What sucks is it looks like the second row isn’t on tracks anymore. Love that on our 5th gen with the 3rd row is that middle row can adjust forward and back to adjust leg room. Also allows the second row to be farther back compared to the 5 seat option and makes fitting a rear facing child seat easier
Yes! Our 3 row 5th gen can be pretty specious in the back row if the second row is adjusted forward a little. BUT, when you slide the second row back…. You get considerably more legroom for second row than the two rows. I never see anyone mention this and it’s a big deal for 2nd row comfort. Also, for being so much bigger than the 5th gen, it really doesn’t seem to have any more interior room. It seems like the 5th gen has better packaging in that regard.
@ Exactly! This was something we didn’t know until we traded to a newer 5th gen. Like the loss of trunk cargo space is annoying with the 3rd row but gaining that second row leg room adjustment is a better option I feel like. I was thinking the same the cabin look tight. I have a 2024 Tacoma right now and the inside feels a lot tighter than my 3rd gen Tacoma. Seats are amazing and new tech is cool, but you feel very wrapped around by the cabin versus just sitting inside. Our 5th gen 4Runner feels like a mansion inside compared to my 24 Tacoma.

But, not liking that Toyota took away power seats and have way too much plastic with no soft touch on OR. Thanks Jon. PS. Curious about that start/stop. Thanks, Jon, for this detailed look at the Limited!! So, I'm new to the 4Runner scene, but have always really liked how the 5th gens look, especially with the bigger tires. Dimension-wise, are these 6th gens smaller than the 5th gens?? I don't know why, but when I start looking at these 6th gens online they just seem "smaller" than the 5th gen ones I see (a lot of them) around my area. Granted, the ones I see IRL always seem to have the bigger wheels/tires... they just really look sharp. It's just me, right?! :)

Hey Jon. Great video. It's funny seeing the TRD OR with the snow plowing airdam, but this limited doesn't have it. Hopefully, the TRD OR gets the option for factory removal, just like the tacoma TRD OR. I'm also glad to see that just like the third row on the GX, the 4runner's third row makes it dead close to being fully flat. Maybe the media outlets will praise the third rows for the fold flat ish capabilities and not the tight space, haha.
Like this one a lot! Been wanting to see up close of the red one that’s seemed to be in the background at SEMA. The gloss black on the front where it’s going to get rock chips and bugs doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. It will be waaaaay out of my price range but a 5th gen will work well for me one day
I’m pretty sure if they kept the old folding method/seat style that the floor would be 100% flat with the battery. They see customers sleeping in this car and praising the flat floor all the time, I dont understand the departure for the 6th gen
Waiting to buy the 2025 hybrid 4Runner…don’t need 3rd row, looking forward to the extra fuel economy, sooooo excited! Love the red, but we will hold onto this for a few decades so we will go with ice cap white!😅 and absolutely LOVE the interior color!

@LacDole. Exactly! Our 2022 Limited is same as yours. Tumbling 2nd row reduces floor space by 1.5 ft in 6th Gen. Ours, as yours, folds flat 2nd row without adjusting headrest; 2nd row, on rails slides easily front to back to modify 2nd & 3rd row legroom as needed. 2nd row reclines about 6 inches. Totally flat floor throughout cargo area when 2nd & 3rd row folded. We hardly have used the 3rd row (maybe once), but it's available when needed. 6 cyl, no start-stop, no turbo, no touch screens! A better utility layout all around. PURRFECT! A keeper
@gregallen9643 This isn’t anything new. Third row in the 4Runner Limited has been around for years. I’ve owned a 2013 with 3rd row seating for 11 years now and never once have I felt like I was driving a mini van. Big difference.

Hope someone can find a way to retro fit the 6th taillights on a 5th gen.
Different panels so that would be some work for sure
Thanks, Jon, for this detailed look at the Limited!! So, I'm new to the 4Runner scene, but have always really liked how the 5th gens look, especially with the bigger tires. Dimension-wise, are these 6th gens smaller than the 5th gens?? I don't know why, but when I start looking at these 6th gens online they just seem "smaller" than the 5th gen ones I see (a lot of them) around my area. Granted, the ones I see IRL always seem to have the bigger wheels/tires... they just really look sharp. It's just me, right?! :)
Been waiting for this one
Here you are :)
Next option for a family is the minivan!!
The mom or dad will have suck up and get beyond the psychological problem of it being a minivan lol!!
When it boils down to it the minivan is more practical practical!!
It will be waaaaay out of my price range but a 5th gen will work well for me one day
Nice, we would not want three rows, so we would get the hybrid. Thanks for this update.
Love the red, but we will hold onto this for a few decades so we will go with ice cap white!😅 and absolutely LOVE the interior color!
hybrid 4Runner will have more power, but fuel economy is similar to the non-hybrid version.
@ hybrid estimated 25mpg. Non-hybrid estimated 18-19 mixed driving and 21 hwy…I’ll take the hybrid in a heartbeat!😅
@@deannakoehler8898 its a estimated for a reason have you seen the real mpg number of the Landcruiser hybrid . lol its pretty bad, you wont save much fuel.
@@theeconomist100yes I have thanks though! 😅
I have 4 kids. they have tails and paws so this is perfect
Engine? Transmission? Hp? Hello?????
My 2023 Limited as 7-pass seats and has much different second row seats, they slide to get people in and do not tumble. I can easily sleep in mine, this one is okay but a little short. Do they have amber rear turn signal or all red and shared with the tail light?
I wanna say it is red light if I remember correctly
@LacDole. PURRFECT! A keeper
Third row belongs in minivans, full size suvs, or countries that have a max height of 5’ !
@gregallen9643 This isn’t anything new. Third row in the 4Runner Limited has been around for years. I’ve owned a 2013 with 3rd row seating for 11 years now and never once have I felt like I was driving a mini van. Big difference.
