Trash. I don’t mind albums like this, but from certain bands, not Whitechapel. Their songs used to come with a saw blade for your enemies, this one came with a razor blade for your wrists.
This album is in my opinion Whitechapel's greatest achievement. I've followed the band since the self-titled and listened to each of their albums many times, especially the Valley and A New Era of Corruption, but this and The Valley hit differently. Kin is a breathtaking, melancholic journey with so much diversity that keeps me moving. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and beauty. Within the darkness and melancholy in this record, there's that positive, shining light of hope, strength of will and passion. This is a genuine, unique experience. Whitechapel have evolved beyond the norms of the genre and created their own formula. This is the result of a decade of experimentation and progression. Congratulations on this achievement, Whitechapel and anyone involved in the creation of this masterpiece. 10/10 from me.

Been listening to this band for over 10 years now. And the evolution of their music feels like the most natural progression of almost any band. They're not forcing themselves to either maintain their old school sound nor does it feel like they're selling out with the clean singing. They were able to go with the flow as they've aged but also maintained sticking to their roots. Truly masterful artists as a band. 🤘🖤🤘

I'm dying to hear news on anything new from Currents..that being said i recently finally gotten into whitechapel last year after not liking their older stuff before for some reason, now indo. And this album is so much better then i was expecting. It's oneof the best albums this year. and this year is Stacked! Im.nlw so excited for volumes, Imminence, silent planets albums this month!!
Never listened to this band before but was curious after Lost Boy. This album is the BEST album of the year EASY! Absolute masterpiece. So much variation and emotion. I just can't pick a song i liked the most.
I've been listening to Whitechapel for years now, primarily since their self titled album in 2009. Phil's clarity and intensity has always inspired me musically and this album is no different. I can't wrap my head around how much this group has grown. Instrumentally they are on top of their game, composure is golden, and content is powerful. I was compelled to purchase their vinyl yesterday, just from hearing the first song. First time for me on that one and now I have to spend more money on a turntable... thanks guys.
This is easily Whitechapel’s most dynamic and emotional album to date. The increased emphasis on groove, soloing, and experimentation has benefited them greatly.
Really special. I will find you and Kin are especially amazing for me personally. Solo in Kin is so perfect for the song, guitar sings like something you would hear dimebag play....amazing
The evolution of this band is amazing. The progression till this far is too brilliant. The album is emotional and relatable. Phil's singing is too good and you really can't hate this style. Absolute Master piece . Hail WhiteChapel
whitechapel's magnum opus.. i've seen you guys evolve since 2009. Saw you live once, wish I could've seen ya'll live more. Keep bringing that deep south heat.
I had so many emotions while listening to this album and in the end it´s perfection. I mostly wonder why there are ninjas cutting onions but however this is 11/10.
This is why Whitechapel is my favorite artists of all time. They never disappoint me and I've been a fan ever since I was a kid first listening to Possession. This is a new level and no band either current or future will ever come close to what they have accomplished. 🤘
I wasn't even a fan until my son and nephew started sending me a song here and there. 'Saw is the Law' really peaked my attention. Then they sent the slower stuff. Then, as Spotify's algorithm does, more and more Whitechapel stuff started popping up, and I stopped "not liking" it and began tolerating it as it played. Enter "Kin"; this is really, really good (mostly). Although it's still not my preferred stuff, so much on this album is so good that I have to say that I'm a fan, and the more I listen to this album, the more I like it. Great job, guys!
This is a masterpiece. I’m happy they went this direction and didn’t go the Slayer route and do the same thing for 3 decades. The guitar work on this is stellar. This is how you write and implement tasteful solos.
I have never seen such a positive reaction to adding clean vocals to such heavy music, I love this sound and couldn't be happier to see the metal community rally around such an enormously immense group!!!
Whitechapels' signature Fortin Blade overdrive pedal is so powerful and amazing, it's changed the sound of my 7 string with tosin abasi fluence signature pickups and 6505+ rig with ampeg cabinet (loaded with celestion G12T-75 speakers which the 1960a marshall cabinets were loaded with essentially a celestion Greenback on steroid) so much. I never run my rig without it now! I can hear it on these recordings! Skal
Whitechapel was one of my favorite bands in early 2010's, they were part of my days, I listened to their first three albums so much, then I stopped a few years ago because i didn't like the sound of the self titled, a bit more Our Endless War but wasn't the same thing for me. Then I listened to Orphan, and now listening to the full album I can say this is my favourite album. Knowing Phil's past I cried a lot reading some of the lyrics, listening to this album is like finding an old close friend after years, he is now grown up and I love him a lot. Thank you guys for this awesome piece of art
I dont want to speak too soon, but I think this one of the best albums I've ever heard. Its very unpredictable, with a great balance between the heavy and melodic. The ending track is such a good closer.
Been following some of these guys since circa 2004, before WhiteChapel. It's been a true pleasure not only to see them refine their craft but also to see some good dudes from East Tennessee thrive. Good job.
Superb work by these guys! I’m an old dude in his 50’s and this album resonates with me big time. Great mix of heavy riffs and acoustic plus the songwriting and of course vocals, drums etc…love the concept album style…dang now I need a 7 string guitar!
To anyone that hates this because it isn't purely heavy.. you're the Blumhouse of metal fans. No depth. No character. No progression. It's like a serial killer who kills because people need to die and old age isn't fast enough. My recommendation? Stop wasting your time hating everything and thinking anyone gives a shit that you're always angry. We don't. We REALLLLLLLLY don't 🙂
I cannot express how much I love this album. This is a pure masterpiece. And I say that as of the word "masterpiece" were rarely used. Such a fucking amazing album.

Nothing wrong with liking both Death Cab and Whitechapel, in fact, I've seen both live and both are amazing
@@blakemaddox3681 I agree totally, just used them as an idea of her music type haha. Death Cab isnt my cup of tea but they are good at what they do. Im going to see Whitechapel on their 2022 tour for sure
Yeah this shit had me longing for people I've lost...pretty emotional album. 11/10 for sure.
Change it up even more and be a fan of the Fishmans and Whitechapel lol
This is it. This is the sound I've been searching for my whole life
I think I found my new favorite album of all time guys, I genuinely do. This literally takes most of my favorite music elements and blends it all together beautifully over some of the best songwriting I've ever heard.
Bravo lads 🔥🙌
Isnt it incredible when that finally happens?! I found that with Currents. Currents is that band, that sound I searched for all my life. And the vocals, lyrics i relate to on a spiritual level.
@@forevermarked5826 I'm not big on deathcore, but man this album is awesome.
Brother try rivers of nihil new album " the work " i think it'll touch ya too
@@spencer6709 Already did, it's good but not my taste
Bro check Sumatra - Heliocratic Infinity, its the album of my life, hope u like it.
Masterpiece of an album
Legendary. I'm so happy this album is a part of my life. So blessed we are..
Never listened to this band before but was curious after Lost Boy. This album is the BEST album of the year EASY! Absolute masterpiece. So much variation and emotion. I just can't pick a song i liked the most.
I Will Find You is a perfect album opener. Starts like Borknagar, then starts throwing elbows~
Best album of hardcore music ive ever heard
This is easily Whitechapel’s most dynamic and emotional album to date. The increased emphasis on groove, soloing, and experimentation has benefited them greatly.
Thank you Phil. Thank you Whitechapel.
This is literally Opethcore, and that's why I love it !! This new era of Whitechapel is the best ever !
as if Opeth still had their death metal vibes
@@immolateimproved6936 hahahahaha yup!!
@@immolateimproved6936 still better than this lol
“Opethcore” ? No. It’s matured Whitechapel. They’re still Whitechapel.
i lost count now, how many times i've listened to the whole album, at home, at work ...
To Phil and the rest of the fellas in the band!
OMFG!!!!! Legendary and Amazing 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
What a masterpiece!
Hahahaha well played my brother
This album is Heaven
This is why Whitechapel is my favorite artists of all time. They never disappoint me and I've been a fan ever since I was a kid first listening to Possession. This is a new level and no band either current or future will ever come close to what they have accomplished. 🤘
fIRST TIME i HEARD THIS BAND & IT'S EXCELLENT.
This album is awesome! A masterpiece!
I'm officially obsessed with this album. That didn't take too long.
“Without You” is the most beautiful track on this album
This is a masterpiece. I’m happy they went this direction and didn’t go the Slayer route and do the same thing for 3 decades.
The guitar work on this is stellar. This is how you write and implement tasteful solos.
I have never seen such a positive reaction to adding clean vocals to such heavy music, I love this sound and couldn't be happier to see the metal community rally around such an enormously immense group!!!
the array of emotions that cascade over me while listening to this album is something special. You guys are outstanding musicians
Skal
This is by far some of their best work yet !
This is a cool ass album 🤘, and thank you Metal Blade for uploading a full album video of it.
My wife and I are bringing our son to the Atlanta date for his ninth birthday and he/I couldn’t be more stoked!!! This album is perfect.
Alex Rudinger is the perfect fit for this band... WOW!
If somebody would tell me Whitechapel will do melodic album with clean vocals and would laugh at them.
Am not laughing now, am singing along.
I cannot express how much I love this album. This is a pure masterpiece. And I say that as of the word "masterpiece" were rarely used. Such a fucking amazing album.
Just when you needed a ballad for a breather, they threw it in, and make it heavy at the end anyways. Great pacing, keeping on climbing the mountain~
I’m a bit late to this album, but it is incredible! The emotions, lyrics, and musicianship are top notch. I can’t get enough of this. Thank you for making this amazing work of art.
I'm happy to live in a time where I got to see this band from self titled to kin. And this album made me cry. A bloodsoaked symphony hit me hard just because i can relate so it made much more of an impact to me. Forever this is one of my favorite bands. Thank you for making my teen hood amazing to adulthood. You guys have no idea what. im pact you made on 13 year old me to 25 years old now. I'll always support whitechapel till the end of days.
The album was barely released, I listened to it in its entirety, and it's the best deathcore album I've heard this year.
Wasn't into this album when it came out. Liked a couple songs. Now I love the whole thing. Our endless war is still the best though
An absolute masterpiece, this album hits different!
Different is good sometimes. Not the case here. This album is weak and too "southern"
@@christopherkilgus6740 you couldn’t be more wrong!
@@christopherkilgus6740 move to San Francisco with that low IQ comment. “Southern”…okay bud
Not fan of there style change ,i saw them live right before covid there was no singing the whole show, now most of the album is all soft, melodic, good music yes, just not into seeing them lose there edge
@@knowon-cv6uf We all have different taste. I'm personally going through an MS diagnosis and this band has literally saved my life. They give me strength to push forward
Phil brought me to my knees with this album I've been a whitechapel fan as far as I can remember growing up alone I always could count on whitechapel so really I wasn't alone truly whitechapel is my all time favorite band ❤ keep up the hard work
So glad they brought Rudinger onboard! He compliments everything so nicely and bring some serious energy!
Alex killed it man! Kin hit me so much harder than I expected; I can feel every note of that solo. Thank you for sharing your music, Whitechapel. \m/
Since 3 months this is my daily listening. Awesome album.
thank you metal blade for supporting all these bands and us!
I already listened to the album and let me say that I never thought Whitechapel would ever make such a beautiful song like they did with Kin..
The solo in Kin goes full Steve Vai. I was blown away from this album. Knew of them before The Valley but both of these albums has hooked me as a fan. This is exactly what I was looking for in music and I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with next.
I continue to fall in love with this band more and more, with each release...
Mark Lewis!!! I salute you sir. You have truly been able to capture this bands essence and heaviness in all aspects.
Metal Blade Records. Thank you for letting this band continue to grow. Such a welcome thing. Amazing talent, refining itself and aging like a great fucking wine.
Now to dream of a Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy tour...
I loved this band ever since finding them in 2010. Its crazy how talented they are. Kin showcases the masters at there craft and ending it with the most beautiful title track outro. 10/10 \m/ Also, im ready for album 9 :) I heard its gonna be heavy
You're just the type of fan we need in the metal world today my friend. Metal horns up to you! 🤘🏻
This album is phenomenal.
A new milestone in music, period! What Whitechapel have created here on Kin and through out the entire journey of their discography yet is truly unparalelled.
🧢
I never heard Whitechapel before this livestream and had my mind absolutely blown when I heard this album wtf. Greatness
Never been the biggest fan of whitechapel, but I can't stop listening to this album it's incredible!
Está buenisimo Dios mío, Whitechapel va en cada escalada con cada trabajo que saca, full sentimiento y el típico salvajismo desgarrador que los caracteriza, ÉPICO
I can't wait for you to come to Hungary .I really want to feel your energie and power live !🤓🤘
Holy hell that was breathtaking! The first track alone had me holding onto the edge of the seat!
The Valley set such a high bar for me that I didn't expect this to top it, but it did. Love this direction so much.
This is absolutely gorgeous! The emotional roller coaster ride from this album was insane! I take my hat off to Whitechapel. I’ve been a fan from day one and this album is so amazing! Phil’s clean vocals are jaw dropping! 🔥🔥🔥
This was my 3rd time giving Whitechapel a chance, and they stroke! I'm in love with the album, I've listened to previous albums, not repeatedly, lack of interest... but this one I've listened the whole week. Great JOB im hooked! Those clean vocals man.. it's beautiful
The is a fucking masterpiece of an album and most definitely the album of the year for me. If an album can bring tears to my eyes it is great. This album makes me cry so hard at times. I feel like I can relate the the lyrics perfectly as they seem to match up with the rough life I have lived. Thank you for this work of art. Thank you so much.
In all sincerity this is the darkest time in my life and this album came at the right time. It’s literally the the only thing keeping me alive
Love this album....kinda has a tool/perfect circle vibe when Phil starts singing. Then goes right back into the typical whitechapel gnarly breakdowns. Fucking gold🤘
So great right? Some of the clean vocal parts remind me of Katatonia!! 🤘🏻
Yeah I definitely get Alternative Prog vibes from this album.
