Love is ("means") giving = ความรักเป็นการให้
I see some people use the alternative for the verb "to be" = ความรักคือการให้
But love is not just giving ... for example love is "never having to say you're sorry" is an alternative expression so เป็น rather than คือ

That's a really useful clarification. I'm new to this, but I was under the impression that เป็น was only used when talking about people and only in certain circumstances to express a state-of-being. Thanks for you comment
