I’ve always wanted Mario Kart Maker where you can design your own tracks, etc. I don’t think SMM3 is out of the realm of possibility though. It doesn’t take as much effort for Nintendo to make and it would be an easy early release for the Switch 2. Maybe that’s wishful thinking but I think it could happen!

Big fan of this series. I would be happy about an smm3, but I don't really believe in it. I'm still playing this game, kaizo levels and levels without a clear. I still enjoy it, but only for 60 or 90 minutes at most. I can understand the people who aren't really interested in the game anymore.
I don't understand why people think they won't burn out on Mario Maker 3 in about 3-6 months. Most of the same types of levels will be made. What new parts get released will be HAMMERED by everyone trying them put immediately. (Think of the time right after the patch, when there were nine million "TrY ALl tHe HaTs!" Levels or Link tutorials. The novelty of this game peaked in Mario Maker 1, was refreshed by 2, and will get a fresh breath of air in 3. But it will never feel as exciting again for as long as it did with Maker 1. That's how novelty is. It's always diminishing returns. That's why novelty feels so special.
True, I think the best way for them to counter this is to keep releasing content updates for longer after the game is released. They don't have to be big, just a couple new powerups or whatever every couple months would keep players coming back again and again.
SMM3 makes financial sense to produce. 90% of the game is already developed - Nintendo just has to make enhancements. It would be the game with the highest ROI.
Personally I don't see smm3 happen. Overall smm2 sold decent on the switch and the total sales number is higher than the ones for smm1. But that's because the wii u sold very bad. I think smm1 was somewhere in the top 10 on wii u. Compared to that smm2, a game with a lot more content and a lot of improvements over the first game, didn't even make it into the top 20. Which is for a mario game really not that good. Even a port like nsmbu for switch is like the 10th most selling switch game and that game has a lot less content than maker 2 and is on top of that a port from the wii u. I feel like the numbers are not that much in favor of another regular smm title for the future console. However I can imagine that they would try something completed new in terms of maker. Maybe a Mario 3D maker. Mario Builder 64 shows that it's possible.
For me the reason is simple: the online abo sucks. That only makes sense for players that are playing much. Why buy a mario gane where you can't use half of the features?
I think SMM2 sold well enough to justify a 3rd but my worry is Nintendo doesn't want to oversaturate Mario. SMM took the place of 2d Mario so it's seems sensible to me to see Wonder as the replacement of SMM. Also Nintendo stopped supporting SMM2 very early on. I think the decision was made to go in a different direction and the probably released what they had already been working on for it then turned their attention to Wonder. I really, really hope I'm wrong though.
SMM2 sold poorly in comparison to the amount of switch units there are. Over 140 million people bought a switch, and only 9 million bought MM2. That’s only 6% of people, and this game isn’t even in the top 20 in terms of the best selling games on switch. Comparing that to Wii U having 13 million people and 4 million buying the game, so nearly 1/3rd of all people buying MM1
I'm glad these are staying. The YT ones are my favorite anyway :)

No problem with skipping the pixel-perfect stuff. Smart move IMO. Don't worry.
15:07 "Level eight, here we go!"
15:19 #LetoSquad: "You might wish to reconsider that statement"
18:22 "I guess this is a hot potato level?"

"Apparently, this is rather a hot trash level!"

Edit: haha didnt even meant to make the Mario pun
Great job clutching that Mechakoopa level!
Also, I appreciated your ending message. "It takes so long to die, and that would be rough." :)

I really wish they would try for a 3D Mario Maker, maybe not even based on any prior games.
8:46 for "seriously.." effect!!
Let's go! MM!
Kamek levels are wonderful.
No Mario Maker 3. They will call it Mario Troll Maker.
The funniest thing would be for thab to accidentally do a leto and beat the level.

You’re probably right but it would be entertaining for quite awhile

For most people, sure. But I'm still playing the game and I'm still very much entertained. I don't even need an update xD
@Thabwest721 don't get me wrong. I enjoy the content. I just hope that the burnout goes away and you come back to playing this.

Thx for the video.

The like button has never been more sacred!
Thank you for skipping pixel perfect. It's such an uninteresting use of a very versatile game.
