Haha, this is cool! Bummer to find out now 😂 KTM should supply instructions, but maybe they do somewhere. If You bought the Offroad ABS Dongle for the 690, there were tricks as well in functionality with the killswitch involved. Not a word on thar in the instructions anywhere. Impossible to just figure out by yourself. Made a video on that to back in the days. Happy Trails with the new 890 💪🔥.
Thanks for putting this video together -- any tips on how to remove the bottom bolt and square bushing from the TFT -- it just spins when turning the T30 bolt and I haven't found a good way to hold the square bushing stationary while turning the bolt.
Unfortunately I can't remember, but I had no problem with loosening the TFT . I remember that square part though. Maybe I could hold it while wrenching. Hope you get to it. The hard part was to thread the wires thru all the way inside.

Great find with the mount adjustability! Would value people’s thoughts on auxiliary lighting and brackets. Looks like aftermarket still catching up to new fairings. My dealer said he believes KTM will put out a bracket. I take delivery April 1st. Very excited! Really enjoy you videos
If you have the 23 model KTM provided wiring, wire grommet and divots for fastener locations. I’ll post a video once I receive them, albeit not nearly as good as this video. Haha Cyclops h has already released 23 model lights. I had their Aurora’s since 2019 great lights.

Haha, I just got ready with the bike and new total snowstorm just opened up 👀😂. Timing! After a bottle of JD and som beers I just cheated on the hammock. Me, Ari and a few other guys just tipped over in our sleeping bags in the windshield, with a campfire going all night. I woke that night and wondered why I did not used the matress as well 😂 but at least I had a reindeer fur 💪🔥. The best part was to get Stewe's beer version of his race to Dakar at Africa Eco Race. He did really well! And broke a new wheelie record as well, infront of the chopper 👌
I know! That was a pain on the 790R I had 😝. The new "tower" is a signifikant upgrade to the 890. It's fun how we get surprised when KTM has done wiring smarter and tidier 👀😂👍

It’s so différent from my previous BMW GSA, it gives me the feeling that i’m riding a mountain bike 😂 I have a few questions : - coule you remind me which wire it should be connectes to ? ACC1 or 2 ? - are the connecting wires always on the side ? - are you happy with the Zumo gps ? I’m hesitating with a Montana. Regardingvthe Zumo vs the Montana it.s more about what type of riding you are doing. Only riding small trails and sometimes hiking, Montana is good. For mixed riding the Zumo is better.

I run the wires thru the TFT grommet and to do this You have to unscrew the front fasteners for the TFT, the one that also allows the TFT angle to be adjusted. Thanks and happy trails 💪🤠🔥
I could see that you are using a garmin zumo xt, How do you routed the small box in the wire through the tower. I can't see any other way, either you have to pass the box or you have to pass the charging connector
This was lasrar year but You Are right, I disconnected the Bilkes TFT display in it's lower adjustable mounting point. From there i routed a zip tie or wire down to the DC connector location, fastened the Navigator wire and pulled it up. Trick part of the installation. Should habe shown this ofc but got focused and forgot the cam..

Hey Mattias. Well I finally picked mine up yesterday. Curious what metal handguards did you get? I saw Rottweiler has some that won’t be available till late April. I also plan on taking the BRP handguards fork mount off my 350 and seeing if it will fit on the 890 too. It’s way more secure. My 350 cycra handguards stopped spinning in crashes once I installed them
Ahh, congrats! How did You spec Yours? I went for the KTM PowerParts handguards. Could chose between white, orange and black. Went for white as the original ones. The original ones have better wind protection but these are safer as you say. The ones you describe sounds different in how they are attached?

Not sure you mentioned if power goes off with the key off in ignition and if it's a fuse protected for this aux only? Sorry if you did. A great work though! 👌 Ride safe 🤘
There are two wire sets in the compartment ACC1 and ACC2, I connected to the one the is controlled by the ignition. The other is always hot. They are fused, but sldo the navigator wires.
No i wasunfortunately not filming bc i was focused om what I was doing and not the camera. But, it was easy to unbolt the TFT to pass the wires thru the lower TFT attaching point. With that bolt and elongated hole in th TFT, You can also adjust the TFT angle. I run a ziptie from above down to the compartment where a hide the wire bundle, this to fasteners the wire and pull it up thru the TFT hole.

That's a lot easier than pulling the whole headlight assembly apart as you have to do with the older bikes!

Hi & thanks 🙏 I measures on the ACC1 and ACC2 to get the one that shuts off with the ignition key.
Regardingvthe Zumo vs the Montana it.s more about what type of riding you are doing. Only riding small trails and sometimes hiking, Montana is good. For mixed riding the Zumo is better.

Yes, I have removed the handles and made spacers for the bolts.

Thats true, I got too focused on that part so I forgot the cam... but I threaded a zip the from top (lower TFT mount) down to the ACC 1&2 compartment.

Her er det går tempen opp på 4-5 + grader på dag tid frost om netten og isholkar noen steder på veien men snart Våras det he he nyt dagen som kommer
1290 SAR är cool och rätt lättkörd ändå, men 790/890 känns mer som en enduro i jämförelse, men ändå bibehållen komfort.
