I knew you'd decide to repost this video, Matt
What's wrong with the Ammo ? Whoever is making them is not packing them properly
I was wondering if we could get together someday and go to the range maybe
please put at minimum a fiberglass barrier cloth with your cinderblock wall.
Your horns are flaccid.
That gel slap was weak. Just saying 🤷♂️
He needs some milk to become Kentucky-Strong™
lol
Scott, we all can't be as strong and cool as you😭
Not everyone is man enough to get blown up and then rehab back to 400lb. Bench press 😂
That knife throw could have turned out needing to put a thumb in it 🤫😂😎
The back plate is actually pretty thin titanium, grade 5.
Most of the weight is from the ceramic tiles and the varieties of resins.
I added the ceramics toward the end after not being able to find a better material and giving up on firing my own ceramic tiles (mixed my own clays from local craft stores and fired them in a microwave kiln you can easily order online). Everything I use is available at local stores or online and I'm able to modify or create in my shop. For test plates I like to maximize the area which is why I don't bother shaping them to fit carriers.
My next project is an attempt to meet level III with a homemade flexible armor.
Nice job dude! You made it to the 50bmg. Congrats!
Give this man all the upvotes!
Have you considered forgoing personal defense armor for a project or two and trying it on light skinned vehicles? The armor would have to be light enough not to strain the chassis while being deployed over most problem surfaces, while also being able to stop medium rifle calibers?
@@america8706 That plate was at least 12 lbs. Just a car door would be a good 80 lbs.
@@MichaelTotin blimey, that's impressive; depending how it goes, the military might come knocking for commission...
Matt throwing a knife at a gel block next to his feet and then looking surprised when it almost impales him...classic. It's a good thing he was safely behind the cinderblock wall of dangerous foolishness.
I love this channel since the first episode i watched. I cant get enough. Always entertaining in my opinion. Keep up the good work!!!
I wanted to see if Mikey could climb that tree 😂
😂😂
Me too
😂
Judging by how he leaped onto it in the first place I’d say he probably could.
You could feel the regret as it last more than a second 😂
I was rooting for him too
Congrats to Michael for making to the .50 BMG! That must be a pretty cool feeling to see your homemade armor stop a .308
I think the reason the kevlar "expires" is because it's made to a minimum "military grade" requirement and it doesn't take long for it to degrade just below that minimum requirement.
But it will stay reasonably effective for a long-ass time.
Bruh I love watching y’all’s videos between you Kentucky, Brandon, and donut I can always count on y’all making me laugh
FYI, when you put plate steel on your wall, I'd put it behind the cinder blocks.
That way the cinder blocks can brake up the bullet and the steel can fully stop the fragments.
It's also cheaper to replace a cinder block or two than the plate steel.
for broken up fragments, a bunch of kevlar layers might be just fine
i'd rather plate the front, cinderblocks and dirt are a lot better at stopping broken up tumbling crap than intact armor piercing rounds... plus then you dont have to replace the cinderblocks :P
@@ThunderbirdAntharesalso you don't want to keep repairing the wall. Probably nothing is ever going through the steel anyways.
I feel like he should of just mixed up some quikrete and poured it into the cinder blocks... Lol.
@@TwitchyMofo "Nothing ever going through the steel anyway"
Your area of US must be desert dry, because humidity in warm weather will eat the steel. Coating will only slow so much in that condition.
@@victoriazero8869 we're just talking ricochet. He's not shooting it. Steel will just stop that from chipping away at the blocks. It's also not a bridge. It doesn't need to last 50 years. Also isn't Texas pretty freaking dry?
I will never ever get tired of these openings
Between Demo and Kentucky, best intros on the tubes

😂
I will. Get to the point like Edward
Chimpin out!
"Your kevlar is gonna expire very, very quickly if you hit it with a rifle round."
It and I have that in common.
my god I have3 missed you. its been 6 years since i was able to watch your channel and you are still amazing
9:34 “Should’ve been behind our wall. “ as Matt almost shoots through the bullet proof glass at point blank 😂🤣
Jokes mate
Bro I was fr thinking like he had the safety on too was he high 😂
That could be a video idea. Shoot at point blank on bullet proof stuff. See how much of a difference it makes
@@boyscouts5000 that would be a interesting idea
You should put the plate steel on the inside so if there ever IS an accidental wall strike, you can see it in the concrete.
Plus I feel like if something hit the steel hard enough it would send concrete shrapnel like a newtons cradle no?
Also, he should make a peephole through the wall to lessen the exposure if he is firing by hand.
He could just paint the plate.
The reason would be more concrete shrapnel. Cinder blocks aren't great cover, there is a reason why they tell u not to hug walls in the army.
@@dusteyezz784 That's more because bullets like to hug walls when they ricochet, not too relevant when the round is always coming from the other side of the wall.
By far the most impressive home made armor you have had so far.
Fun to see the .308 H&K G3 in the video! It was my old service weapon when I was a storm-trooper in the Norwegian army back in 2003. We had the AG-3 model, though, full-auto :)
My 4 year old absolutely loved this video.
She yelled "3, 2, 1, blast off!" at the top of her lungs when you fired the .50
I get the feeling she would absolutely pee herself if she heard it go off in person. I laugh every time I think about that.
Thank you for making family time highly entertaining!
That’s fucking awesome bro
i'm no parent but i think you're doing something very right
When you started talking about the wall, I immediately thought a video on “how many cinder blocks does it take to stop a 50 cal” would be mentioned hahaha
Yeah sure Kevlar expires like drugs expire get the fuck out of here the only way Kevlar is expiring is if it all gets stretched out over a period of years like wearing it every day gets stretched out and loses it we’ve like it we’ve starts to come unraveled because it’s being used every day but it’s not like Food where it expires it’s more like drugs like prescription medication they put expiration dates on it but that’s just so you’ll throw it out and buy more that’s just the way they ensure that you buy more drugs or they make more money most people don’t know that drugs don’t expire pages see the expiration date ends think those are all very throw this out and get a new prescription
Hasn't he already done that video? LOL
@@wildstarchild6879probably
It would take at least two cinder blocks, maybe even three

Been wondering about this firearm myself. I saw it on fb a couple weeks ago and was like wtf is this cursed gun 😂😂 glad to see Matt got to it before Brandon tore it up lmaoooo
What, you don’t want to learn about it’s trunnion? 😂
Now we just need Honest Outlaw to do an honest review.
he fires one but...how about 2?
Kevlar doesn't actually expire. They just put a date on it because if they don't have a point where they have to throw it away, then the don't have an excuse buy new stuff. Typically expiration date is more the time period before they think it'll be obsolete.
it's more to do with wearing it, Kevlar doesn't like being sweaty (wet) it'll degrade the ability to stop the lead pill coming at you
Look at some recent submarine accident and you will think differently about any fiber stuff, be it kevlar, never expiring.
The submarine had nothing to do with expiration. You don’t use composite materials for high-variance applications.
Composites behave unexpectedly in pressure cycling.
And the expiration date on Kevlar is purely for insurance purposes.
@@alexdarcydestsimon3767 Kevlar isn't the same thing as carbon fiber

You could tell after the first ten rounds through that strange .22 that Matt was gonna have some fun with it. Thanks, Demo Crew, for the EDUCATIONAL video~!
It's crazy the effects that wall has on the acoustics. You can totally hear the impact on the recording.
first time viewer and this was so entertaining and funny .. the last bit when buddy goes running and shooting was hilarious. Had me cracking up
Been a fan for years bro and i was starting to doubt ….but this one brought me back my boii …. Need me some targets too😂😂
I feel like if anyone ever comes up with wearable armor that can stop a 50bmg the wearer is going to wish it just hit him. The force that would be exerted onto it has got to be insane.
Technically we could make armor that stops .50 BMG. The problem is that we can't stop it from killing you.
You can stop the bullet, but you can't stop the armour.
It's the equivalent to changing a finger jab to a punch but it still hits with the force of a truck
Some may call a tank "wearable armour".
@@Mr-Trox Facts. The vest would be fine. That whole sack of meat and bones inside the vest though...

glad to see matt finally in vesting in some safety measures XD

And almost got a ricochet from a knife ;)
He's gunna need it if he's running around his range with a .22 shooting targets at the same time xD at least he knows gun safety. even he does things that are unsafe at times, he knows the risks.
Make a small hole in the wall that is big enough to have all your gun barrels fit through so you can safely shoot from behind the wall and don't have to leave cover. Then make an armored lock that can block it if you aren't shooting through it but still need protection. Also, love the content and have been a viewer since watching your shooting the world's cheapest gun video 12 years ago.
That was the best intro ever!!!! I’m crying
"Probably made for kids" is a funny thing to say about a gun in a country that banned the sale of small magnetic balls for being too dangerous for kids.
Can't SELL them to kids, but they can legally own and operate, i'm not and adult but i own a 12 gauge shot gun
It was not a safe set of toys. Are you saying kids should die because of an ego about safety?

Small magnetic balls?! Seriously?!
Glad to hear you’re going to plate the cinderblock wall, that will be much safer than the blocks by themselves.
Filling the voids with sand will help a lot too...
@@MrFlathead45they are already packed with dirt. Not sure how much of a difference dirt vs sand makes.

weird how they made the charging handle ambidextrous, but not the safety lever.

The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.

You improved over time and that's why you got better, the idea
I am never dissatisfied with a good 'ol Demo Ranch Video. This video in particular, made me laugh out loud a bunch. There were multiple quotable moments, including:
"We're totally safe"
"We're even safer behind this wall"
"It's probably made for kids"
"If its runs, its probably good"
(INSERT COMEDIC "almost shoots through 'safe' wall" MOMENT)
And finally: "You get to enter to win a chance to come stay in my AirStream on the abandoned Ranch"
I cant wait until the DemoRanchRanch is open for paid stay by reservation. I dream of booking a weekend with my family, or just a weekend out with the boys, and to go stay at that location. Camping, possible hunting, fishing, swimming, hiking, plinking, and even just helping develope the property. It all sounds AMAZING
This seem to work really well! I would totally used it for home, defense. It has light recoil, if it jams, it looks like it is easy to just cycle it manually and keep shooting, and has 50 cartridges to shoot. Imagine if someone is invaind your home and you appear out of the corner of your bedroom with this.
Yeah and with some hot 22s, it probably won't even jam once, especially as long as you keep it clean and oiled up
Anyone else notice the cicadas stopped when he put 50 rounds in the mag. 5:10 They didnt want any of that smoke!
You need to make the wall a little higher and make some gun ports in it, or make one next to the glass so you can shoot and cover your upper body as well.
A SUGGESTION: Sand Bags will stop wild shots better then anything. Two layers stacked end to end lengthwise in front of the cinder wall would do the trick. They are cheap, work very well and are easy to replace. Just a thought!
I've been wanting to do the homemade body armor thing, but at least in my home I don't have anything capable of melting metal at scale (though propane is hot enough to melt aluminum, so it wouldn't be out of the question to whip something up), so I guess I can't make it in my home lol. I did a little reading on the layers of some kinds of ceramic plates, and it seems like some at least use aluminum for the back supporting layer. Denim obviously isn't as dense as kevlar, but it's a relatively dense fabric. Then there's the tiles, the ones in commercial vests from my read typically being some metal impregnated ceramic, but would regular kitchen/bathroom tile work? My plan was/is basically:
1) melt down some pop cans and pour aluminum into a small baking sheet/cake pan.
2) cut some pieces of denim from old jeans to fit, bonding them to each other and the cast aluminum back with epoxy
3) epoxy some ceramic tiles on top of the denim
4) if the baking sheet/cake pan somehow isn't completely stuck pulling the armor out since the intent was more as a mould than another layer.
More or less the same idea as modern armor, but also not quite right. Wrong fabric, tiles, and some scrap aluminum cast from melted pop cans rather than a nice forged plate.
The tart lemonade quenched her thirst, but not her longing.
My friend when I was young bought a Calico (sp?) 22 pistol at a show. It had a rotary well drum mag that attached on top and behind the action, hanging over your wrist. Held 100rds. He and his brother would play with it, and both said they couldn't empty it because their finger would cramp up before they got out all shots! LOL They also had a 9mm version with... 32rds, I think, in that rotary well mag.
I have to hand it to you Matt, the rest of social media is crazy. Here, we have a ranch with some guns, wholesome as can be.

Hey Matt, wanted to say this... I've been following you since 2017-18 and have fallen in love with what you do, how you have grown, all your ideas about becoming better everyday from the past, the struggles with everything but still making it. Concur, assume 'Mere or Jenna were like, um. No. I'd like to see it built up and over too.
I feel like having a table rig for mounting and remotely firing via a cord from behind cover would be good for some of the more elaborately harebrained tests.
Or for something like the bang-sticks, a basic pendulum drop rig would have taken away some of the sketchiness.
If you channeled the early MythBusters you'd probably not go too far wrong.
I wish Kentucky Ballistics would do the same.
@@RealMTBAddict Scott seems pretty careful with the sketchy stuff, firing it remotely and such. Matt was getting a little too quick to fire sketch guns in sketch scenarios with his own hands, lol. I just want everyone to be safe, and alive.
