- Seamus the Mejiro fell out of a tree when he was a baby. After he got rescued by Donna, her son Christopher and daughter Sabrina, he ended up in a forever home filled with butterflies and other rescue birds.

This is an amazing family! I have never heard of anybody raising butterflies and the next thing here are 3 butterflies neatly in a row, drinking their meal. All the birds also look so happy and healthy! 💞💞💞💞
Naww they look like the silver wax eye birds here in New Zealand. I saved one also, it fell out of its nest on a windy day. Hand to hand raise it because it hadn't learnt to fly... once he learnt to fly round we let him go. Then all his little family came along ❤, he comes back for regular visits now. Love Birds
I love how the birds are allowed to FLY around! It angers me when I see birds cooped up in bird cages. It's inhumane. What a wonderful, generous and intelligent family! ❤️

@@7Jasmine8 Being a Parrot dad myself you will know when he's about to poop. He'll start puffing up so then i will take him to his cage and even if they poop somewhere it doesn't smell bad at all and it's really easy to clean with a tissue.
@@7Jasmine8 First if all, birds don't really pee. With small birds, their poop it very easy to clean and does not smell bad unless you let it build up. With bigger birds, they can be trained to poop in certain areas.

First I was thinking how nice that this family raises a baby-bird(s) that need their help, but then they started about the butterflies and I was like... WOW what a super generous and loving family ❤ !!! Always love the video's where people do something for animals !!! If he was outside being a wild bird he'd eat those butterflies because it's a natural thing. But he doesn't even try to eat them. He doesn't see them as food and he's very sweet with them. It's cute.

it seems like you can sometimes tell when people pet animals, some pet with the comfort of the creature in mind (recognizing nuanced feedback), while others pet more for their own enjoyment as the salient impetus.
these people def know how to genuinely please the birds. i love how they separate their feathers when they like it.

The birds are adorable and so are the three of you - simply adorable! What magnificent work you have done with these wee birds. They have love, play time, comforts, best food, and the best flock to belong to. Truly compassionate and hard work - rescue is not easy. Most of all, they have a human family that loves them and enjoys them, they are free from disease, parasites, predators. I would love to be a bird in your house!

I once rescued a hummingbird, she was tiny and weak. I stayed up late at night, hand feeding and leaving the light on for her see and fly around. She stayed with me for a whole day before she decided she was ready to leave, there were other hummingbirds in my area, so she made friends quick and they would come visit sometime since I had about four hummingbird feeders. But had to move somewhere else, but the moment I put the feeders back out, hummingbirds appeared. I didn't move for, like a mile away from the last place.
Hummingbirds do and can memorize faces and voice's and can travel for some miles at a time. So it makes me wonder, are these new hummingbirds or are they the same hummingbirds from before and followed me?
He looks so much like a Cape White Eye that are found all over South Africa...we used to get loads of them in our garden in Johannesburg...
Oh I thought that's what they were. Hmm. Any idea what they are?

My daughters and I have raised many birds...mejiros, zebra doves, pigeons, mynahs, bulbuls, and most of all the other common birds you sees daily here in Hawaii. People would bring us bald baby birds that had fallen out of their nests or injured birds to take care of. The birds brought us so much joy and delight, and that has stayed with my girls to this day. It’s so comforting to know there are people like you and your family who “see” these animals and care enough to to help them. Mejiros are such fun little birds and are so smart!! 💕 Thank you for the wonderful video and for helping our precious monarch butterflies, too!

Lovely and sensitive family, it's not easy to care for a small bird or butterflies, it's really awesome.
Where I’m from i have personally seen the warbling white-eyes (also called Japanese white-eyes) hunt butterflies in the wild. Obviously they go after smaller butterflies, but it’s so cute to see this pet bird just chilling with his insect homies enjoying that nectar.
What a beautiful and lively household they must have! Never a dull moment. 🥰
