Fun fact, just before they hit the stage their click-track and backings console broke down.... So they went old-school, without click and just listening to each other via their in-ear monitoring. This is also why Alex is counting off every song on his hi-hat. Hell of a lot respect to these dudes to just put on the show when everything is failing. Balls to the wall stuff. PRO's!! \m/

Yes props to them, but it's really a sad state when live music cannot be performed "live" without click tracks, backing tracks and all that bullshit. Rudy is such a beast that he shouldn't need a click anyway, and clearly he proved that.

I love Phil but it's not that hard if you're a good singer and use the proper technique in growls it's super easy to switch.
Don't know why people thing it's super hard to turn off a false chord.

@@ThatShitGood I don't really love blast beats, I just love how heavy deathcore is. Unfortunately, Whitechapel got really popular and decided to shift to more of a heavy metal vibe with deathcore vocals.

Death metal riffs, hardcore shouts, grindcore influences, etc.

Click track is either broken or off. Hence the drummer counting off the hi hat at the start of every song. The only thing that brings that is years of practice.
Easily one of, if not honestly the best vocalist of death metal right now IMO. Coherent, brutal, fast, can hold his notes. The whole band is stacked.
Agreed. And he’s CONSISTENT. Every night on tour he hammers through this material. Such a huge fan of this whole band.

I give this band credit, still amazing live and Phil is still on point
I much prefer their old stuff but I can appreciate the change in direction over the years and although I probably wouldn't see them live now it's cool that they're still about making music and they seem super tight live. Elitist and Dimentia slap super hard but I would love to hear more from the Exile era. Phil still sounds as brutal as ever. Glad this popped up randomly on my feed.
I donno man i love it. Its not the same boring blast beats with similar repetitive structure song after song. Its a really dynamic set list now. It keeps your attention.
@@mikabass Hey man, hope you're good. It all comes down to genre preferences. I'm fine with both eras of the band but I tend to gravitate more towards the older heavier stuff. If you like the newer stuff i'm all for it man, it's chill.

Man i actually prefer new gen Whitechapel not gonna lie. Somatic Defilement and This is Exile were hard but the Valley was a masterpiece instrumentally and vocally to me

Fun fact 2: this day was hot as hell, 37 degrees or so. It was one of the hottest summer in germany. And they played when the sun was near the highest point. We were all destroyed. The most people were searching shadow at the excavator. Really a bad time to play. And a bad time to watch.
They're from the south/Midwest states of the US, that's not too hot for them. Here in Australia, some places push 50 degrees Celsius.
