Bob White from Sailing Doodles has a 52 foot catamaran in the final stages of build that's all battery powered. The boat is supposed to be at the Miami Boat show later this year. Very well thought out. The only ICE engines are the rib boat and he has a back up diesel generator in case the 7 lithium battery packs require more of a charge than the solar panels and the regenerative drives provide. Video was just published yesterday on the Doodles channel.
It just now got good enough 2024 to do it.... efficiency is getting so good. Also a wind turbine should be used on boats also.. both solar and wind. One could also implement hydro power using recycled washing machine parts, if you are smart enough
