I am really enjoying the stripped-down, back-to-basics sound of the current band. Paich is irreplaceable, but X is doing a great job. Phillips was a top rock drummer and Carlock and Forrest were versatile pros, but in some ways Sput is a better fit. His style is more jazzy, funky ala Jeff P. Ham contributes a lot, without percussion dominating. To me, the arrangement and production on these songs sound more like the one or two-take studio versions than the "bigger sound" versions from some tours in the past. Pierce is starting to look more comfortable which is good since Mike P.'s funky bass playing is really missed. Hungate's return filled that void for a couple of years, but it is being felt again.

Dominique "Xavier" Taplin is an amazing player, but to me the rosanna piano part doesn´t sound properly ... It doesn´t have that swing like when it´´s played by Paich ... Just my opinion ...
Napoleon schon and Steve Lukathur must use the same hair dye for me.... I wonder if Napoleon steals videos of fans who take toto videos, ya probably not

Paich is a diabetic and can't travel. Steve P hasn't been with them since the lawsuit.
