Really, the ego is not dissolved - it is told that it is just as valid as everything and allowed to not do the job of the higher mind and is free to just perceive what is going on. It is not an evil toxin to be purged. It is transformed and integrated and free to do its job (perceive experience). It's all words, words, words. Just saying. Fear is the messenger that says "hey, you are out of alignment with your true, natural self so check your beliefs (definitions)". Matt is so good with people.
