It's got a cool, eerie howl coming down hill. Think I'm still a couple planes away from this sucker, though. Waiting for my 1st low-wing, Air tractor, to show up on my doorstep this week. Thanks for the video, y'all 👍
Cool stuff adam! The xane mb339 50mm looks pretty sweet too. I might have to order one now the holidays have past. I just wish it had a rudder and some form of landing gear
Vert nice maiden flight and aerobatic display. The video was amazing quality, very well shot with great light. The model looked awesome and so much like a real Mig-17 in the air I got flask backs to 1984 in Alaskan air space during the cold war era. On the 2nd flight the inverted display was great and I enjoyed watch Jedi Master Adam ply his trade. Great Video and Enjoyed Watching ✔🎥🏆
Nice flights and review of the Mig-17, Adam. This looks like a fun little plane for close in flying, fast enough to be fun but not going to need a huge area to fly in.
Nice to see something different for a change. Looked like you had fun. Banana hobby has some great planes. I have a few xfly models that are awesome. Really low prices for what you get. Thanks Adam.
Very nice flying and filming Team AV8R! I love silver warbirds but due to aircraft recognition training in my youth, MiGs never look right without a gun reticle image over the plane. 😁
Well Adam, here i am at sea watching your new jet fly…. Looks a very solid model indeed with a small parts count. Basic jet but in your hands a super flyer👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇦🇺
Pretty cool little ripper. I was thinking about the ballast issue. I wonder if you swapped out the music wire for elevator push rods with CF rods you'd reduce that tail weight.. Thanks for sharing this little plane with us.
Great video mine was damaged on the tail section with broken foam, no big deal just glued it back together. The real headache was the pushrods for the Elevator's was 30mm to short! not sure how i am going to get over that.
I ran mine on 4S for over 100 flights. It's got a good enough ESC to do it. However, you can't crank on the throttle for more than 3-5 sec or it will burn up.
Think about your statement for a second. If you can't crank on the throttle for more than 3 to 5 seconds without burning it up then it does not have a good enough ESC to do it. Why use 4s if you can't give it the beans and leave it there safely? I stand by my recommendation and that of the manufacturer...this is a true 3s airplane.
@@ModelAV8RChannel I think it's just too sluggish on 3S. I've tried them both, and I find these jets really need to fly on 4S. As far as going full-throttle for longer than a few seconds, you really shouldn't do that on any RC airplane. You could put in a 50-Amp ESC and if you go full throttle for more than 30 seconds you are going to have problems. I also live in Arizona where it is 110 degrees in the shade for 5 months out of the year, so that probably contributes to it. The ESC can only work if it can dissipate enough heat in a timely fashion. Most ESCs can do that, but not for an extended period of pulling 60+ amps. I've seen pilots burn up 100-amp ESCs trying to go full speed the entire flight. It's a matter of opinion and also flying style, I guess. I just like the extra speed and power when I need it, and the EDF in this airplane can handle 4S, so why not throw in a 50-amp ESC and do it?
@@thebunkreport Actually, there are many planes you absolutely can run at WOT until low voltage cutoff. It just depends on how much headroom and cooling is designed in. I've heard of torture test for new planes now where some run them back to back several times at full throttle until LVC. When they pass that test...that power system is approved. We are a trusted channel that is known for giving solid advice/instruction. We are addressing ALL model pilots when we do these reviews. Everyone is different. "Throttle management" means something different from pilot to pilot. The conditions vary...density altitude, etc. You are one guy that is doing something the manufacturer doesn't recommend and so far you're getting away with it. That may last, it may not. I have a responsibility to our viewers to recommend information that I know won't get them into trouble. There are many that have done what you are doing and burned the ESC or motor up. When you comment on our channel with a suggestion/advise my viewers may read...that goes against what I have recommended...I have to call that out and make sure they know I do not agree. Simple as that. Our review, and I have to stay on top of making sure that the information within...even in the comment section...is solid in my view. If you or someone else wants to do a review...you can advise whatever you want there, and if it bites some of your viewers in the rear...you can deal with them on that. The other thing you need to consider is that these companies DO TEST. Many think they don't...they don't know what they are talking about. Rating this plane for 3s and 4s would be a selling point...so why not do it? Because in the testing they saw where that could be trouble for customers, and that has proved correct for many that tried 4s. Yes, some are getting away with it, but some are not...that isn't good enough. This is a 3s rated EDF, and yes...you can run it a WOT for most of the flight on 3s and not burn anything up (In Georgia, which is hot/humid. Not guessing...I did, lol). If it isn't fast enough for someone I'd recommend getting a faster one, or change the entire power system out for a hotter rated one. The power system in the Habu SS 50mm is a 3s system as well, but much more powerful. There are also 4s rated Fan/Motor/ESC combos out there. So all due respect...you do what you want, but here...we recommend using 3s or changing the entire power system to one that you don't have to baby or question. In my position, that is the best and most responsible advise.
Been flying a 2s 690mm warbird, nearly 30 flights in, mostly without any gyro (only as3x like gyro during strong winds). Pretty comfortable now with the controls, doing rolls n loops. Only issue is with landing as its landing gear is rather flimsy, n can't land properly on grass (never took off the gear tho, as i dont want to scratch the belly/damage aileron servos) Tempted to get this as my 1st edf. Its a belly lander so shud be easier to land than a fixed gear type. Based on your review(n many others) , its seem to be quite promising. What do u think?
It's pretty easy to fly, but you might consider starting with a Habu SS 50mm. It has features to get you started with EDF's, but is extremely capable when you let her rip.
@@ModelAV8RChannel yeah I've seen your vid on it. It does rip thru the skies when pushed hard. Will consider it as well Thanks for your feedback 👍🏻 love ur channel btw , keep it up
I didn't use a gyro in this one, but if I did I'd start with a gain sensitivity of 1X, priority on both channels of 155, and 35% gain in roll, 50% gain in pitch. I'd feel it out, and adjust from there if necessary. If you want hand launch assist, activate SAFE and launch in SAFE. For what its worth, at our balance point with a straight forward launch at full throttle it flew out of my hands nice and level without it.
I recon this will have to join my 50 mm collection soon , have you looked at the xfly channel Adam on that twin 40mm f22 yet Adam, give it a look, G🇬🇧🛩
Nice, love it. Added 3/4 ounce dead weight? For what? just use lipo that is the same weight as 3s 2200 30c (180gr) + 3/4 ounce. Roughly 200gr. And enjoy longer flight time. :-)

Very nice flight Adam! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Tug! It was a good day all around.
The price and clear canopy is a win win in my book. Love the clear canopy 🔥
Yep, its a little more detail you usually don't get with a 50mm.
Mmm, love your vids.
I hope I get as skilled as you some time, looks like fun, I am still flying as dull a possible to keep my planes in 1 piece🙂
Thanks man! Remember this...if you're having fun it doesn't matter how you fly. Fun ain't ever dull.
Nice 50mm EDF that Adam!! Great review, well flown and well filmed Heidi 😀👍
Thank you Ian!
Nice flights and review of the Mig-17, Adam. This looks like a fun little plane for close in flying, fast enough to be fun but not going to need a huge area to fly in.

It is Jay. MiG 17's aren't done very often, and this is a nice simple size we all have room for...even me, and thats sayin' something! Lol.

It flies good Noel. I wonder how it will fly with cameras on it...
It would handle the cameras so well due to its size Adam. We are in thick fog at sea between Tasmania & Adelaide so no flying off the deck here LOl
Honest video, Adam. Nice flying.👍🏻🙂
Thanks Randy!
Looks like you had a lot of simple fun 👍
Cliff it was really fun.
Hi Adam nice flying it handle well with out the as3x now you know me I have to grab my airbrush more details lol good video and review ☺✈🛫🛬🪂✈👍👍
Thanks Frank. Oh I know...you'd have it hot pink or neon green in no time! Lol

Dude that thing is cool!
It's fun man. Mini me to Bentley's new one! Lol
A really nice presentation. I thought the 'scale appearance' during the flight was quite good!
Thank you! She does look good grooving through the air for sure...
Great inform as usual Adam. Great launches and flights, I do love the sound of this bird. You make look so easy 🫡. Happy New Year 🎉
Thanks Chris! Happy New Year my friend!

Dang! I hate when the shipping companies damage stuff. I'd contact BH and get them to send you the correct pushrods.

What Gyro setting on the AR630 spectrum receiver do you recommend for this so it dosnt nose dive into the ground? if you respond thank you.

How would i hook up an AR630 AS3X and Safe ? THANKS!!!! Love your channel

Watch the whole video. We explain that call and why a heavier lipo won't work. It isn't dead weight if it makes the plane fly well...
Would you recomand a 3c 2200mah 25c or 75c
We used 3s 2200's. Any C rating is fine. Not rated for 4s, that may burn it up.
Is it possibe to stabilize this plane?
You can put a stabilizer in any plane if you want.
Even without a rudder?
@henryhartsfield4574 sure, it will still correct roll and pitch.
Thank you so much!!! 😊
never heard of this brand……nice flying nonetheless…….
Thanks. Newer brand from BH.
