Apple released the new M1 Macs: the Late 2020 MacBook Air, 2020 MacBook Pro, and 2020 Mac mini to much fanfare after several months of teasing the new M1 and Apple Silicon chiplet architecture. The hardware is impressive and we’ll talk about why/how it’ll change Apple’s lineup in the next video, but in this video we’re going to talk about something arguably more important: the macOS software experience. A question for yall!! Im a video/photographer and im using a built pc with a 2070 super and a ryzen 5 3600. Honestly i dont really play games anymore so its kinda a waste of money in the game department. Lets say i sell the setup for like 1,700 with peripherals, and buy something in the m1 lineup, would this be a stupid dessision? Then i could buy like 200 dollars of storage and a ps5 or something lmaoo
If you watch ColdFusion, you can see It's not just the Hardware, It's also the Software that is important. and it all started with the iPhone with the buggy Samsung SOC but with a useful smoothly driven patched Software. then, Apple made their own custom ARM Chips to the point of Desktop Power while Promotes Developers to Develop Programs that runs suitably on the iOS application.
@@user-dh5fp4gw1b Eh kinda tough, but might be an easy decision for you. I bought an m1 macbook pro and I have started editing on it. I switched from premier to final cut. Fc performance is amazing, premier was unusable and resolve was ok. If you are a premier editor, you should definitely stick with ur current setup, at least for now.
You could consider selling your 2070 for a ton right now and use a lower power card. Idk just depends on how much you are able to get for it and what you are able to find to replace it. Not sure how intensive your work is specifically.
Quinn is one of the few guys on TH-cam who admits loving Apple but his reviews and videos are completely unbiased and really really informative

Note: iOS games on Mac using a game controller works a treat-- I'm pretty sure this is how Apple expected everyone to do it.

I think almost everyday since the M1 was released i've been waiting for this video from you, thanks for being amazing!!
That’s why they implement PSx controller’s support (same for XBOX and maybe Nintendo Switch) on the iPad, because playing with a controller is the same on an iPad or a Mac, due to the fact that with a controller, we don’t have to touch any screen. But I wonder if Apple would release their own controller.
On the one hand, they can release one with next gen Apple TV which can have a powerful chip like A14X or A12Z one to create a « true » game console, creating an alternative to nintendo switch or the duo PS5 / XBOX S series. Moreover, as they sell other brands products before creating them (I think about headphones for example), they can make the same with a game controller (with steelseries...), but it can be way different as a traditionnal controller as they reinvent the way to perform a task. And that’s why I think they will promote Dualsense / Dualschock and XBOX controller because they need to propose gamers a familiar environment to make them want a Mac.
I think playing F1 game smoothly on a Macbook with a XBOX controller will enjoy some people (or other games like Call of Duty...)

Mac mini extra watts could be for external devices like low power GPU's, mechanical drives, pass-through charging, etc.

I’ve been scrounging up money and taking extra shifts, but Christmas shopping took serious chunks out of my paycheck. But that’s all done now, so hopefully in January I’ll have my first MacBook!

The true problem with Mac mini is that with all that space, they did now let users upgrade/add SSD....
You can use a dongle
And an external drive

It's been great to hear that the M1's are really that great, but this is the first video I've seen bringing the issues to light. I really appreciate that. I've held off on Big Sur, I don't want to upgrade and suddenly have parts of my workflow not function. I'm excited to upgrade once a few more things get worked out.
