Something like this really holds up after time, compared to debates, where everyone is simply looking for who had the best one-liner. It's very respectable that Andrew Yang would go all around the political spectrum to share his viewpoints, while also having sincere and honest conversations.
Ben Shapiro is no one special, just an opportunist who's figured out that "right-wing" contra to anything that remotely has a left lean to it, earns big money! Nothing more! You could easily do the same.

And why is the interviewer putting forth the worst fears and platitudes of white people? We don't want to take over anything! And give me my 40 acres and my mule in 2020, at 2020 prices, no interest or late penalties required! I'll make it do what it do!
CLASSIFIEDGTA black people are still facing disadvantages from systems that were developed when white people saw black people as less than human. One of these is the prison system. Watch the 13th on Netflix. They have really solid evidence from administration workers to audio tapes. The drug war was also a huge disadvantage to the black and Mexican communities. They not only labeled gangsters as terrorists, they made a specific law where people would get more time for doing crack than someone who did cocaine. Basically the same drug. Lower income communities saw more crack since it was cheaper and richer communities saw more cocaine since it is expensive. Black man is more likely to get pulled over. This is because the dehumanization towards brown folks throughout the 1900's Eisenhower had a private screening to a racist film depicting a black male being violent, and animalistic. That film basically reawakened the kkk. I forgot the name of the film. When the slaves were freed, they weren't actually free. Most of them broke, couldn't start businesses, couldn't get good jobs. They worked for their owners once again. The owner would charge them large amounts of money basically putting them in extreme debt basically becoming slaves again. This most definitely put afro Americans at a disadvantage that has carried on for centuries. So yes black People should receive 40 acres and a mule not 40 ounce an a pit bull.. bullshit..

Same here from Denmark. I wish we had implemented the UBI first, but now it seems that America is on their way to show the rest of the world how it’s done.
Lol, I saw this guy on Tucker Carlson several times. When Tucker Carlson says, "I couldn't agree with you more"---there is no way the left will give him a chance. The left is already criticizing him because he is getting "white nationalist support." at first glance, his UBI seems ridiculous. But when asked, "How much will that cost? How can we pay for it?" Andrew Yang is an absolute genious. I dont think ANY other politician that i have ever seen on the left or right would have been able to go through such a controversial interview, and still be calm, collected, and react to EVERY single question with facts, logic, a plan forward, and hope!
Bahaha, this interviewer is used to nonblack people cowering and acting desperate to appear nonracist. Yang knows he's talking to a delusional person and he just sticks to the facts but doesn't stir the pot or play what essentially amounts to reverse identity politics. This is what we need in a president.
The fact that Yang was able to come out of this interview looking like a champ under such sensitive racial topics is pretty impressive. Hes prob my front runner on the left and against Trump? I'd opt for Yang
100% agree! Yeah I think people are focusing too much on the interviewer. People should focus on the fact that Yang is just so good at answering any question that is thrown at him from basically every political angle, whether is a smear or a geniuine question. His ideas and down to earth passion are what this world needs.
Yang will destroy everything Trump worked for so if you voted Trump and then vote Yang then vote for another Trump like president one day then reverse again with a yang like one youre by definition insane.

In his other interviews, Yang is opposed to identity politics because it doesn’t completely address all issues without creating new ones. He is a man that wants the best for ALL Americans in a natural and nondiscriminatory way. Although he agrees that people come from different backgrounds, he is trying to unite America rather than separate it with identity politics
I'm really black and not a white man faking like I'm black. And growing up around other blacks I know for a fact that no real black people are going to turn down getting $1,000 a month. Only old white people that are Trump voters would turn down getting $1,000 a month
"Not people of colour, black people." Well, to what end. I'm a progressive. Pretty into identity politics myself, if I may put it that way. But this guy just comes across as trying to "catch" Andrew out. It's annoying and unproductive. He literally just said that he agrees with the moral case for reparations but the best way forward for society that materialistically help people (INCLUDING BLACK PEOPLE) is the freedom dividend. Goddamn it. Learn to listen.
Interviewer is representing ADOS; and ADOS is for African Descendants of Slavery ONLY, and ONLY REPARATIONS for ADOS. Yang is walking into the Lion's Mouth, and managing to be respectful and understanding. He did very well under very difficult conditions.
People of color didn't experience slavery, Jim crow laws, pole taxes, banking that as a rule (and a law)charges them more interest despite income or credit score. People of color as a term doesn't address a deliberate white supremacist system it's not to say that system hasn't done bad things to immigrants that aren't us citizens and Japanese Americans during world war ii and native Americans. As a black person I can see that it is inflammatory to propose things for black people, but it's not for gays, immigrants and saying people of color diminishes the impact this society continues to have on us and the fact that we don't matter. The midwest matters the most in the election despite having way less people, but a higher per capita white population. Black people are only called Americans in the Olympics. Why not call us African American during that too. Working class never means blacks. American as a term only means European descendants.
MerK Legend Data can be intrepid with subjective bias approach. Data can be manipulated. Example, gun crime data are manipulated to take away your rights to have guns and if they could. They will eliminate the 2nd amendment. Base on @Eric comment. He poses critical thinking skill.
I’m a black viewer and this interviewer made me feel uncomfortable FOR Yang. From him cocking his head up to him right from the start of him talking, to pressing him about reparations for black people, to correcting the man for saying people of color. 🤦🏽♂️ And what was that he said at the start of the interview? Mhm 👀🙄 I don’t think Yang should even have to feel pressured to believe in this idea of black reparation. He’s absolutely right. No financial means is going to make the situation okay. Not a dollar, not a trillion, not even a number so high the word hasn’t been thought of. The means of white people making anything better is simply promoting policies that help the black community. Attack the wage gap is definitely a significant part of that. By having programs like the freedom dividend you’re able to close that gap for all without causing racial tensions. Black people of today aren’t owed anything for their ancestors being enslaved. We’re simply owed equality that includes financially that has pushed us back from the years throughout history even beyond slavery that have made us worse off in large numbers. Let’s talk about governments making communities that were predominantly black attractive by overhauling neighborhoods for rich people who are predominantly white to have that downtown living in expensive condos. Let’s talk about how schools that are predominantly black are still more underfunded to this day. There is so much wrong that’s going on, but telling a man to get the government to write us a fat check because we’re black is not the way. What really is a single check just provided to black people is going to do? Will a significant amount of black people start businesses and get together to make our communities significantly better. Can that even be sustained in the future for our children’s children? Reality is that black people can manage to do that with consistent UBI coming in year after year. We also need to learn to stick close together like a lot of foreign cultures tend to do. Y’all know the stereotypes people like to use. You see a whole extended family of foreigners grouped together in a house to be able to afford to live comfortably, but you have black families scattered throughout the projects turning to gang and criminal activity to support a family. Meanwhile if every adult got $12,000 and grandma, grandpa, mom, dad all stuck together to really help their children that’d be a collective household of around $48,000/yr on top of the income they receive from working. A whole block could collectively work together to multiply that to make necessary house improvements, create a legitimate housing community with security system. Then this could catch on to several blocks and they could all pitch in to make improvements to the park a recreational center or create one if it doesn’t exist there. I’m sure if this UBI actually makes it through legislation so many black neighborhoods won’t do this. But that is ultimately the necessity for our people that the government can only provide the initial seed. We have to nourish that seed and allow our collection of trees to grow healthy.
I think we deserve our original 40 acres & a mile. Translate that into today's world would be a house and a means to make money. Say legalize marijuana and give black people away to have an easy foot into the door to start our own businesses considering they use it to destroy our communities. Once it's legal, we should use it to build them back up. However, I believe the black people that have been unjustly victimized by our criminal justice system should IMMEDIATELY be released, records expunged and they should get some monetary reparations which can be quantified in their case.
BravoSixZer0 there’s a key difference in the Japanese and Jewish reparations compared to a proposed African American reparation. The people who were affected in those are still alive. They actually experienced the trauma. African Americans today didn’t experience slavery. And there are many benefits in place for minorities that many people seem to discredit, such as schools accepting minorities over whites who have the exact same grades. I’m fighting for equality, but it seems like many people are just fighting for their own culture or race.
Yada I agree that any African American imprisoned for pot should easily get reparations when weed is finally federally legal. I don’t agree with giving reparations for slavery, due to the fact that we’ve moved so far past that point. And I believe any amount of money will not fix the problems that go on in said communities

I became a Yang supporter after his Joe Rogan interview, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with him as a candidate, and how he is more than willing to tackle both conservatives and liberals on their own territory and bring them together.
This interviewer guy kept trying to make it about race when it’s not, and I could sense the hesitancy in Yang’s voice, trying to appeal to him while also addressing the very real class problem, and not being divisive. Running for president is hard!
Get a Life it’s never been about class poor white felons have it much easier finding a job and getting loans than a black felon when they are the exact financial situation
You mention poor white felons vs poor black felons as related to loans but fail to mention resources, credit ratings, past or current employment status, etc,., which are basic prerequisites for loans.
It is about race! If you don't believe that you need to educate yourself without letting your gut reaction take over. Let alone this channel is about racial issues. Of course he's going to make sure the most pressing issues are asked about and clarified. I think the interviewer didn't give him enough credit. Very few politicians until this candidacy has even acknowledged systematic racism exists like yang has.
Interviewer was terrible. I'm black and I like how he wanted get Yang to speak to black people specifically but it came of as a very unbalanced interview since he kept the questions on that. He is the President so he must think about everyone naturally
I think the point of the interview was to speak about politics involving black people since typically, they feel excluded/negatively impacted by the government.
I thought this was America and he was talking about bettering Americans lives. If we talk about breaking everyone up into individual groups then let's help every other race that was put into slavery or otherwise discriminated on such as Irish, Native Americans, Chinese...excreta. stop deciding and start working together.
Yang was awesome at answering and being careful not to offend this tool of a interviewer. Only reason I watched the whole video is I enjoy watching him interact with all types of people with different opinions and he still gets his message across. He has had interviews with Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, Bill Maher, and many others. Easily the best candidate, that people don’t know enough about. I tend to agree more with republican views, but I’d easily vote Yang over a republican 2020

YexaC I don’t need to give you a time stamp, you can find the reparation discussion yourself. It’s obvious by the fact that he never said he would give any reparations despite the interviewer pressing him multiple times about what black specific reparations he’d be dolling out. Yang danced around the question and kept nodding to the dividend as a good first step toward helping the black community meet the white average. It’s obvious to me from Yangs behavior that he has no intention of creating any reparations, something I’m not in favor of either.
A lot of his ideas have a social like view. He's a Bernie Sanders. I don't like that one bit. I don't like people who label themselves "democrat" socialists. It's still a socialist by the end of the day and I'm not going to get boned by one
Extremely straight forward. Clearly says no or yes. Then EXPLAINS why he feels that way. Then backs up his perspective with statistics, history, and personal experience.
I'm a proud Republican and a proud American conservative and Yang still has my vote. We need more people like him in office even if I disagree with some of his policies. We need to look beyond party politics and Yang does that and more.
Eh, if you actually consider how serious black voters take their vote and place their trust in someone who's going to stand for one of history's most oppressed racial groups then you'll understand why his interview tactics were on the offense. Yang did well, it's even a bigger plus to have a difficult interview for a candidate like Yang because he's not a politician, running from left field, and this is perfect for him to be taken seriously.
Well to be fair, it is the Root. If you are going to enter an interview with a platform dedicated to african american news, prepare to talk about black issues. However, I will say that Root doesn't really pair well with my liberal roots. To me they are the reactionary rebel child that split away from common sense and is trying to find their own ground. There is an element of sound identity politics in them. But there is also elements of TMZ in them as well. If we talk about repearations, America, Spain, England, France all owe trillions to Latin American countries for the wealth and lives they’ve taken to build the world we know today. Many civilizations deserve reparations. African Americans were just done hard by Modern America.
I’m black and I hate how stuck on reparations black people are. America has so many issues right now and we need to start addressing those before we can even attempt to tackle reparations. Also, I personally think reparations were already given to us in the form of grants for inner city development over a span of decades. Where did all of that money go?? Into the pockets of NAACP board members most likely. You ask for reparations, and that’s most likely what will happen again. Groups like them are a joke and just as corrupt as the NRA. Johnny The Pencil Slayer It is a shame we can’t just say “Americans”, but until there is true equality there has to be talk about plans for specific pockets of the population. Although you and I may avoid divisive behavior and language, there are very real issues with division in this country that can be seen in issues like wealth inequality and police brutality. While I don’t love how the interviewer approached that conversation, the intent is justified.
The interviewer seemed combative, lol. This is why the left keeps losing in this country. They nitpick and get disappointed with every candidate that isn't 110% aligned with their views. Yang has the right vision, is data oriented, and focused on real solutions, much more than any other candidate. Andrew Yang 2020!
No he's tired of political BS without specific answers to address specific issues that may be unique to them. You might consider it picky but he wants to make sure the politician has thought through things about his people and this constituency.
@@hillsane9262 But Yang answers that his policies help disproportionately to less well off communities. That 1000 matters way more to people of all races who live paycheck to paycheck, he is for decriminalized marijuana and wants to pardon nonviolent marijuana drug charges, He is actively talking about dealing with opioid crisis. How much do you want from a guy on a thirty minute interview, when he has already done bunch.
He’s just a tough interviewer who asks critical questions, this should be a good thing because it keeps politicians on his toes. Yang did a great job answering him imo, as they say, adversity reveals greatness

No he didn't. He was tough, as he should be. Yang isn't a baby. He's a grown man running for president of the US. He's not afraid of some hard questions.
Desecration The black community, much to their chagrin, is not unique and therein lies the problem with your demands. The majority face 2 oppressions, oppression based on race and oppression based on class. Not all face class oppression because 54% of blacks live middle class or higher and 25% of the remaining 46% live working class in markets with the ability to move up into the middle class and higher which leaves only 21% who live in poverty vs the 11% of whites that do. Those that face both types of oppression are not unique in that every other minority (excluding lighter skinned Asian minorities) faces as much or more oppression. Hispanics and latinos outpace blacks in low education and housing options. Most outpace them in economic well-being. Native Americans tend be the most prejudiced against in any number of statistics and often get left out of racial statistics altogether if that tells you anything. We have a serious problem in America where it appears that if you’re a minority then your chances of reaching the white average are low and that’s a problem we should definitely address. There’s nothing but anecdotal evidence, however, to suggest that blacks face more than any other minority and their demand to get special treatment will only damage their image with the other minority’s which isn’t a situation they want to be in. Minorities should unite together to fight for fair treatment across the board, there’s no reason that your race should determine wether or not you’re more or less likely to be as well off as the average white person.
Did he just ask the Asian man if he experienced racism?? I completely understand the question might be asked for general inquiry when we all know the answer, but...really?
@@williamcleland2369 I am certain you cannot relate but for black people we are ONLY seen as our race not having the luxury of going through life as just a human being. The Black vote can in many cases be the deciding vote in the democratic primary. Andrew Yang knows this or he would not have wasted his time with this interview. In addition, this channel is after all The Root and is largely viewed by an African American audience so issues that concern the black community such as reparations will be discussed. Sorry not sorry. So yeah chill maybe? Try and broaden your horizons. Or not. I know your heart is in the right place, but that kind of uncompromising support is how Trump Derangement Syndrome gripped the nation (well, _some_ of it) after 2016. It would be really great if Yang won, but this campaign is more about raising his profile/getting people used to these ideas so we can hopefully move forward with them in the near future (God knows the current mainstream Dem candidates are too focused on gladhanding and paying hollow lip service to whatever issue their campaign managers decide will improve their polling results that day). In a field of NPC candidates, Yang is somehow capable of being a problem-solver who can express a sense of urgency without descending into blatant fear-mongering, and we need people (Congress included) to see that his ideas are the future, and that's where *we* are going--regardless of whether he wins or loses.

Mhm 👀🙄
I don’t think Yang should even have to feel pressured to believe in this idea of black reparation. We have to nourish that seed and allow our collection of trees to grow healthy.
amen
You know what, you just turned me into a Yang fan and I agree with everything you said.
As a black man to another black man, this ain’t it. Trying to press the black card way too aggressively and excessively, chill bruh yang is for the people (everyone).

My vote was going to Bernie , but after watching a few of this mans interviews, it's going to Yang.
I'd like to see a Sanders/Yang ticket. Give Bernie 4 years then Yang/Ocasio Cortez in 2024.

This guy is literally agreeing to everything and is flip flopping. You’d be lying to yourself if you think Yang is a substitute to Bernie’s progressive push and policies. This is centrist bs
You’re EXACLTY right. It’s always been about class for thousands of years. But they think if they make it about race then we won’t focus on the money.
I'm glad most people are calling out this interviewer for this.
Interviewer was terrible. I'm black and I like how he wanted get Yang to speak to black people specifically but it came of as a very unbalanced interview since he kept the questions on that. He is the President so he must think about everyone naturally
Yeah I feel like black people was the topic of the interview, so that's fine, but the interviewer kept it on topic in a very strange way.
Roman Ricketts the interviewer wants two Americas. Very strange.
I think the point of the interview was to speak about politics involving black people since typically, they feel excluded/negatively impacted by the government.
Okay I see what ur saying now lol
Your comment was BRILLIANT! Thank you. Yang is next LEVEL! And I hope folks are waking up to this new paradigm shift in the political landscape. Yang is of the 21st century! Therefore we need new tools new language new forms of problem solving that HAS to include all of us. What he Yang calls human capital. Who is paying attention! A REMARKABLE mind this man's has. FRANKLY he blows away EVERY interviewer! Surpasses them! He wants to get to work! We are broken and been stuck in a post industrial construct in a Technological shift this will NOT work.
Why was he a tool of an interviewer? He asked all the right questions don't you think?
So I been reading up on mr Yang and this cat
1. Does not attack anyone
2. Addresses the issue and suggest a solid plan and solution
3. Shows compassion
4. Knows how to debate
5. Is a unifier
6. Truly cares for all US citizens
7. Is thinking of our future
8. Wants money in our pocket not the governments
I think we are dumb, blind and stupid if we don’t elect this man. We need to put people that are cable to carry us forward in right jobs. We need to watch his back because many of the elite would not like him to reach the next round.
Yang: "Resources will reflect the most disproportionately affected population".
Interviewer: "But what would that look like?"
I don't know? It'll look like allocating resources to the most disproportionately affected population? Such empty questions.
The goal is to choose the best for 2020 and it just may be Andrew Yang. His logic is clear and his intellect is refreshing.
I know it's waaaaay too early to predict who can actually beat Trump, but after learning a lot about Andrew Yang, I'd say he's second or first when it comes to highest potential of beating Trump.
Hes sk refreshing down to earth and full of solutions! Even if he doesn't win im excited to see what issues he can help press into the mainstream conversation with biden bernie beto Warren etc
YexaC it’s pretty clear from the video that he’s not in favor of explicit reparations.
And then he has a policy to follow up with, that strives to solve the issue
That's why I joined the Yang Gang. Never seen a more candid candidate.
I'm a proud Republican and a proud American conservative and Yang still has my vote. We need more people like him in office even if I disagree with some of his policies. We need to look beyond party politics and Yang does that and more.
In other words, you mean the complete opposite of Trump. LOL
The more I see of Andrew Yang the more I like him, he would make a very fine President and is surely by now at least in the top 3 for the nomination.
I think so too!
I'd like to see him in a cabinet position.
This interviewer is so aggressive and annoying omg... great job by Yang though tbh
Thank you. I thought it was just me.
Yang can handle any situation
Eh, if you actually consider how serious black voters take their vote and place their trust in someone who's going to stand for one of history's most oppressed racial groups then you'll understand why his interview tactics were on the offense. Yang did well, it's even a bigger plus to have a difficult interview for a candidate like Yang because he's not a politician, running from left field, and this is perfect for him to be taken seriously.
Yang: (long overdue solutions that will literally help everybody)
Interviewer: BLACK PEOPLE!!!
Being focused on black politics is one thing, but making everyone out as the enemy is another. I also feel some anti asian sentiments in their end. Actually now that I think about it, they are akin to /r/aznidentity
@@youtubeMyspaceGoogleYourYahoo I'm like how the root chooses to break down racial divisions by erecting racial divisions.
Well, maybe their goal isn't erasing racial barriers.
William Cockrell there was no racial division there.... just focusing on black centered questions.
Exactly, the things he is proposing would help black people tremendously!
Honestly, its great seeing Yang address hard hitting questions. Yang showed some finesse, while still directly answering the question.
Yang: “White communities are suffering from opioid deaths and suicides.” Interviewer: “So you’re saying blacks want to take over those communities?” Rolling my eyes.
Well no one wants to actually say that black communities are suffering from murder if each other and abortions.... When that’s the reality. But I think not being flat broke would help that. 2 adults in a house making money plus $2,000 free!? Can’t beat that shit
yeah I agree this interviewer is way too biased, it really seems like he only cares about black interests and he couldn't care less about people of other ethnic groups. Next time this channel should choose a balanced and pragmatic interviewer, because this one is terrible.
When I started seeing more of Andrew Yang's and his plans, policies and priorities I actually switched from being a Bernie support to Andrew Yang's. I think he's a step above what Bernie is for
Old white men can't solve this country's problem on any side of the field. We need younger middle ground progressive like Yang.
Way above Bernie.
Yeah, Bernie is basically just pandering to the young and naïve to sell books. I don't think he even sees himself as president. Old ass.
Bernie is fueled by his misplaced rage for the 1%, they're simply doing what comes natural to them whereas Yang comes up with practical solutions
@@cmac2295 you know there are probably a few who could, but no way do they want to step into the ring and deal with the stupidity of the whole circus. He who can get himself elected to President probably doesn't deserve the job.

Yang responded well to a bad interviewer. Policies aside, it’s refreshing to see someone who keeps their cool and thinks rationally.
Yes, ass interviewer.
I don’t believe the man was bad interviewer. Naturally, you’d expect a Bend from the root who wants to address issues pertaining strictly to the black community. As a black man, I know our communities are tired of being bullshitted by politicians. He has every right to be aggressive in finding out answers.
On that note, Yang delivered, and I’d like to see other candidates test the waters here. I doubt they would be as successful

I do not like his answers on Amazon in total. I do agree with them that they must be more aggressively tax and must pay their fair share. However, he has an attitude like the cat can't be put back in a bag. If there's a political will, anything can be done. Heck, for a while it was illegal to own personal goal in this country. FDR put that in the place. We had gas rationing. I'm not saying I agree with these things but these are things that have happened and show what can be done. Andrew Yang is great and navigated so well
Spooky Boyy Reparations are owed. Estimates show that Black people have been historically robbed of over a trillion dollars of wealth.
Joseph O'Connor so have Latin American countries who’s entire resources of gold were used to colonize America and further conquest. If we talk about repearations, America, Spain, England, France all owe trillions to Latin American countries for the wealth and lives they’ve taken to build the world we know today. Many civilizations deserve reparations. African Americans were just done hard by Modern America.
David Lee easy to say stop caring about skin color when you’re white. Check your privilege.
For the amount of hate they get, at least the NRA actually provides solid benefits for its owners. Can’t remember the last time the NAACP did anything for black people directly.
Can confirm. I live less than 10 minutes from Valley Stream and Elmont and it’s like two separate worlds to southside Queens near where I am. I live kind of in the area between both lol. The only people I see supporting reparations are black people with a chip on their shoulder, or well-meaning white people who don’t personally many black people and are constantly fed the “all blacks are poor because of whitey” spiel.

The interviewer wasn't that aggressive here though
greencase woah man. Your career is over if that comment is ever taken without context.
He didn’t say “TELL US ONE”. He was pretty inquisitive and soft spoken in that moment, bad example.

Did he just ask the Asian man if he experienced racism?? I completely understand the question might be asked for general inquiry when we all know the answer, but...really?
Dudes like him only see the world in black and white. His entire life is devoted to seeing everything through the lens of race alone.
@@williamcleland2369 I am certain you cannot relate but for black people we are ONLY seen as our race not having the luxury of going through life as just a human being. We are often treated as less than every. single. other. race. That's just the reality. Not yours but it is ours. so I do believe the interviewer simply wanted to speak on issues that uniquely affect African Americans and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. Or not. Idc
That said I so appreciate that Andrew Yang attempts to meet everyone at their level, bringing compassion, understanding along with the facts and data to back up his proposals. The fact that he has managed to unite Trump supporters, undecided voters along with democrats and progressives alike really speaks to how powerful and needed his message is. "Not left not right but forward". America needs this man as president and he has my vote all the way. Yanggang2020! Let's go!
Asians experienced American containment camps. Fact.
@@SongofaBeach2012 well I think saying that everyone in society EXCLUSIVELY sees you through the lens of race is a little bold no?
As a white guy can say you're wrong. You are a woman as much as I am a man we aren't fundamentally different.
Please don't ever use this interviewer again.
Why? Cause he’s black!? The interview is actually smooth
bruh did u watch the same vid?
no.
What was wrong with it? It seemed fine
For people saying this interviewer was good. Just switch the word black for white in the interview and change the interviewers skin color to white and you all would be losing your damn minds! This interviewer is a racist douche bag who can't see past the color of his own skin color!
I honestly think Yang will be a great president
@BLACK DEATH it seem like ppl like you are the ones are racist
cindymmm11 , yes. Yang for president
Sadly , the Repukeians wont allowed it : they will do same thing to him like they did to Obama by refusing to pass or install any type of legislation that will help people and try everything that they can to help make him a ONE TERM PRESIDENT !!!!!!!!!!!!
I want Andrew Yang for president so bad that it makes me physically i'll to think he might not be.
I hear you man! But I also understand what Darrell is saying so I try to keep my excitement in check :))
He is an idiot. Most ppl would not care about this clown if he was not lying about giving everyone free money.

I thought that this was one of the best interviews of Andrew Yang. You can tell that he was out of his comfort zone on many thought provoking questions. It's obvious that Yang is a authentic human being and speaks from the heart. Wonderful interview!
This guy's obsessed with race. I hope Yang doesn't end up biting into hyper-regressive identity politics. It'd be a quick way for Yang to lose all the libertarian-right support he's been getting.
I agree. I understand the interviewer is trying to get him to answer more on the black community, but their are other communities too. And a presidential candidate cant just focus his policies on a single community and nobody else. UBI is probably the closest, likely, and only solution for black reparations.
Vic black people are rhe most important base for the democrats you lose them you lose everything
Tyler Surratt its not about other communities its about specific problems that affect the black community specifically.
@@oneloveonebeing I perfectly understand you. I just think the reparation part is going to be extremely difficult to implement and the logistics is going to seem like a nightmare. For example. I am biracial (African American and White) do I qualify for a black reparation?
The Root is a black nationalist website so it makes sense that this interviewer was obsessed with race.
"we are all human beings, we have equal value" - who said this, Jesus? no a modern a politician, Andrew Yang.
Originally his people believed in the One G-d who eventually sent Himself in form of the Son and his family does attend church as Messianic believers/Christians. btw, his people are the ones who came up with the concept of abolition-- it's good that someone is keeping the human race accountable to G-d's principles.
Thank you Anton

I just said that Asians are on cold worse than these white people they really would think they run s*** then
That would be the Yang effect
Same. Andrew's ideas are not only innovative, but also impressive.
This interview was brutal. The Roots need an interviewer that is actually smart.
@JUST Cali
Bro I got here right after watching the Ben Shapiro interview. He actually asked critical questions. This guy did not. Here Andrew Yang was even dumbing down his answers just for him to understand.
DatTap91 fair enough ..
I think this interviewer only wanted him to say a specific thing and got mad when he focused on the big picture! I guess no one is used to a candidate who thinks about the big picture. I still like this interviewer on whole, but this just didn't seem very courteous on the interviewer's part.
@@unknown_mimic I'm glad you subscribe to the old the rising tide lifts all boats Theory. That theory is shown to be wanting because it often shows some boats seem to be way lower than other boats. That's what Obama told us too, and many things are worse in the black community under him. He got better in his second term but executive stuff can be undone easily as we are seeing.
Additionally, how come Hispanics, immigrants, Asians, and white working-class and middle-class can all have programs and answers that are specific for and to them but black people always have to accept some kind of general answer?
Why can't black people have programs specific to them other than say we're going to do prison reform? Prison reform, that's about something that's specific and not applicable to a vast majority of that group of people even if it is disproportionately affecting those people.
@@hillsane9262 What kind of answers are specific to hispanics (let's go ahead and lump them all in together and not acknowledge that Puerto Rican, Mexicans, Hondurans, etc. aren't the same), Asians, and even other races? Andrew Yang played it well but the interview crossed the line many times
9:20
What line? The line where you have to take a stance and not dance around the question like every shitty politician ever? If Yang didn't have a clear position, he should of said that rather than being ashamed to answer it and dodging the questions by talking in circles.
