Typhoon, for the 30th anniversary of the company.

Hope the new VICCOM makes a collab with the actual SNK (I want to see Fight Fever and The Eye of Typhoon's characters as guests)

I'd say it's neck and neck with Lucky Glauber's forward + C in KOF '98, he actually picks up his opponent, jumps in the air, and throws them across the scene. Mad disrespectful and funny to see in the arcade

You have no idea just HOW MANY there were. The success of Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat was a big bang giving birth to an entire universe of fighting games. I literally go out of my way to find rare games nobody has heard of and play them, so now I'm naturally proud of Justin for going in that direction as well. It's a strange and magical journey for sure.

Before Jhun Hoon (KOF) and Jae Hoon (GAROU MOW) there was Kim Hoon (Fight Fever)
The name of all these characters are based on the name of the son of VICCOM's founder (Kim Kaphwan) called Kim Jae Hoon.
Justin will make any fighting game look fun 😂 Honestly if I saw this in an arcade it would get a quarter!! 😅
This game was made exclusively for South Korea, so SNK could have an official distributor for the Neo Geo in there. Viccom was the developer of this game and also the Neo Geo distributor in the Korean market.

Oh god, I remember seeing this played a lot on Japanese arcade channels but they usually just play N.Commando because you can have more than one projectile on screen at once unlike other fighting games.
Taekuk seemed to be broken though
That may be, but I'm not sure if he's a playable character or if the game boils down to being able to spam fireballs faster than the opponent.

This game's so jank and all, but I do have a soft spot for it. And for some reason its soundtrack has lived on my mind rent-free ever since the first time I played it

I hope they really are back, I would love to see a remake of Fight Fever, maybe a sequel or two. (And no, The Eye of Typhoon doesn't count as a sequel, that was it's own thing but I'd love to see that come back too)
