Very interesting and clever solution to the body mount problem! Moving that tank to the rear would be a massive safety improvement. I know someone whom was t-boned in one of those trucks with the tank behind the seat. Third degree burns over 60% of her body and years of painful reconstructive plastic surgery.

Looking good. I really like the way you dropped the cab. But just an idea cutting the raised floor part out and taking the floor straight across . Would've given extra storage space under the seat. Also you know how some mini vans have that latch mechanism on seats to tilt the seat forward. That would be awesome on that bench seat. Tilt bench seat for storage.

I just didn't see how you were going to make that work...until you did. If you put the gas tank between the rails in the rear, it would be nice if you put the fill spout behind hinged license plate like a lot of the cars did back then. That way, it wouldn't look strange having two fill spouts.

Hey Mike, this truck has been a fascinating project to watch (other than the paint which I'm not keen on but it's your truck). For us long time subscribers how about an update video on the the Datsun pickup project, and why the 59 Coronet never seems to make it to the finish line? I figure you'd make some real $$ once it's done and sold.
