What do you mean by "tuning potential"? Tuning on the stock drivetrain? Because thats eventually gonna be your limiting factor.
Sander169 I meant that 601HP isn’t that much for a twin turbo 6.6l V12. So by tweaking the engine map(s) you should be able to add a considerable amount of power.
And if that’s not enough you could of course upgrade turbo’s, intercoolers, exhausts etc. to get to 525PKKS’s number.

Vladan Vukovic I have the last generation BMW Active Hybrid 7Li before this generation in the video and the replacement keep cost was $850 US. My key does not have the screen on it or anything that this key has. So I can't imagine this key costing anything less than 1500 to 2000 dollars US. Considering a base Astin Martin key is about 1500 and that doesn't have a tenth of the features this key has. So yeah. I don't think it's anything less than 2g's.

He missed a lot of really cool stuff sales guys wouldn't. If you have a tight windy driveway the car can remember the inputs you make and back out for you. Its a very impressive bit of technology i havent heard doug mention in any of the new bmw reviews, but he always spends 5 minutes on the gesture controls that dont work that great imo

But even with that system, the redundancy of having let's say 3 different ways to recline a seat, it having 3 different ways to open a sun roof still adds a bunch of extra needed harnesses to run the controller from center console, the back arm rest, and the wireless tablet. I would think each method will still need it's own input worrying into the module to be connected to the CAN system
Joe Days I don't think the redundancy makes much of a difference. It's computerized so it's just different ways to tell the system to do something. Maybe each buttons has it's own wiring, but not much more than that

And you don't have to go to the BMW dealer to get your fragrance refilled for $150.

Whenever I hear about, or come across a cool car (whether it be a super car, luxury car, dream car whateverrrrr) I ask myself "Hmmm, I wonder if Double D reviewed it??" . I've been following you for years now. And this is my first comment. Just lettin you know you da man!!
I soooo agree with you . He keeps things fun and lighthearted.
Please encourage him to be more about what a car does instead of features. Not all of us think that way and he's somewhat encroaching to much of some things that take away from those who truly understand cars. Long before he was around. Those who helped cars be something so he could even do his videos... are now being left out over features and quirks. Sometimes he doesn't even know things about these cars that many of us know... yet he's doing the review. Then that affect how others downplay the car and might even believe in a "Dough score". That playful stuff might be fun on the internet but it fudges the lines over true respect about some things that may be serious. It can actually affect the sale and worth of some cars unfairly.
Go ahead an defend him... I know these days it's hip to be only "positive". It's just the there's always too much of anything, even positivity. It doesn't help prevention of a problem at all, which is what I'm trying to do to help the videos.
For one of many things... show the view from the car as you drive. Show the car moving along form the outside... things like that. Don't exhaust us on hundreds of features when it's about transportation.

bmw will not make a bm better than a rolls royce because they own it. they want to keep selling rolls and bm too, or they would just scrap the rolls brand. it obviously has value for them so they keep making them. many corporations own more than one subsidiary and they don't just scrap the marketing staff and all other badges because it saves money unless they get nothing left from having the separate brand. the different lines have completely different aims, markets, levels of quality control and often even factories.

Why wait? The depreciation on 7 series is so bad it'll be reasonably affordable in 3-4. A lot of these have low mileage, so get a one-owner one and if you stay up on the maintenance, you won't have near the problems that you would if you bought one that had been neglected through 5 owners.

Been writing that for quite a long time now, several times. Of course diehard fans trashed me and I don't care... because Doug doesn't care and they don't care.
I only push the issue because it's supposed to be a review of cars, and I would think show what cars actually do. He's stuck some brief footage of the cars moving in the past, but not in many videos. That's the point. Above, somebody complained about not seeing the engine, and of course somebody backed up the video and showed that Doug briefly got a shot of the plastic engine cover during the "Doug score". Yeah it's covered, but peep want to see all of the car. It's about the car.
So I agree with you whole heartedly.
Maybe Doug does't want to bring others in on his youtube creation. I can appreciate that since youtube finally helps give many more people a way to make a buck without having to build a stupid corporation.... but it's still very cheap to me for him not hiring or asking one single person to briefly hold the camera while he zips by a few times? He ca't set the phone or camera on the dash somehow?
Then spends more and more time on "features". I get that these days many humans have been duped into thinking life is about technological features, but that's also ruined a lot of life as well. We've learned to pretend that business is all good, while it demands more resources and take a lot of time, is largely unnecessary, and confuses those who know it's unnecessary. Thanks for nothing Doug.
Yes I wish it was more about the car. He's a good speaker, but thinks we want to see his face the whole time. I'm not nit-picking... it's like, the whole f------ time he's driving!

I just watched this video and saw a 2 year old one with 25k miles for 68k that’s a lot of depreciation in 2 years

This is a decent camera in my opinion. Who cares if it's not 4K, you can see everything that's needed clearly.
The quality is not even close to other automotive channels. I'm not asking for drones or a production crew, but considering how much money he makes with his 1.4M subs it's outright embarrassing shooting on an iPhone. Investing $2k on a GH5 with a decent lens will go a long ways in upping the production quality...
