    It is expensive if you think Skoda. If you start comparing it with the next category it is suddenly a bargain. In terms of performance it is very close to an entry level BMW X5. But it is fully equipped, has 7 seats and is half the price.
    Edit: Ok, not half the price. Rather 2/3 of the price. A comparable configuration of the X5 is 30'000 euro more. But you get a bigger engine with one turbo.

    Typical great Aditya review. Many thanks. I think I prefer the SWB VW Tiguan SEL version, a bit more expensive, but available with bright coloured interior, and a HUD - been around for almost 3 years - Autogefuhl reviewed one nearly 3 years ago, albeit with the R-Line body-kit. Keep up the good work, team.

    The look and interior is similar to a Sportline, more affordable.

    Probably the best shot video and info on this car. Didn't come here for the VRS but just ordered the Sportline in Thomas blue which looks exactly like this car.
    Why does the VRS in this video have 20" Vega alloys which are usually found only the Sportline rather than the normal 20" Extreme alloys found on the VRS? I much prefer these Vega alloys. I also prefer the silver trim stitching on the Sportline to the red on the VRS. Overall I think the Sportline is the better value car. And no silly fake sounding exhaust on the petrol models either! As others have said, the vRS is too expensive. It also attracts higher annual taxes so is a rare sight on UK roads.
    The 2021 models ( factory built cars from jun '20 onwards ) have additional spec. nothing major, mainly new steering wheel ( from new Octavia? ) and updated infotainment I think.

    Excellent review and great journalist ... the most comprehensive reviews on the internet... the RS is excellent and exceptional value.. I’ve owned two Q7’s and both were great, old model and current.. both cost more than double this VRS.. and no door protector and umbrella.. I’d certainly have bought this but choose a VW California Ocean with full specification instead, took delivery last week. It’s the same 2.0 Bi - Turbo engine as this VRS but 205ps ...

      Do you really believe the T6 is worth the money? I configured something like you made and in AUT I landed at about 95.000,- eur for that metal box full of rust problems.
      Well the T6 is really an interesting car, but that price is overrated in my opinion...
      What you mean?

    • @alexanderdunning6586
      @alexanderdunning6586 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure you can call it exceptional value, when a 2017 X5 is larger, faster, and better in plenty of other ways for the same price. The problem with the VRS is that it isn't that fast, and it costs as much as a new X3, and those come fairly fast as standard.

    • @31276965lmm
      @31276965lmm 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander Dunning when you factor in the running & service costs of the V6 BMW X5 yes I think the VRS is the best value .. I’ve run two Q7’s over 8 years and they were a pleasure to own but very expensive. This VRS costs less than my wife’s Mini Countryman JCW ...

      Autogefühl yes I do, I’ve spec’ed it high with 4 motion plus locking diff and ticked every box including the DyAudio Sound System, not sure where you are getting the €95,000 .. I paid CHF 86,000 fully loaded with DSG, 4 Motion, Adjustable Sports Suspension, the 205ps Motor and just about everything else ... I’m delighted and impressed with the drive .. spent two nights in the mountains last weekend... very enjoyable.

    Love the video, very detailed. The vrs kodiaq is priced in NZ at $71.000 . To put it to perspective less equiped Discovery Sport is $84.000 or Mazda Cx-9 $68.000 Hyundai Santa Fe $82.000 in this segment there is really no competition for Skoda. What are the other choices in this price range for sporty looking seven seater? I think none.

    Interesting: where they have the front airbag of the co-driver placed?
    And I really do not understand why Skoda does offer side airbags at the back seats and back window sun shapes and you do not get that in the Allspace because of "less customer demands" but they call that 3 cars (Allspace, Kodiaq and Tarraco) "family midsize SUVs"...?

      Go and see the Tiguan in the US. Your Tiguan is called here the Tiguan Allspace. The Tiguan in Europe is a smaller one.
      But the US model does not have the same quality materials than the EU one, because the cars are way cheaper in the US.
      But config the Tiguan SEL premium r-line 4motion and you nearly have the same car except the engine.
      I do have it in silk-blue since 2 weeks now and it is great. I swapped from a Audi A4 Avant because of cars age and because of the space...

    • @Mastermindthreethousand
      @Mastermindthreethousand 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Americans are lucky as the fuel per liter is a full dollar cheaper than in Europe and you don't pay extra taxes for co2 exhaust. I bought a Fiat 500L 1.4 mpi and it's €2.300 for registration from 2020 and to fill the 50l tank it costs €70. At 7l per 100km economy, that is €10/100km. A Mustang costs 35.000 dollars in the US, in most European countries it costs twice that and to register it will cost €10.000 or sth.

    The biggest problem with this Skoda is that an SUV from a luxury brand will be faster, often even with the base 2.0 engine. A 1 year old X5 3.0 is the same price as this, faster, and more practical. Yes running costs will be higher, and the VRS will be interesting to car nerds, but... Same story with the Superb 280 - similar price to a very lightly used BMW 5, which you can buy with considerably more power/dynamics.

      Only idiot can compare new and used cars. Why not to compare 1y old superb and 1y old bmw 5?

      Because the SQ7 hasn't been around it yet lol. Neither any of the other fast 7 seat SUVs like range rover or BMW etc

      @@autogefuehl I'm sure the SQ7, Bentagya, RR Sport SVR haven't bothered going around it yet.

    Skoda with almost price of Audi , comone no one is stupid to pay such a hih price for budget people car as Skoda. Asian car makers will kill soon all german cars. Just looks what now mazda cx5 looks and with this powerfull 2.5 natural aspirited engine world best award with no turbo lag,with excellent petrol low consupmtion, and luxuary interior which is in my opinion now better than audi q5 and price which is cheaper than poor tiguan .To not even note very problematic and costly repair and creepy at low speed DSG VAG transmission . Think twice smart and han you csn see this is not worth it ,VAG is now maker over overvalued cars and unrealiable with higly arogant and poor warranty service, they just threat coustomer as rubish!

      Considering Thomas does about 100 car reviews per year there is hardly anyone else on the planet doing as many reviews as himself. The only solution would be to clone him, but Thomas does not trust in this technology yet nor would he be narcissistic enough to do that. And btw, if you want to unsubscribe, feel free. It's a free platform. If you rather enjoy great content for free, then stay subscribed and please don't spread negative mood.

      Autogefühl 😂 Calm down, it was what we Englanders call “tounge in cheek” humour. You all do a great job, and don’t give up on the Thomas clone idea.

      @Speedmaster 500 - "tongue in cheek" humour? I'm from the UK, and I did not laugh. AJ, Holger and Thomas Imhof do great reviews.
