i will suggest tvs apache 200 over this if you are true apache fan its almost 1 year with my apache rtr 180 abs ... in city it is fun to drive but on highway its not comfortable at all.. handle bar, footpegs almost everything vibrates alot.... if you are looking at 160-180cc segment bike so i will suggest simply buy gixxer you will never regret...

Accessories) And the showroom doesn't have - "TVS Apache RTR180 with ABS" for test-drive Instead they gave me "TVS Apache RTR160 (which by-default is WITHOUT ABS" for test-drive And they asked to decide based on RTR 160 test-drive

The metal bars are crash guards. In case of a crash, they prevent the body of the bike from being damaged. The metal bars on the left side of the black wheel is called a saree guard. Here in India, the traditional attire for ladies is a "saree." It is there to prevent the saree from getting intertwined in the wheel.
Hi Dino777 As much as i love the apache , The stock tyres on the apache from TVS are pathetic. Even a small stone on the road makes the rear tyre fishtail. i own a honda unicorn 150 which has a 100/90 rear mrf zapper tyre and I stiill feel confident while cornering it, The same isn't the case with the apache inspite of having a 110/90 rear tyre. Im planning to go in for a apache rtr 180 ABS. Is it advisable to change the rear tyre to a 120 or can i stick to the 110/90 specification but with the mrf make?? Also if the tyre change does happen do I need to change the front tyre as well. I dont want a huge drop in rev and mileage . Hope the abs functionality is not hindered due to the tyre change . Awaiting your response :-)

+MoHiT kALiKAR Bro vibrations on the RTR 180 are almost non-existent. RTR 160 is the bike that has major vibrations issues, but they've reduced it to some extent with the 2012 version. Periodic servicing, maintain recommended oil grade per user manual, use good quality fuel like Speed or Xtra premium, try to fill petrol from the same petrol bunk, get air filter cleaned regularly, use chain lubrication spray periodically. bro, your father is right, buying now makes your bike one year older and as a result depreciate further. even if you buy next year, make sure the year of manufacture is 2017 because they keep selling old stock first to clear them up. The way to find that is to decipher the code the bike comes with. you can insist with the dealer to give you 2017 bike rather than 2016 bike.

+Chanabasayya Ghatawalimath It's much better than 160 bro. RTR 180 was never plagued by vibrations problem. As long as you are maintaining the bike well and using good quality fuel, the recommended grade engine, using chain lubrication, the bike does well. The vibrations felt are very minimal and not as bothersome as that of the RTR 160. In fact, even with the 160, they have tried to reduce it to some extent.

+anirudh raman **First of all about comfort, yes RTR series doesn't offer great comfort for long rides. It is best suited for zipping across city streets, but then again there are friends of mine who have toured on RTR 180. I guess it's about finding the right posture that helps. I do however agree, this bike is not about comfort. It's about raw power. ** RTR 180 has never been plagued with vibrations issue. It was a major issue with RTR 160, but they tried to reduce it with the 2012 model, however, there might be some negligible vibrations felt on the 180 too that you can easily live with. **Duke 200 is a class apart when it comes to performance and is priced very high when compared to RTR 180. Duke 200 too has its own set of problems like engine heating felt on your legs when the radiator fan kicks in (it happens if you are stuck in bumper to bumper traffic). Duke also doesn't get ABS. RS 200 gets only single channel ABS, which means ABS is operational only on front wheel. Pulsar 220 F is still a great bike, but again no ABS. 200 NS I heard might be discontinued soon, so better to stay away. 200 NS is a good bike, but its engine though a rev happy one isn't the smoothest. RTR 180 ABS is what I would recommend because it is the most affordable one with dual channel ABS (ABS operational on both wheels). Safety comes first on my list always. If you are an experienced rider, get yourself a Duke, but you need to maintain it well to enjoy it. If possible wait for new RTR series/Draken that is slated to come out early next year. If you want raw unending power, or a KTM Duke like performance at an affordable price with the added safety of ABS, then go with Apache. If you are looking for comfort, supreme refinement, and the latest technology, go with Fazer as it offers fuel injection.
monish chander It is absolutely comfortable for the rider, but for the pillion he/she can sit with out any problem for 1 to 2 hrs there after it will take a toll on their back. I did 370 km ride in 6 hrs one way and there is no problem at all. But Apache and Vibrations are non separable(The only problem i'm facing with the beast). Yes you can switch off the ABS. Press the ABS switch for 3 seconds to disengage ABS. The ABS light is on when ABS is switched off. The light goes out when ABS is switched on. It is better you switch it off/on when the bike is stationary.

ohh i dont know anyone from kolkata, sticker wont be there without ABS, u will have ABS u can check on wheels. if u want to put switch TVS showroom wont put i guess, u have to put your own custom switch by any mechanics.

Of course the 200 NS is a great performer too, but I think it has been discontinued and we have the 200 AS instead now, which is also very good. RTR has dual channel ABS that no other bike is offering in its price range. Comfort is also pretty good on the RTR. In terms of comfort, safety, and performance, the RTR wins. In terms of build quality, comfort, and reliability, Fazer wins. In terms of looks, mileage, and decent performance, Gixxer wins.
