I didn't expect someone to say Love Live after all the mainstream anime mentioned 😭😭 i agree with the man when he said it's highly recommended. That anime was my lifesaver back in 2013 when I was in my lowest point, and I still listen to their songs from time to time. I attended a live concert once and it was one of the best memories in my life. The original Love Live girls will always be in my heart
That's such a coincidence! My grandparents live in the town where the first season of love life took place so I go there once in a while and see all the love live posters by the train station. I thought it wasn't that popular of an anime because I didn't really hear of it anywhere else, but now I am kind of glad that someone recognizes it!
1:46 someone said Gintama I'm so happy bc no one on the West side really watches it bc it's not as popular. I finally convinced a friend to give it a shot and now they're hooked, it's my top 3 favs all time ❤
Fun fact: Gintama is very(x infinity) popular in Japan. If you try searching 'Most handsome anime guys' in japanese, u can see at least 4 gintama men making it into the list
I grew up watching the dragon ball series, eventually I started watching the Japanese version so I didn't have to wait 6 months for an English dub/sub. I can understand about 40% Japanese. I also visit Japan often. Thank you Japan for your export of Anime. You have no idea how many people around the world are watching.
Yes I’m also agree. I think Spy Family of course it’s comedy and not gonna be serious. But still it has a very good and interesting plot. I myself watching it because of Loid Forger and only then because of cute Anya and Yor
For me too i LOVED IT TOO. First of all Yor being Assassin is SO GOOD ❤🎉I LOVED HER BEING A INDEPENDENT AND KILLER GIRL.Then the story was good too and CHARACTERS ARE BRILLIANT.I would also advice to Watch it.💛👍🏻🤝🏻👏🏻
I recommended reading the manga as well! I feel like a proud mother when I see how far this series has gone compared to no one not rlly knowing about it in 2020😀
I'm a 50-year-old man, but I'm really happy that young people are enjoying anime in their own way! My generation, of course, will watch the anime that young people watch, but there are excellent anime such as Gundam and Yamato that are now considered classics, so I don't think it's necessary to watch them. However, there is also a way of looking at it as an anime genealogy, so I am really enjoying it and getting excited about it! Good luck with Japanese anime culture!
gundam is one of my top anime. when I was a kid surprisingly I actually had red comet zaku and amaro's gundam figures. I have no idea where my mom found them since we have always lived in Canada. my favorite series are the original 1st season, 00, and iron blooded orphans.
I am shocked that Demon Slayer was watched by one person only out of all people being interviewed. I thought it would be very popular in Japan because in my country where i lived, it is very very popular. A lot of people are even waiting for the season 4 episode 1 before it even started. So this is a huge shock to me
@@Questioningmywilltolive They turned the movie into a 9 episode season which is technically season two, meaning that the arc with tengen is technically season 3
Hey Takashi! I thought more people would say Bocchi the Rock!, Spy Family, and Tokyo Revengers. Those titles were everywhere when I was there. The night Kessoku Band played in Shinjuku on the Vision board, it was very crowded and there was a sign near the actual "Starry" live house from Bocchi that says please stop taking pictures haha!
I was really pleased to see Evangelion being mentioned by the girl at 4:27. Such a timeless classic, which completely breaks down the mecha genre and explores the psychology of its main characters to such unmatched extent. I also recommend Steins;Gate, Re:Zero and One-Punch Man.
Original tv show was great, but the last few episodes were incomprehensible. The latest “Rebuild” movies (starting with 2.0) are so different that it doesn’t feel like the same show. It’s like a parallel reality version of the show. Since less of the Rebuild takes place on earth in the city, I kind of lost interest.
I'd like to see a video interviewing people about what food they like to have in Japan! Like places they like to visit or favourite snacks. Since food is a big part of why people come to visit Japan, I think that would be very interesting to hear about. You could ask both locals and tourists.
I remember when takashii still had only a few thousand subscribers, but now I can see how amazing the content he makes and how well his channel is doing, so keep up the work takashii!
My favorite ever is obv Dragon Ball because it is HUGE in Latin America where I grew up. I LOVE Kimetsu no Yaiba. I haven’t watched anime in years and fell in love with this one.
at 3:45 (ish) they're talking about cells at work... it's surprisingly very entertaining and I definitely would recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to give it a try.

Attack on titan for the third time!!😮 Glad people actually do love it.It's my favourite anime. But I feel so angry when some haters hate and spread hatings about this anime saying It's overrated
Big fan of this channel, always love hearing about japanese culture directly from japanese people. Also 1:53 As a goth lolita, seeing these two women's coords made my day, they both look stunning! I wish I could know where the goth lolita got her dress, it's gorgeous
Violet Evergarden is a very nice one. I've watched and read it. The woman becomes a letter writer and is good at her job. Also the new jotaro (with his daughter Joline !!!!) That woman is strong and fearless. The way the characters are standing and moving is very strange. My husband and I love mimicking their stances. It's very 80 - 90 ish type of drawing. / mushishi is a beautiful anime and so many others
kyoani are legends when it comes to emotional impact and cathartic experiences. they also made a silent voice and clannad, two life changing anime’s for me imo. clannad helped me understand the importance of time and family, the connections you make and how fragile things can be. a silent voice taught me about actions, how little or big actions can cause a ripple. dude, like in the ending it’s just 😢… so damn good. violet is good too because it teaches you empathy, like raw human emotions, you learn about all these people while violet slowly impacts them. i still cry on the episode when she meets with the play writer and the one with the mom and daughter 😫
a lot of Attack on Titan!! they got good taste! It's no surprise tho, AoT is really popular everywhere, even in my country almost everyone at the very least has heard of it.
Recommendations for new anime I would say "Vinland Saga" and "Dead Mount Death Play" have been really good. Especially Vinland Saga is interesting because it is about vikings and I am Swedish, so it feels a bit like part of my country's history.
The ones that really made an impression on me are the those who mentioned Violet Evergarden, Gintama, and LoveLive! I could attest to the man who said that LoveLive is highly recommended :'D I have watched Violet Evergarden as well and it's too excellent, in story and animation. Gintama, I kind of watching it years ago before I really got into anime but just episodes whenever I can watch, not in order nor very dedicated to know the story; let's say more like a pastime. Years after, I was blown away how awesome it really is, it has depth to my surprise because when I was young most episodes I have watched were funny ones so I thought that's just it..but not. Anyway, I would like to watch it properly soon! I like this video, gave me ideas what other people watch and seeing them talk with about it with enthusiasm is just refreshing and enjoying.
the backstory of main character is what totally changed my pov on gintama the day for the first time after watching something fictional bought tears to my eyes
Hello Takashi. Im an Indian-Canadian and ive loved anime and manga since a 5 year old back when they aired great shows like "Detective School Q, Inuyasha, Ayakashi Japanese classic horrors, Alice Acadeyand Cardcaptor Sakura" etc back in Animax. My current favourites are Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Mononoke, Princess Tutu, and Monogatari series. Your videos are always fun to watch as it gives us the authentic japanese perspective. ❤️
Recently started watching Death Note. I didn't watch any anime before but Death Note hooked me from the start and didn't disappoint after, just absolutely blew me away :)
As a long-time anime watcher, I highly recommend you to finish Death Note. I'M saying this because a lot of people dropped it after something unexpected happened in an episode. However, I'm also recommending you NOT TO watch Darling In the Franxx.
Well,I watched Spy×family,One piece, Naruto,Demon Slayer,Death note,Blue lock,AOT,Oshi No KoChainsaw man,My hero academia and Dr stone Among them my fav anime of all time is Demon Slayer ❤❤❤My fav character is Muichiro ❤️. And now Im watching Monster 😊
In such interviews I was really surprised why nobody watches Gintama, although it's said to be popular in Japan.. And finally, at least someone likes it😅
Inuyasha! I'm so surprised. I live in the US and didn't know about anime till I accidently stumbled across Inuyasha. I have all the manga and have seen the show 3 times. I thought no one watched it anymore. I'm so happy to know that I'm not alone (and not crazy.)
The anime the girls were tslking about was cells at work My teacher used to let my class watch it when we were well behaved and it was really nice so for those learning biology i think this would be a great start
Nice content Takashi san! For me, I just switch from Anime to K Drama from time to time. Netflix in our country is quite limited and VPN is too expensive. 😂 素晴らしい!
I love watching Anime! ❤ Right now, I'm watching "I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too!" And I just finished "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom" on Netflix. Enjoyed both of them! Also watched other anime! 😍💖😍
If you like those animes, you might want to check out That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I liked Realistic Hero.... Slime is an isekai too, except it's more fantasy oriented and the slime builds a town, then a nation out of nothing.
Jujutsu Kaisen is so good. Probably the best new anime out imo, the action is top notch. If had to say my favorite anime of all time I’d have to go with One Piece. But I’ll never forget Dragon Ball Z and Naruto, those were the first two that blew me away as a kid.
*Slam Dunk* is a 90's anime and it's pretty good. I rewatched the series just recently and I still find it super entertaining! Mitsui is my childhood crush. 😂😂😂
I watch Bocchi the Rock and it is perhaps the best anime I've ever watched. Also, i watched Buddy Daddies, the dark version of Spy x Family and currently Oshi no Ko
@SYMX2468 I don't like it either, i can see why people do and the characters are pretty enjoyable but the pacing etc is just not it for me, and i like alot of similar anime
@SYMX2468 The reason btr is praised so much is because it's originality and how much passion has gone into it. I'm pretty convinced it cannot be compared to k-on and such since the scope of these animes is totally different
I am currently watching Oshi no Ko (my favourite of the current season), LuckyStar (it got a new German DUB this year), and Sailor Moon (The original one, not Crystal, I never watched it before but it started airing on TV with 5 Episodes each Sunday, and I thought: if it is on TV right now, that might be the perfect opportunity to watch it) Thanks for the nice interview.
There's two different US dubs of Sailor Moon. There's the mid 90's dub by DIC with morality lessons by Serena called Sailor Moon says and they cut several episodes that American tv thought was too controversial for the 90's child. The other US dub is uncensored and doesn't contain the Sailor Moon says lessons at the end of each episode. It has goofy music and moon prism compact, instead of moon prism power. My first experience with Sailor Moon was the US DIC dubs, so when I watch the dubs on Hulu, it's doesn't bring back that nostalgic feeling of being preached to by Sailor Moon. Plus, the voice actors aren't the same. I miss the Dic Dubs from the 90's.😢
@@cgdragneel In Germany there‘s only the Original DUB from the 90s. They did a bit of „word censorship” back then where they replaced a few word with more child-friendly ones. And Germany got his own Opening song. (which is a banger ngl) But other then that the show is pretty much original (the video material is 1:1 the Japanese one).Sailor Moon was one of the lucky shows to not get censored. Other shows like Dragon ball also got heavily censored here.
I just got back from Japan and there was SO much Chainsaw Man merch. There was lots of Spy X Family too (and I respectfully disagree that it's only got Anya being cute, it's such a funny series). Surprised at the amount of Attack on Titan fans, and I had never heard of Blue Lock until a couple of Japanese people I met were telling me about it. Might have the check it out! Thanks for doing these interviews!
Greetings from Ukraine! 💙💛 Wow, Japanese ladies haven’t watched Cardcaptor Sakura… 🌸 All right, I would like to recommend AI no Idenshi and Made in Abyss. Also I did love Tengoku Daimakyou.
1:10 I actually kinda get this. They show us yor and loid and gives us the impressions of them both loving different lives while being together. But we never really see it. So it just focus on anya who is pretty cute and funny, and it feels like the anime has no substance. But I hope the writer focus on loid and yor later on.
Violet Evergarden is actually my favorite anime of all time. Beautiful story and is very different compared to most anime's that are out and popular (which are pretty much shonens). Currently watching Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. Can't compare the two yet as Witch From Mercury is not finished. I'll make my choice in July when the anime is done. Some of my other favorites are SAO, Kill La Kill, and The Ancient Magus Bride (no Season 2 spoilers pls, watching that after Witch From Mercury is finished)
the series was cool..but the middle movie didnt add much to her character..and i agree with people saying there is regression in the final movie..a shame..they could have explored violets character much more and have her learn her world even more..the series alone is fine though
@@Spazzfrom.1989 let’s see, it’s been a while since I’ve watched both films so my opinion of them is not fresh, especially the spin off. The spin off I believe was the one that was broken into two halves. I gave it a 9/10 only due to me liking the first half more than the second. I do agree that the movie disregarded a huge part of Violet’s story in the original anime which was figuring out the world around her and the emotions she is having in reaction to post-war and the loss of Gilbert. However I disregard it because it is a spinoff. I don’t even think the spin off focused on Violet being a Doll. It was mostly about Violet teaching Isabella how to be a lady, even tho Violet doesn’t know much about that department besides what she learned in the Doll academy. They are kind of trying to figure it out together, with Isabella taken back on how literal yet tender Violet could be. Again my mind is still very fuzzy about that movie. I believe I only saw it once or twice 3 years ago. It deserves a rewatch. The second movie, which is the anime’s true sequel, I kind of see why you say that but have to disagree. As an Auto Memory Doll, Violet writes about other people’s lives and emotions, turning their feelings into words and this shows during Violet’s last letter as a Doll. But the movie shows that Violet has been neglecting her own emotions and as a human first, former child solder second, she can only do that for so long. And her one true goal was to find the Major and express herself the best she could. So when she finds out he’s actually alive, all things went out of the window, quiet literally when Violet jumped out of that boat and ran to him.
@@sierrap6478 but violet was already neglecting herself in the middle movie..there was a moment where the girl wanted to ditch..and violet thought about it for a second then declined..and then the girl goes off to be a stay at home wife..stops writing..and violet just kind of stays the same..to me i just couldnt get what it added..like there was a moment..but then they said no. As for the real movie..that would have been fine..but the fact that they crammed the big decision into 15 minutes..and she leaves the guy who was caring for her without a word..and then it ends..i heard peopel were so upset that the studio made an official picture of them all visiting the island..the problem is though..violet looks docile in the picture..like a clueless little girl..and for some reason..the guy who owns the shop..looks annoyed and unsettled. Why? Because they never cared about the side character..think of the grey hair girl..at the start she wants to be top girl..but at the beginning she wants the same exact thing..despit being left in the dust by violet. She did have an episode for her story..but then its just all left..and the sad thing is that they nationalize all the postals and so shes out of the job..but yet she never grew anything..so the guy is abandoned by violet..and even in the picture is still angry looking..the girl is truly dusted in the end..and the two sisters in the 2nd movie..only meet on mail days..thats not sweet or touching..its lost time..and thats how i felt those movies were..lost time.. for example the friend who learns with violet as the teacher is married and runs into violet..but just like that its goodbye..but instead of using that moment and actually inviting her over..that could have been 20 mins of screen time of violet slowly getting her world rocked..but they just missed it with so many things. at the end it felt like they had violet isolate her love to an island..leaving behind a world of friends and family..an entire support network..for a memory of the past and a gut feeling that doesnt get fleshed out to the viewer other than a 10 minute screent time and like a few lines of script..weak script given the amount of things that should have been discussed..i remember going on reddit saying something about how i felt like the show gave of the impression that love was narrow and secluded..when it should be broad and vast..because bro..leaving the dude there on the ship with her luggage not a word..and the next scene of him is missing violet at the fireworks.. those movies missed epic character development for her.. Im not sure why they kept her static rather than dig into her more..because there was plenty more to do with her.. its prob been roughly a year or so since i binged them all.. but yeah i got no idea why the little sister hid from the big sister and didnt say hello..to me that makes no sense lol..anyways those are my thoughts
3:30 They must be talking about 働く細胞 ("Cells at Work"). This is my favorite anime as well since I'm a cancer scientist hehehe... Love the channel btw, my stepdad is Japanese and he and my mom like your videos on dating and foreign couples in Japan since they lived together in Japan for a few years as well (she is a white American).
I had to come back after thinking on things. I never mentioned my favorites, just mentioned 1 recommendation. I started watching anime with Gundam and Akira. I progressed with Ghost in the Shell and Vampire Hunter D. That's when I found my genre. I've tried lots of different anime over the years, too many to list, but now, even though I prefer manga versions, I am really enjoying Chainsaw Man (like everyone else, apparently), Jujutsu Kaisen, Tokyo Ghoul, Death Note, Promised Neverland. I like the dark content.
@@Thermalfusi0n I'm also a fan of the '98 version and love its vibes! But I think that Stampede does better in terms of storytelling - which makes sense since the manga was not finished when the og came out, while Stampede could be conceived with the whole story in mind. So I think someone who's not a regular anime watcher/an afecionado of old gen anime is more likely to enjoy Stampede better:)
In the end no one mentioned your lie in april for favourite, for me it is, though i will still be discovering new and interesting animes but i won't ever forget kaori just like kousie had promised..
Thank you for the interviews from everyone who agreed to share their thoughts and interests (or not) on anime. Anime is a good genre that works as well as Live-Action Films from Hollywood, let's say, in it's own way? The same could be said of Bollywood "Song & Dance" movies that are popular from India. Each is very different, but each gives something very enjoyable in terms of story and drama but with a different emphasis of addition. With Anime, not only can the stories be enjoyable but the art and animation can add a lot of extra interest. For non-Japanese, perhaps, also the Japanese culture and language is another area that is rewarding in the same way Bollywood songs might be enjoyable for aficionados of that genre of film? As for the lady that did not find Spy x Family anime very enjoyable, I would say the Manga is better as you can enjoy the drawing skills or draftsmanship more with that art style and equally the jokes work better with more time to take in the panels, than the anime allows, I would say? How things fit together and also each person's own preferences all interplay variously producing different reactions and different "takes". Bearing that in mind, Chainaw Man has a solid psychological depth imo, that is vibrant while portraying a story that is morbid. It's a fascinating combination if appreciated in that way? Likewise other anime have other such qualities to offer at their best or otherwise only shine as such to the given individual who sees it in that way. I could not answer the question of favourite anime or movie or novel, but if "push comes to shove" then it might be a story that I would never have imagined and could only enjoy thanks to the inventive and creative work of the original artists. I think anime (and manga) has a lot of those stories, fortunately. As for "putting my head on the block", in that case, a story where many different threads are woven together in a bizarre but enjoyable and skillful way would be the anime, Overlord. It may be about a fantasy game but it ends up being about a bit more than that.
Not surprised how Japanese often tend to watch the more classic stuff. I was in a language exchange event and a Japanese dude recommended me a manga called Kingdom, seemed quite hardcore 😅
Kingdom is very popular in the manga community and is one of the best selling manga in Japan in recent years. It's just not popular overseas because it hasn't had a good anime adaptation.
4:13 - I'm soo blessed and happy that a day has come that people would acknowledge that they watch Detective Conan and actually love it too!! 😭😭💕💕💕 (Eventhough it is very popular in Japan rather than in the rest of the world, but those young ladies acknowledging that fact in a TH-cam video satisfies my heart ❤❤ So pleased of them 🥰🥰)

Best version is the Abridged version.
For me, Spy x Family is very interesting and fun to watch. It always cheers me up and the story plot is also nice. I recommend it to everyone❤
Yes indeed, this is a really good Anime 👍
Yes I’m also agree. I think Spy Family of course it’s comedy and not gonna be serious. But still it has a very good and interesting plot. I myself watching it because of Loid Forger and only then because of cute Anya and Yor
For me too i LOVED IT TOO.
First of all Yor being Assassin is SO GOOD ❤🎉I LOVED HER BEING A INDEPENDENT AND KILLER GIRL.Then the story was good too and CHARACTERS ARE BRILLIANT.I would also advice to Watch it.💛👍🏻🤝🏻👏🏻
Anya was annoying
I recommended reading the manga as well! I feel like a proud mother when I see how far this series has gone compared to no one not rlly knowing about it in 2020😀

I'm a 50-year-old man, but I'm really happy that young people are enjoying anime in their own way!
My generation, of course, will watch the anime that young people watch, but there are excellent anime such as
Gundam and Yamato that are now considered classics, so I don't think it's necessary to watch them.
However, there is also a way of looking at it as an anime genealogy, so I am really enjoying it and getting excited about it!
Good luck with Japanese anime culture!
Some of the anime created back in the '80 have made history, just a few here:

I think the Anime they talk about at 3:20 is „Cells at work“ or „Hataraku Saibou“. Atleast that’s the only Anime I know that’s about blood cells lol

Hey Takashi! I thought more people would say Bocchi the Rock!, Spy Family, and Tokyo Revengers. Those titles were everywhere when I was there. I was really pleased to see Evangelion being mentioned by the girl at 4:27. Such a timeless classic, which completely breaks down the mecha genre and explores the psychology of its main characters to such unmatched extent. I also recommend Steins;Gate, Re:Zero and One-Punch Man.
evangelion is such a good anime. so well written!

Violet Evergarden is a very nice one. I've watched and read it. The woman becomes a letter writer and is good at her job. Also the new jotaro (with his daughter Joline !!!!) The ones that really made an impression on me are the those who mentioned Violet Evergarden, Gintama, and LoveLive!

I am currently watching Oshi no Ko (my favourite of the current season), LuckyStar (it got a new German DUB this year), and Sailor Moon (The original one, not Crystal, I never watched it before but it started airing on TV with 5 Episodes each Sunday, and I thought: if it is on TV right now, that might be the perfect opportunity to watch it)
Thanks for the nice interview.
I'm rewatching Sailor Moon, the o.g. too and it's on HULU sub and dub.
Other shows like Dragon ball also got heavily censored here.

the series was cool..but the middle movie didnt add much to her character..and i agree with people saying there is regression in the final movie..a shame..they could have explored violets character much more and have her learn her world even more..the series alone is fine though
CSM and oshi no ko might be my fav anime for this year!
Good to know there's some seasoned anime fans out there.
My recommendation for this season is definitely Trigun Stampede! Give it some love so we'll get a second season:))
it looks nice but i REALLY prefer the vibes of the original
@@Thermalfusi0n I'm also a fan of the '98 version and love its vibes! But I think that Stampede does better in terms of storytelling - which makes sense since the manga was not finished when the og came out, while Stampede could be conceived with the whole story in mind. So I think someone who's not a regular anime watcher/an afecionado of old gen anime is more likely to enjoy Stampede better:)
In the end no one mentioned your lie in april for favourite, for me it is, though i will still be discovering new and interesting animes but i won't ever forget kaori just like kousie had promised..

Well, they are popular
Yo. Woman at 06:33 got some taste. Violet Evergarden is a MASTAPIECE!
The anime they were talking about was "Cells at Work". Currently I am watching " Zom 100 " and " Hells Paradise "
Cowboy Bebop, Wolf’s Rain, Berserk, Erufen Rito, Great Teacher Onizuka, Zankyo no Teroru, Hajime no Ippo
2:01 I LOVE HER STYLE, W ANIME
thank you‼︎💕
7:48 I've watched so many emotional anime, but One Piece really gave me a roller coaster of emotions that I'm so invested to it.
Kingdom live action is also very good actually
I your channel man! Greetings from the 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
I like how shojou animes were also metioned, I really enjoy them they are like my comfort animes 🥰!
For me I'm watching Dr.Stone s2 Right now! 😆Love it so much 🙇🏻♀️✨

Sonar acquired looking forward to more nautical nonsense this season but I have to ask you WHY?
I was kinda surprised by the amount of Chainsaw Man. After watching this I think I need to give Slam Dunk and Blue Lock a try.
blue lock is pretty good, I’ve only seen the half of the first season but I would still give it an 8/10
@@cdsl7763 the managa is a lot better. or if u can tolerate the horrible cgi i guess its fine (i cant)
I love how people in Japan are so respectful ❤ . Visiting Japan is definitely on my bucket list. Love your content 💯
