Well, I'm old. Sixty six years old and the rattle can and roll on paint method was pretty normal back in my younger days. Nice to see the younger generation embracing the old ways.
There are a lot of people who absolutely love their cars. And they love working on them. I like how you show people the correct way to do things. And also how they can do things when they are on a budget. The whole idea is just to get working on their projects instead of letting them sit.

First...this paint job was perfect for the vision you have for the truck. Second, the painted white grille, headlight trims, and front bumper are on-pont as well. Can't wait to the see the rear box/part of the truck get sorted out.

@@weirdbeard8898 look at the ls swap hack job that the 1 guy talking crap about your paint job done 2 gas tanks 2 key switchs jb weld everything including bodywork air conditioning lines and everything else done on the nomad wagon build but has the need to talk crap about how you do it just like you said it is about how someone can do it on the cheap and i agree with you and i am even not trying to knock his work because it is about getting something done cheap and having fun with it but dont talk about someone else's work when yours isn't the most professional job either

That's the great thing about trucks. You can do a basic body color and paint all the accessories white. Also rarely (unless custom) are car bumpers painted. I love painting things. It's therapeutic. I've got a 1970 Lemans I've been working on and it's a cool one because it came stock with a white painted roof (A/C car) I can't wait to paint. I'm thinking of doing the whole car with rattle cans. The dudes gonna be stoked when he sees that truck. 🙂👍

Brother I think it looks awesome, you don’t owe us a explanation, I get what your going for, like you said there’s always that one person that knows it all and don’t get it, always be some haters, usually they don’t know what the hell there talking about, you keep doing you brother! One of my favorite TH-camrs painted a faded Mopar back to it's original Meadow Green or Mint Green Metallic. And it looked great. It proved what I've always believed which is that the currently despised colors like green and gold, sand, and brown, actually looked great when they were fresh. You should never ask "why would anyone order it in that color?"
But the thing is, he only painted two thirds of the car. The other third he left with faded paint and worn spots. Then , instead of going back and painting the other third of the car, he scuffed and sanded the new paint to match the old paint!
😢 I am still in shock over this. I wish even one of my project cars had paint as good as the two thirds before he scuffed and sanded it.
The truck looks great, especially after dulling the paint a little. I really like the white wheels, it goes better with the body colors than aluminum would. Nice work!!
Yeah , I was like , no don't do that old look , but the way you lightly dulled it down is perfect and yes , keep the old school white wheels , looks great !

We used to load that thing down with logs far beyond the intended limits ...
It looked like it came out of a war zone ...

I agree, the dull look made a world of difference. It made it look like an old paint job that has just lasted through time, yet it's all new paint. Very creative idea, nice work!

Weird beard ! I think push bar would of looked better if you painted black .it would've made the front end pop. But I didn't know the truck was not yours until you mentioned it in the video. BUT it still is a hell of a paint job!
I would have left the front tires blacked out like the rear. I agree with the white rims and your bumper really fits the truck.

I'm loving this project. I definitely agree with the steel wheels. It's a work truck and I seriously doubt anyone is gonna spend a bunch of time polishing em, so the steel ones will be a bit more low maintenance. It's looking awesome!!

Truck looks awesome. I don't recall if I told you about the 65 GMC I had when I was around 18-19. Picked it up for $250. It was like 6 different colors with parts from a bunch of different trucks. 2 cases of red primer rattle can and a case of flat white from Dollar General and she was pretty good looking from about 20-30 feet away. LOL.. Single glass pack on the old v6 3 on the tree.. It was a fun old truck, even if I could see the left front tire from the drivers seat. :)

Back in 1987 the Wife and I painted my Mom's ole 1971 Galaxie500 2 door white using rattle cans and it actually turned out really well... So dang good most of the paint is still on the car that's parked waiting for me pull in the shop for a frame off restore... even thinkin of putting the 71' body on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car frame, with drive train and see if we can get the Town Car interior, dash and seats :)

Found and just added 2 emblems to my old 2003 Ranger Side Step, that says Bad Ass Edition. Point being, do what you want to your old trucks. It's all in fun.

Try a Chevy van or a 70s. Pick up for the round headlights
Painted quite a few old work trucks with rustoleum, acetone, and a pinch of hardener. Look better than they did when I got them. Not spending big money on a work vehicle.
