Robert Petrinčič hello capt Robert. I am about to fly and I am really confused. I decided to take off the tanks to reduce the weight. With a 1600 battery, pushing it all the way back and having a small weight on the back, per manual CG the Plane is still nose heavy. I spoke with motionrc and they said that the plane is designed for a 138 gram bat my 1600 is 205 grams. I watched your vid several times, do you think your first toss was maybe too steep?
Ok, thank you! I’ll re configure a bit. I just wonder where the heck is the CG. Right now I have between 7.3mm and 8.2mm behind panel line, per manual. I’ll make a maiden vid dedicate to you guys and send.
Great first flight Robert. I have had this airplane for a couple years and it is great value for the money. After 20 flights I took out the 64mm fan and installed the e-flite 70 mm and ran the model with a 4 cell 2200 mAh battery. I no longer need to hand launch as the Mig now takes off from the ground. The jet now completes large loops and really zips along. Have a great day from St. Albert AB. Canada.

There is a nice upgrade to the 5-blade fan. I think its a 10-blade fan that has a nicer sound, more like a jet and less like the sound of a hairdryer. Get well Capt. Blaz.
Oh yeah Lee, but for maiden flights we always test the planes like you get them when you buy them. And I like this baby as it is. But it would be better sound ofcourse from 12 blades. Cheers, Robert

Tail heavy and high AOA on the first throw. That second throw you threw it nice and level with a much better CG. You guys made that bird look good. And it sounded wonderful.

Unfortunately Robert, happy landings are almost as rare as successful take off's for me but yes, it is a sickness and I have been well & truly bitten! My hanger is full of Virgin aircraft and the plan is to maiden two a week during the summer if we actually get one in the UK this year meanwhile, I'll continue enjoying your flights!!

I just had my first flight of one of these and it went really well with 3s 2200 all the way too the front you just need to adust the expo on the ailerons and elevator to make it move less good fun flys fast

So happy you done this review 😊 Just got the freewing f86 64 mm yesterday day and test fitted a 2250 3s and was thinking it was going to be to big as there was no more room to fit the receiver at the recommend place 😔 But as I see you have placed yours on the canopy. As this is my first EDF I was scratching my head with options 😉and then this beautiful little review put everything thing in place for me. You guys are the bomb thanks for passing on all your fantastic reviews.. it's guys like you that pass on all your knowledge that help us blokes well some anyway that don't have as much experience for this I salute you.

Beautiful plane guys. Try it with a 4s-1800mAh battery as far forward as it can go. It really is a joy to fly then. There is no need to upgrade the motor or the ESC, as long as you do not go full throttle for more than 7-10 seconds at a time....Basically for launch, and a few high-speed passes. The rest of the time, you can buzz along at half-to 3/4 throttle..... That is what I used to fly my F9 panther with. Happy Easter to you and your families gentlemen.... David

Congratulations on the successful flight of your MiG-15 Pilot Robert ! I own the Freewing 64mm F9F Panther that I upgraded to a Freewing 12 blade 3300kv fan unit and a 45amp ESC. I am powering it with a 4 cell 2200mah 35c battery (with a small mod to the battery tray). It has a 1.3 to 1 thrust to weight ratio. It will fly right out of your hand with a light toss and is ridiculously fast. Also, the sound of the 12 blade fan is AWESOME ! You should try this mod with your MiG Pilot Robert ! I purchased the fan unit and ESC from our friends at Motion RC. Salute Pilot Robert and Captain Blaz ! 🍺 I’m heading out to the RC field in two hours to fly and the Panther will be zooming the shit out of the sky above ! 👍🏼 P.S. - I can send you pictures of the mod that I did to the Panther if you’d like.

Great 'baby' MIG. Great take-off and landing too. The first one doesn't count as someone told you the 'G-SPOT' was in the wrong place, because Pilot Robert & Capt. Blaz will always find the G-Spot - HEY? Loved the flight

Interestingly, we had the same issue with the 64mm Panther. You figured it out faster than we did. I kept trying to fly it with the CG in the right spot and failed every time. As soon as we made it really nose heavy it flew great! Weird huh?? Poor Blaz... Sounds like he had a cold?

These swept wing jets fl;y much better a little nose heavy,I think for its size this flies very well,when you opened her up then you could see how fast this little beauty is,high set tails also need less movement from experience,you handled the first attempt well and got the Mig 15 down onto the ground safely,look forwad to seeing the F-86 Sabre fly when you get this.

Nice plane: great scale looking, easy to transport, affordable, but yet this 64mm EDF size it is too small in my opinion, a larger plane flies easier, is less sensitive to wind and is easier to see. Well filmed and flown and a lot of practical information for the future buyer of this beautiful model.

Wow this 64mm Freewing model is very attractive. It is even a good price if you upgrade it to a 10-12 blade fan with 4S setup. I just don't know if the stock ESC/motor can handle 4s. Also to be honest it's fast enough with the stock 3s setup.

@@nagyordog that 1600 is just too small it will work if you add extra nose weight. I would try something bigger like a 2200 and just go for it.

Tail heavy and high AOA on the first throw. That second throw you threw it nice and level with a much better CG. You guys made that bird look good. And it sounded wonderful.

Unfortunately Robert, happy landings are almost as rare as successful take off's for me but yes, it is a sickness and I have been well & truly bitten! My hanger is full of Virgin aircraft and the plan is to maiden two a week during the summer if we actually get one in the UK this year meanwhile, I'll continue enjoying your flights!!

I just had my first flight of one of these and it went really well with 3s 2200 all the way too the front you just need to adust the expo on the ailerons and elevator to make it move less good fun flys fast

So happy you done this review 😊 Just got the freewing f86 64 mm yesterday day and test fitted a 2250 3s and was thinking it was going to be to big as there was no more room to fit the receiver at the recommend place 😔 But as I see you have placed yours on the canopy. As this is my first EDF I was scratching my head with options 😉and then this beautiful little review put everything thing in place for me. You guys are the bomb thanks for passing on all your fantastic reviews.. it's guys like you that pass on all your knowledge that help us blokes well some anyway that don't have as much experience for this I salute you.

Robert Petrinčič just finish the build, very easy ! I hope i can use my turnigy 2200 graphene in it but there is the question of cg.. i see your mig is very nose down lol and these 2 bird are similar so i see what is going on maiden :-)
Beautiful plane guys. Try it with a 4s-1800mAh battery as far forward as it can go. It really is a joy to fly then.
There is no need to upgrade the motor or the ESC, as long as you do not go full throttle for more than 7-10 seconds at a time....Basically for launch, and a few high-speed passes. The rest of the time, you can buzz along at half-to 3/4 throttle.....
That is what I used to fly my F9 panther with.

Congratulations on the successful flight of your MiG-15 Pilot Robert ! I own the Freewing 64mm F9F Panther that I upgraded to a Freewing 12 blade 3300kv fan unit and a 45amp ESC. I am powering it with a 4 cell 2200mah 35c battery (with a small mod to the battery tray). It has a 1.3 to 1 thrust to weight ratio. It will fly right out of your hand with a light toss and is ridiculously fast. Also, the sound of the 12 blade fan is AWESOME ! You should try this mod with your MiG Pilot Robert ! I purchased the fan unit and ESC from our friends at Motion RC. Salute Pilot Robert and Captain Blaz ! 🍺 I’m heading out to the RC field in two hours to fly and the Panther will be zooming the shit out of the sky above ! 👍🏼 P.S. - I can send you pictures of the mod that I did to the Panther if you’d like.

Great 'baby' MIG. Great take-off and landing too. The first one doesn't count as someone told you the 'G-SPOT' was in the wrong place, because Pilot Robert & Capt. Blaz will always find the G-Spot - HEY? Loved the flight

Interestingly, we had the same issue with the 64mm Panther. You figured it out faster than we did. I kept trying to fly it with the CG in the right spot and failed every time. As soon as we made it really nose heavy it flew great! Weird huh?? Poor Blaz... Sounds like he had a cold?

These swept wing jets fl;y much better a little nose heavy,I think for its size this flies very well,when you opened her up then you could see how fast this little beauty is,high set tails also need less movement from experience,you handled the first attempt well and got the Mig 15 down onto the ground safely,look forwad to seeing the F-86 Sabre fly when you get this.

Nice plane: great scale looking, easy to transport, affordable, but yet this 64mm EDF size it is too small in my opinion, a larger plane flies easier, is less sensitive to wind and is easier to see. Well filmed and flown and a lot of practical information for the future buyer of this beautiful model.

Wow this 64mm Freewing model is very attractive. It is even a good price if you upgrade it to a 10-12 blade fan with 4S setup. I just don't know if the stock ESC/motor can handle 4s. Also to be honest it's fast enough with the stock 3s setup.
