Don't just wait till he wins the primaries, actually VOTE for him in the primaries! Even if it means changing your party affiliation to Democrat (depending on your state), which honestly doesn't take too long, plus you can change back after the primaries.
Austin Ledbetter He’s actually more of a centrist. He’s neither right nor left. Actually, most Americans are more central than they think they are, but for personal reasons get too caught up with the labels. Personally, he probably chose the democrat party because more of the younger generation identify as democrats. Also, getting the republicans to vote for him this early on, as opposed to Trump, would be way harder. In all honesty though, he could have run for either party.
The sad part is that they screwed him again in the next debate. He again was called on the least, and spoke the least in the September debate. The establishment hates this guy, fears him.
Why aren't you socialists screaming at the establishment, racism against the Asian American candidate!"? The left has no problem calling everybody else a racist for no apparent reason other than they don't like them.
@@aaronlandry3934 in a recent non qualifying poll, Yang got 9 percent. Passing Booker, buttigieg, and O'Rourke. How well this will reflect the national polls? I'm not sure. But one thing I know for certain is that the debate left an impact that will grow even more.
Toyota Toddler I don’t think that polls are worth a crap to begin with. The 2016 election is enough to completely discredit them. However, I know that a Dem. candidate only has to get 2% in the national polls. That’s really not a lot, but Yang’s lacking there. If less than 2% are behind him, I don’t have a lot of faith in him continuing his campaign. Even then, Biden’s gonna get the nomination because he’s got Party seniority and he’s well recognized as a generic B or C list Democrat. Things ain’t looking so great for Yang
He is smart and has personality but UBI is his great idea to boost the economy? Sorry, no. And Jeff at Amazon and other tech gurus are on board with throwing their profits into the "greater good pot?" If anyone believes that I have a unicorn for sale.....$1000. You can use your UBI check.
I hope I'm wrong, but not a chance. Corporations, not presidents, run this country. And no single person can "save this country" in 4-8 years, there's just WAY too much red tape in Washington, and until we get rid of these career politicians and start enforcing term limits, it'll always be that way.
@@miket9396 You are wrong. Andrew isnt the one person to save the country but he puts us in a position to save the country or make big moves. I get the feeling Andrew Yang is the kind of candidate Republicans thought they were getting when they elected Donald Trump. A businessman with ideas that work outside of traditional politics. He's focused on solutions based on the actual data. He's not trying to change the way companies are growing by breaking them up, he just wants them to pay the tax that the people are owed before the technologies they created start to take our jobs and back us into a corner. #YangGang2020
John Lopez No way, Trump never gave one policy solution and just complained about everything. He scapegoated immigrants, and made fun of disabled people. Yang is nothing but optimistic and solutions driven. If people thought a guy who never talked policy was there to fix policy issue they are mad dumb
Skyscrapers & MegaProjects he didn’t make fun of the disabled guy, thats just what he does when he imitates someone being called out in a lie and they don’t know how to act, the guy just happened to be disabled
Kristopher Manzo Yeah, but people will slander Trump with literally anything. “Trump Eats Ice Cream” was an actual news story that CNN tried to use to slander him. It was funny at first, but it’s rather annoying now. We get it, Trump is Hitler, “sexist”, a “bigot”, a “racist”, and every other meaningless word that they throw at him. Me: Can we move on, already? CNN: Russia did it!

Kreengle wouldnt it be a dream that if he had the opportunity to debate Trump and Trump has no dirt to throw at him and all his insults are shallow and weak! Lol
BoltzNBulletz He’d have to get his poll numbers up first. 2%’s not gonna get him to the nomination and Biden’s in the lead by an average of 14%. In all likelihood, he’ll win the nomination. Tough call on what’s going to happen to Yang. Some presidential candidates become lesser politicians and others completely drop off of the face of the Earth.
Yang was easily the best performing Dem on that CNN debate stage last night. He never attacked anyone for clout, he simply stated what fact he wanted to say and that’s it. That’s the temperament we need in office. It’s not left, it’s not right, it’s forward!🇺🇸
Omar Kenawy How true!!! Some people seem to run primarily for power, prestige and/or financial gain. Others sadly seem to do so w/o too much intellectual commitment or conviction, simply so that they can put “Presidential Candidate 2020” on their resumes. Yet others, like Yang and Buttgieg, appear to run because they are actually excited about their well-contemplated ideas to make our country work well for as many people as possible. When candidates resort to superficial mutual attacks, I tend to interpret it as a sign that they don’t really have deep thoughts they are dying to share w/ their fellow Americans!
Yeah I think that while the debates are primarily meant to let us hear what the candidates have to say, it's also an opportunity to see what kind of people they are character-wise. Sometimes people are like oooh this person got a good jab in at that person and that person had a good counter for this person. But I think the candidates who are the most willing to bicker and attack people within their own party are the ones who are most likely to be the same way or even more divisive for the nation if they get to the White House. Meanwhile here's Yang making his points without tearing down his fellow candidates in the process, showing respect for all of them whether or not he agrees with their ideas. That's the kind of personality much more likely to build bridges between groups, someone who will care about all citizens equally. He's got the right mindframe because he's not speaking like he's biased towards promoting the interests of one slice of one party. It genuinely feels like his ideas are thinking towards what's good for the country as a whole.
I was leaning towards Sanders but I been listening to Andrew Yang the past 2 weeks & he's got my vote. He's the President we the American people truly need right now.
I love how Trevor asks him to regress about his frustration with the prior debate, and Yang just goes into what makes him happy about the next debate. Pro skills ya'll! His slogan is "forward", that is where he wants to take us, displayed in every response he gives.
As an Republican, the more I read and listen to him, I genuinely like this guy, really smart guy, who not out there attacking his opponents, but happens to like "MATH" :) . I think Yang is the only democratic candidate who can actually pull lot of young Trump voters. I am voting for Yang

@@aaronlandry3934 There is definitely media bias for corporatist candidates like Biden, but I don't know about actual interfering with polling. There is a tendency in MSM to display the polls that show Biden leading by the largest amount, and that probably does affect those voters who don't have actual policy concerns but just want to vote for the most "electable" candidate. Also Look at the time when CNN displayed a poll with the top six candidates, but choose to exclude Yang, even though he was number 6, instead replacing him with Beto O'Rourke. There is an obvious push to make it seem like corporatist Democrats are our only option.
bennybrewer99 I wasn’t even referring to media bias, I was referring to the DNC actively tampering with voting locations so that Sanders voters would be less likely and able to vote for him last election so that Hillary would have the upper edge. What’s weird is that Bernie Sanders didn’t speak out against it and instead actively supported Hillary anyways (I guess he’s cool with being “cucked” by Hillary, so to speak?). That’s why I said I wonder if they’ll do it again. Media bias is definitely something that I can agree on too, though.
@@aaronlandry3934 Oh yeah I have no doubt the DNC will try to pull some shit again this time. I doubt they'll do the exact same stuff they did in 2016, unless they're really that dumb and think people won't see through it. But there will definitely be an effort to force out non-corporatist candidates like Sanders/Yang/Gabbard. They already did it with Gabbard actually.

Cute Leper Mctig Mctiggy’s right. 2% is abysmal. Trump took the lead early on in the Republican debates, but Yang hasn’t garnered hardly any traction. I had never even heard of the guy, until his fans spammed a Kurzgesagt video with things like “Yang 2020”. Before that, he was just that guy who’s microphone didn’t work in the first debate. I don’t see Yang staying in the race for much longer. If I had to guess, he’s only still running so that more people are tempted to read his ghostwritten book about politics or the future or robots or something that will sit on a shelf for years unread.
@@aaronlandry3934 Interesting opinion, but I'd have to disagree. The fact that his fan base is so widespread across the entirety of TH-cam, social media, and the like, can only mean good. If you hadn't heard of him, then you clearly didn't bother with the debates and shouldn't even care about this comment thread. If anyone's going to drop out soon, it'll be from those ten or so candidates who didn't qualify for the September 12th debate who are still "in the race," or Amy Klobuchar and Julian Castro. Cory Booker and Beto O'Rourke are more likely to drop out before Andrew Yang as they often poll lower.
Cute Leper Yang’s fan base isn’t very widespread. His fans just spammed that one video. I’ve never seen any of his fans on any other video except for videos like this, where it’s almost exclusively his diehard fans. They seem quite niche, really. I don’t consider the candidates that didn’t qualify to be in the race still, but I guess they’re technically in the race. Yang’s polls have consistently remained about 1-2%. They’re not going up much and that’s not a very good sign. Even if Yang were to start going up in the polls, he’s on average 35% behind Biden. Also as a buff to Biden’s probability is that he’s got Party seniority, whereas Yang’s young and inexperienced. This is important for Democrats especially, because the DNC has a history of screwing over candidates that don’t have Party Seniority. Even Bernie Sanders was victim to this in the 2016 primaries. Whatever the case is, Yang’s probably going to make a killing in book sales. After that, he might become a minor politician or maybe he’ll just fall off of the face of the Earth. That tends to happen to a lot of lower ranking presidential candidates. Anyways, vote for him if you truly believe in him. He might end up as a minor politician if he gets enough votes, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t win the nomination. If he does anyways, congrats for calling it anyways.

It's really hard not to like this guy. Very straight forward. Smart. And has a legitimate policy and plan behind how it will work that benefits everyone. Democrats should be supporting this man to the highest degree
Dangelo Royster We can’t. The DNC has a history of screwing over candidates that aren’t their favored candidate. How do they choose their favored candidate? Party seniority, highest rank held, and a few other factors. That’s why their nominations are usually old white men and women that have been with the Party for decades. Hillary had Party favorability in 2016 and the DNC actively screwed Bernie Sanders over, only to have him still support the Party and Hillary for some reason (maybe he prefers authority from afar?). Biden’s definitely got it this time around, because he’s a former Vice President that’s been a Democrat for decades and is recognized by a lot of people. This means that Bernie’s probably going to get screwed again along with the others. Poor Bernie can’t catch a break. This leaves someone like Yang almost no chance, especially seeing as he’s young and inexperienced. Not good trait for a Democratic Presidential nominee.

You need to back up that sort of claim. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean other Reps haven't gained the brain cells to realize how much better Yang would be as President. For anyone who doesn't understand why automation leads to UBI, think of automation as extremely cheap labor. That is essentially what automation is to the economy. Jobs create wealth, but automation creates wealth for much cheaper than jobs do. No salary to pay. No benefits to give. No healthcare to cover. It's just the initial cost of the machine, the power to run it, maintenance and repair. What use are jobs when you have extremely cheap labor at your disposal? The question becomes 'what to do with the wealth that automation creates?' UBI is the answer.
And this is starting now. This in an article from May: www.reuters.com/article/us-amazon-com-automation-exclusive/exclusive-amazon-rolls-out-machines-that-pack-orders-and-replace-jobs-idUSKCN1SJ0X1
The tension between employers and unions disappear. No unions, robots can't unionize, labor as a cost-input is almost 0, robots pay for themselves. It's ironic, THANKS TO CAPITALISM run amok, if full-scale AI robots works as everybody's free slave, then it will regress back to communism, the circle of life is complete.

@@JayHesley Facebook is not a bad way to do it. But a better way may be to convince the owners of the motels/truckstops along your route that what this Yang guy is saying is true, and to get them thinking about what it would mean to their business if the truckers start being eliminated by the truck robots (which don't need to stop to eat and sleep, they can keep driving 24 hours non-stop as long as there is fuel in the tank). If the motel/truckstop owners are convinced, I'm sure they'll do what needs to be done without any help from you - put up Yang billboards, and other such ideas - to get the attention of all truckers that stop at their place. You could be miles away after having planted the idea, and they'll make it viral within the trucker community. You'll just need to do the intial bit - plant the virus in many motels/truckstops, at least until there is a critical mass of truckers that take over from you.

@mak 10 short term, possibly. Long term, it'll settle. If worried, use your UBI to buy gold. It's that simple. UBI is revolutionary and when the US government bailed out wall street for $4 trillion there was little to no inflation.
One of the things I find in starting a business is that I don't come from a well-off family. I don't have the means to do it quickly. The plan has to be tight. The hassle I went through to get investors and loans from the bank. A lot of rejections can be discouraging. Most of the time, people who start a business always have a cushion to fall back on. We don't. That's why this policy really speaks to me.

But Yang plainly said at the end it would be the way Rubin said well just how did Rubin say it? Why not just blow the safety net part, etc and then Yang says over time, just wouldn't do it all at once. If you don't think that is Yang saying he will eliminate the social programs, fine, but I think that is exactly what he is saying his goal is! I'm not on welfare but I know people that are and they will not opt out of housing assistance, food stamps, transportation, and other cash like programs for $1,000 a month. Mr. Bernstein regarding passing UBI while keeping existing social programs, "...and that is a very expensive endeavor involving the RAISING OF MUCH MORE TAX REVENUE and thus NOT something I suspect many people in this room would readily support." And Mr. Bernstein was talking about just UBI not passing with existing programs so that's not even counting getting Medicare passed, too! I'm no Hillary supporter but how about what she said on UBI........ Hillary Clinton seriously considered running her 2016 campaign for president on a platform built with UBI. But she couldn’t figure out a reasonable way to pay for it. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the numbers work,” Clinton wrote in her campaign memoir, “What Happened.” “To provide a meaningful dividend each year to every citizen, you’d have to raise enormous sums of money, and that would either mean a lot of new taxes or cannibalizing other important programs. We decided it was exciting but not realistic....” End of quote and I especially noted what she said about new taxes OR cannibalizing other IMPORTANT programs! I disagree with Yang on not raising the min wage to $15! Over 200 economists have signed a petition for raising the min wage to $15! Does Andrew Yang Want The Most Regressive Tax In The World? th-cam.com/video/pyjK1wIvRVQ/w-d-xo.html www.moneycrashers.com/whats-is-your-opinion-about-a-value-added-tax/ And another problem in the videos I've seen Yang fails to properly answer the question of housing costs inflating. He suggest because “vendors” and “firms” will not collude to raise prices. Landlords and Homeowners are not vendors and firms. GOV. CONTROL OVER JOURNALISTS? On his CNN Town Hall Yang was basically saying he wants the gov. to decide what is misinformation that Journalists puts out. I'm definitely against that!
I gave money to Bernie Sanders, but I also gave a $35 donation to Yang... because I want him to keep qualifying for debates until someone makes a good argument against his proposals, or until he becomes president.
It's easy to argue his proposals just like Sanders. They are soclist and that shit doesn't work. Just give everything away for free but someone somewhere has to pay for all that.
@@chadjustice8560 would you like to see the math behind Andrew proposal? I hear Bernie, I think what he is proposing, while it is fine and dandy, is a bit of a stretch to make it happen. But andrew's proposal is realistic and I can see it happens. Unless you can tell me more in detail about which part Andre's proposal is not working then I assume you are generalizing?
slothypunk I can assure you that his Math skills are shit. Either that, or he’s lying through his teeth. UBI alone would cost $3.924 trillion dollars annually. The total tax revenue of the US is only $3.6 trillion dollars annually and that covers every government expense as is. His VAT idea wouldn’t make crap in terms of money. An example of this is with Amazon (the most prosperous business in the world), where it would generate only $20 billion dollars, which is chump change for the government. With a program like his costing so much, it’s impossible to do Fund it without spiking everyone’s taxes or taking on an obscene amount of debt. The taxes are most likely, because everyone acknowledges that we don’t need more debt, and that’s going to be about doubled taxes for everyone, which will be over the cost of only $1,000 a month.
Chad Justice “someone somewhere has to pay for it” the fundamental question of economics is who gets what. If these large corporations are not adding anything to our society by building AI, and are arguably hurting the well-being of others, then they should have to pay for that destruction. A company that generates 200% more profit is hypothetically generating 3x the well-being for the People - but you and I both know that’s not the case here.
It's so odd that each video of him there are literally no fights going on in the comment section. Just people getting along. No hate or anything that I have saw. I love it! It gives me hope and I will definitely be placing my very first vote for him.
I don't want to sound confrontational, but I am retired. Let me correct you. Andrew Yang is the ONLY opinion worth listening to. I have had 4 decades of choices for president and none of them got my vote. Not left, not right, FORWARD
Do the math. UBI alone would require more than our entire tax revenue. Assuming that he keeps America’s other programs too, UBI’s addition would total up to 210% of our current tax rate. VAT would probably cover about 10% of the cost, so just 200% would fall on tax payers. Doubled taxes doesn’t sound very appealing to me
She Zhang I assumed 10%, which would be about 392 billion dollars (VAT included). That’s a lot of money as well, so I’m be extremely generous with assuming that it’d cover 10%. That’d still leave about $7 trillion dollars that would need to be payed off. That means that the rest would fall on everyone, doubling everyone’s taxes, assuming that the federal government did UBI flawlessly and didn’t go over budget (which they always do). That’s not happening.
@@aaronlandry3934 A lot of current welfare programs will be replaced with UBI too. Not sure if it will fill the hole completely but it will save a great deal of money which can be used on UBI, right?

unfortunately, most people have never tried to understand what UBI means... And Andrew Yang has yet to explain the positive side of automation. It means *a growing percentage of production and gdp can be generated without human drudgery !!!* The only problem is how are people gonna buy the shit we produce if our income is 100% coupled to jobs that are part of the production ?!? UBI is a logical step to be taken in our economic evolution. It takes the edge off our busy work schedules and allows us to spend our time more wisely on things that matter. Be it family, our next big idea on how to contribute to society in terms of either a new business venture or sth not currently measured by gdp...
btw... I hope that Yang does the doomsday talk only because fearmongering works great in american politics... However, in terms of the actual philosophy and science behind UBI this strategy is horrible as fuck...

Why would you admit that you're a staunch supporter of the man who lied to you about the reasons Americans are losing their jobs, began putting the scapegoats in cages, while diverting trillions in tax breaks to the very people who are the actual ones taking the job opportunities away, and then began destroying manufacturing jobs with ridiculous tariffs? You don't seem very smart.
@@zubileegluckgluck Well Trump did try to bring the jobs back by providing billions in tax breaks only to have these companies use those tax breaks to build the next generation of plants that are 80-90% automated with only a handful of the jobs most of whom are white color with highly technical skills to maintain the robots within these plants. We have to be realistic about the future. America produce more goods than we did back in the early 80s with less than 15% of the work force and that number is slowly shrinking. He fucked up the coal miners too by promising to bring coal jobs back but doesnt talk about the automated coal mine that only requires a handful of guys instead of hundreds. 381Beatz After you paid doubled taxes first. UBI would cost 3.924 trillion dollars alone, which is 110% of our entire tax revenue. That’s an astronomical amount of money and you can’t get that much without increasing everyone’s taxes. Would you really be willing to pay double taxes (210% really) for only $1,000 a month? Sounds like a poor trade off that way, but I didn’t even touch on the tax increase putting many small businesses out of business along with millions of jobs that they create. No matter how you slice it, it’s just not a good idea
Aaron Landry learn more about yang before commenting. He would pay for most of it with value added tax on tech companies like amazon and google (which currently pay little to no taxes)- which doesn’t directly affect consumers. Snatch those yang bucks my guy
@@aaronlandry3934 Not really how it works, People benefit from the slices and with the $1,000 people in rural areas will finally be able to start up their business or invest in other things they financially could not which would (estimated) bring $800 billion straight back into the economy (even if people don't use money for business, even spending that on food or clothes would boost the economy tremendously)
Aaron Landry even if you’re right, wouldn’t you think andrew yang would recognize this? If not yang, then why did milton friedman state that ubi would be goof for the american economy?
Self Discipline Actually, UBI’s addition would cost 210% of our current tax rates. That means that instead of spending $10,489 (average amount for Americans annually), the average would bump up to costing $22,067, so that everyone could get $1,000 back. I’d rather not pay 210% of my current taxes than receive $1,000 for existing.
pandia Do the math and think about the numbers for a second or two. You’ll quickly realize that Yang is full of shit. Even with his VAT, taxing tech companies, and completely cutting out the cost of every other welfare program (I know he said it’d be optional between UBI or the other, but by cutting out welfare completely, it gets UBI closer to affordable), that would only total up to about 40% of our current tax revenue. Plus 100% being our current taxes, that only totals up to 140% out of the 210% that UBI would need. That means that at least an additional 70% would have to come out of everyone else’s taxes. Does that sound worth it for a measly $1,000 a month? I certainly don’t want to pay 210%-170% of my current taxes for $1,000 a month
@Self Discipline yeah, reminds of Ross Perot saying (about Bill Clinton) that he's trying to buy your vote with what used to be your money. Nevertheless I'm interested in Yang
@@aaronlandry3934 The amount that you would need to spend with a 10% VAT on Technology companies to eclipse the $1,000 / month is extremely high; you would basically be needing to buy over $10,000 worth of products every month. When Yang has been pressed about how much the VAT would take away from normal families under normal consumption rates, it makes the UBI "drop" to only $920 / month. That's still a great benefit. Additionally, I am unaware of any other taxes that Yang is seeking to implement, so the idea of rising from 30% or so income taxes to a 60% tax rate is not a defensible claim based on any statement by Yang.
Yes please! :) I'll admit, I'm very anti-Trump and I feel like his election separated the country into 2. Extreme democrats and extreme republicans. I'm normally somewhere in the middle but I chose the democrat side. I would rather democrats and republicans find a candidate they both like, which I believe is Andrew Yang. I don't want the country to be divided, I want everyone to respectfully agree to disagree but coexist peacefully. I don't see this happening with another democratic candidate or trump.
Marina Yang’s entirely too far left for even moderate Democrats to get behind. Republicans would immediately reject him. If you’re somewhere in between the two main parties and hate the division that they cause, vote Third Party. I’m personally a Libertarian, but as you like Yang, you’ll probably like the Green Party more. They’re much closer to Yang than Libertarians are.
Aaron Landry I think yang could be a libertarian . If you look at his 1000 a month plan is really a return of our taxes we pay. So essentially we would be taxed less or not taxed at all.
Mike S Libertarians advocate for as little government intervention as possible without causing Anarchy. Everyone becoming completely dependent on the government for a socialized pay check is the complete opposite of the goal of Libertarianism. A free market economy is a key point of Libertarianism. An economy where the government tells the business owner “No, you’re not allowed to use new technologies to better your business and you have to pay even higher taxes than before because.” is not free. Again, we advocate for as little intervention as possible. A Libertarian would welcome AI and automation as a new advancement in technology that will remove a lot of unnecessary costs and unnecessary labor on the workers parts. Will some jobs become obsolete? Yes, but that’s part of any passage of time. Also with time comes new jobs created through advancements in technology. For example, video store rentals became obsolete because of streaming, but now countless jobs have been created by the streaming industries that wouldn’t have existed before. That’s just one of many examples, and you can probably think of a sizable number of them too. “Whatever comes, let it come, what stays let stay, what goes let go.” - Papaji
@@aaronlandry3934 As odd as it might sound, UBI is considered by some libertarians to be a good idea. The concept is that government doesn't get any of the money, it goes to all the people. Now, it's extreme in that the government is taking money away to give it to everyone so it really is the government having more power. We pay taxes already. It's close to getting a huge tax break though. It's debatable but it is possibly within the realm of libertarian.
It is up to us to get him the nomination. The DNC changed their rules and will now accept a majority a vote as our candidate. The primaries are now very important. Please vote! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries#Primary_and_caucus_calendar

Ricci Hershey: Trump will be re-elected this CLOWN has gone as far as he EVER will!!! the democrats are fighting a loosing battle like Hillary did last time!!! FUCK THE DEMOCRAT PARTY!!!! what problems have he solved that you know of?? ASSHOLE!!!!
Hay I don’t know about bots, but he’s right. Presidents very rarely ever lose the re-elections, so Trump’s already in favor here. The Democratic Debates have been terrible this time around, the Democratic Party has continually embarrassed itself in recent years with stupid things like the Russia conspiracy theory, blaming Hillary’s loss on everything, and the Kavanaugh controversy (which was nothing more than slander of a perfectly innocent judge), and Trump won by a landslide last time. Things don’t look very good for the Democratic Party. As for Yang, he’s lacking in the polls and floats around the 0-2% mark. It’d be lucky if he gets the 2% for one more debate, but that’ll be it for him if even. I’m a registered third party member, so I’m neither Republican nor Democrat and can’t vote in the primaries anyways. This is just the currents state of the Party. I’m not saying that they can’t turn things around next election, but it’s not happening this time
+[mahler9] That's because, more than any other Candidate, Yang knows to play his audience. He never says anything he doesn't really believe, but he is able to frame his positions to fit pretty much any audience while still remaining within the confines of his beliefs. And I do believe that is how you win elections.
@@zlistcelebrityYT the debates offer very little time to respond and Yang needs to have a few minutes to explain his policy, the reason for it and why it benefits Americans but the debates are all about sound bytes not actual solutions. That's why where Yang shined the hardest he ever had was the post debate CNN interview. He had the anchors listening to his vision of the near term future like schoolchildren and he had them super engaged.
It sounds scifi corny, robots suuuure, but I went to Home Depot, that's pretty low tech as far as companies go. Bought $100 bucks worth of lawn care supplies, never spoke to a single person. Checked myself out at a kiosk. 6 kiosks so minus 6 jobs X every location in the US? That's a lot of jobs. And that's just 1 chain. Targets, Walmarts...
Even my mcdonalds down the road has self service kiosks for ordering too! Retail is the most common job in our country and amazon/online stores are taking over. That's a whole lot of jobs gone and it's only gonna get worse.
This is also why you can't do a $15 minimum wage guarantee. The average cashier is a 39 year old woman making between $9 and $10 an hour. You go minimum $15/hr. and nearly every single cashier will be self serving kiosks. My local grocery store has one human cashier overseeing 8 of the self service kiosks....and truth be told, as people get more comfortable using the self service kiosks, I can see that cashier easily overseeing 20 self service kiosks.
@@Brandon-sr2bl Totally agree. This is why if you wanted to give people a "raise" you'd have to put the burden on the gov't not the employer. UBI sounds nuts to me but at the same time that's the only way you could effectively raise minimum wage without actually raising it.
@@tylermartin212 So Trump says gun violence is all mental health. If he really believes that, then where is his action on mental health? And what is Trump's plan for automation and AI taking jobs? Because without catching up 20 years or so with technology and science, our current system literally cannot sustain us with automation and AI. The only thing I see happening is that (just like with so many things) we will just be reactionary and panic by just banning automation (aka halting human progress).

Having the least speaking time again but spoke the most. That says something!
Yoda
I was leaning towards Sanders but I been listening to Andrew Yang the past 2 weeks & he's got my vote. He's the President we the American people truly need right now.
But, remember Bernie is going to stand with you no matter what if you leg behind. I'm not sure about Yang.
I love how Trevor asks him to regress about his frustration with the prior debate, and Yang just goes into what makes him happy about the next debate. Pro skills ya'll! His slogan is "forward", that is where he wants to take us, displayed in every response he gives.
Glad Trevor got to speak with him. Definitely one of the better candidates
Not better than Trump.

Same here and I also agree. I never bothered to vote in all my years because every option seemed horrible. I like this mans ideas.
I’m a total red but if this guy gets the dem nomination then I’m totally voting for him
Vote for him in the primaries, the biggest obstacle is the corrupt DNC and Democratic party primary system.
bennybrewer99 I wonder if they’ll actively screw Bernie Sanders over again this time or if Biden is just that far ahead of him without them tampering?

@@mctigmctiggy1475 Haha it is ironic because *you're* telling *him* to "think harder" in your comment that had nothing to do with what he said. Sure, 2% isn't incredible, but it has no relation to the comment the dude made. Furthermore, Donald Trump was around the same back in 2015. Please do your own research before criticizing others. It makes you look almost as much of a clown as Donald Trump.
@@mctigmctiggy1475 He may very well be, but you can't expect to be taken seriously when you say he has "absolutely no chance," when he clearly does. Your response to my comment was not intelligent in the slightest, and the fact that it appears to me that you think you've "won" the argument, or something, is just plain sad.

@Dangelo Royster We take it one step at a time. Make sure he is the real thing. We don;t need another misstep here.

It's so logical, it just might work!
And this is starting now. This in an article from May:
www.reuters.com/article/us-amazon-com-automation-exclusive/exclusive-amazon-rolls-out-machines-that-pack-orders-and-replace-jobs-idUSKCN1SJ0X1
The tension between employers and unions disappear. No unions, robots can't unionize, labor as a cost-input is almost 0, robots pay for themselves. Dave Rubin Accidentally EXPOSES Yang's UBI As Libertarian Trojan Horse
th-cam.com/video/Is2VWliq7Jg/w-d-xo.html
Rubin said to Yang,"...Why not just blow apart the safety net as is take because we know it's just a boondoggle of middle management nonsense..." Rubin is absolutely saying why not eliminate it! Yang's reply "... That's the beauty of this the Freedom Dividend proposal as you have the six hundred billion or so and then you're saying hey guess what like now it's a new right of citizenship EVERYONE GETS IT AND THEN WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IS YOU'RE GOING TO DRAMATICALLY REDUCE THE ENROLLMENT IN THESE PROGRAMS VERY VERY QUICKLY BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE LIKE I PREFER THE CASH AND THEN THIS NEW INCOMING POPULATION WOULD JUST OPT FOR THE DIVIDEND AND THEN NEVER END UP ON THESE WELFARE PROGRAMS SO YOU WOULD END UP SHRINKING THE ENROLLMENTS OVER TIME AND THE WAY YOU DESCRIBE YOU JUST WOULDN'T DO IT ALL AT ONCE..."End of quotes Now you can interpret that anyway you want!
Some probably will but it's pure speculation for Yang to say how many will opt out/opt in that he says will help fund the costs of UBI.
I do not believe the House and Senate will pass BOTH UBI and Medicare for all while keeping all of the existing social programs! I don't even believe they would pass just UBI without eliminating existing social programs! Eliminating existing social programs would hurt the poor more than UBI would help them!
Around 17:00 min into the video Richard Wolff Interview On TYT on UBI
th-cam.com/video/KwZOF9ZsNWQ/w-d-xo.html
Does Richard Wolff think UBI is a solution?, "NO"
"...Let me explain in a couple of ways first if you're going to give income without work to a large number of people who are not structurally part of the economy you're not going to over come the split between those who do the work and those who live off the LABOR OF OTHERS and that's a very dangerous relationship which the whole history of the human race seems to me to have taught us..." End of quote
“When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.”
― Benjamin Franklin
What do you think Universal means (UBI) according to Jared Bernstein; "Take resources from people that need it and give it to people that don't need it." "The idea that automation has been killing jobs has been around forever." "Is likely to hurt more than it helps" "UBI squanders resources on people that don't need it...a dollar you give to people that don't need it is a dollar that people that need it don't get.""I don't see writing checks for everybody as a part of the American tradition. The American tradition is if you are able bodied you should work..."
"The idea that automation is killing jobs has been around forever and the debate is the same.""Automation can be complimented with humans not replace humans."If in fact machines robots AI automation were replacing workers the rate of output per hour or productivity would be accelerating it would and would be accelerating quickly. It's the OPPOSITE it's decelerate it's growing more slowly so clearly technology has not found its way into the workforce in reality such that it's replacing workers at any sort of an accelerated rate."

And another problem in the videos I've seen Yang fails to properly answer the question of housing costs inflating.

Do the math. UBI alone would require more than our entire tax revenue. Assuming that he keeps America’s other programs too, UBI’s addition would total up to 210% of our current tax rate. VAT would probably cover about 10% of the cost, so just 200% would fall on tax payers. Doubled taxes doesn’t sound very appealing to me
@@aaronlandry3934 He did mention taxing Google, Amazon, etc. How much tax would finally fall on the taxpayers is not yet clear I would say.

@Cosmic Studios Who doesn't? You'd just end up spending it on more stuff to boost the economy
MATH - Make America Think Harder!!! Yes!!! Go Andrew Yang!!!
Chani Chantilly he’s clearly American, how else would he be running for president? YOU’RE NOT THINKING HARD ENOUGH.

Yes please! :)
I'll admit, I'm very anti-Trump and I feel like his election separated the country into 2.

Not to mention Amazon itself is heavily automated at their warehouses, and is going to kill all local retail eventually.
That's exactly what he is getting at. I think he hits the nail on the head for how to get our wealth redistribution strait.
This is our next president. Thank you for giving him a boost, Trevor!
@@mctigmctiggy1475 Its very very early, he's got the tech crowd behind him, Facebook, Elon Musk, big data are very hard to beat
Matt Sharp Trump Nation
@@tylermartin212 So Trump says gun violence is all mental health. If he really believes that, then where is his action on mental health? And what is Trump's plan for automation and AI taking jobs? Because without catching up 20 years or so with technology and science, our current system literally cannot sustain us with automation and AI. The only thing I see happening is that (just like with so many things) we will just be reactionary and panic by just banning automation (aka halting human progress).
Andrew Yang talks common sense - What a very generous idea
Thank you Trevor for finally interviewing one of the coolest candidates in the election. Hopefully our next President of the USA! President Andrew Yang!
the most up on what is coming to the future as the other candidates are still living in the past
I am from Germany and this guy sees the Future like I do. Innovation is a great oppurtunity for humanity if we lead it in the right direction.
The Economy should work for the people and not the opposite.
get a decent candidate first...you dont even know whats good for germany
@@jiorts I dont get it, can you write a little bit more specific?:)
In Germany the political System is diffrent, we dont have the rule, the winner takes it all. We are voting for Parties and their ideas and in the End diffrent parties has to merge together to lead Germany. Same in all european states.
I have similar ideas to yang, but from a european perspektive the way "how to" is way diffrent.
For example the ubi, We speak more about restructre our unemployment insurance. If you loose your job you get the first 18Month 80% from your preearned salery and option for Education and then it depends on your wealth but if you have nothing you get money for living, education, services and access to diffrent programms.
Thats just one goverment insurance, we have 5 of them. Health-, care-, unemployment-, accident-, pension insurance.
The main Questions that every Country has to solve is the eccological(20th centuray), social(19th centuray) and society Question(? Centuray).
-We only have one Earth.
-The diffrence between Poor and rich will raise up enourmsly.
-How we want to life?

@@Skylla54 i mean your next cancelor will be krampknarrenbauer (intentional) i mean ist this goin to be so much better than with merkel?
@@jiorts could be. At the Moment the green partie has the same votes like Merkels partie. They could lead as well.
The German Population doesnt like krampkarrenbauer so much, maybe the Merkel partie will switch the canidate in the beginning of the electionphase.
But to get a "tech head" in the leading role is really unlikely.😖
I always wanted to know a Germans thoughts on hitler’s economic success before all of the claims of the camps and everything. They say Germany got out of the Great Depression while all the other countries were still struggling. I know that it’s pretty taboo to talk about Hitler in Germany though because of the laws and everything
The debate last night was a very different story. Way to go, Yang!
Yes it was! He did a great job!
@Bill Turner that is what the democrats said about Trump but look he is the president!
Yang is great in interviews, but wow does he suck in debates. He's very much a 1-issue candidate. The only other thing he's commented on is that we should pull out of the middle east, and even then it was pretty terse and vague.
@Bill Turner Found the inbred trumptard that knows Yang gang is coming
@Bill Turner Trump is in office due to russia hacking and 47% of Americans that could had voted didn't vote.Microsoft busted Russia in 2018 trying to hack the midterms. Then with a legit election the Democrats took back the house by a landslide.Come 2020 Trump is out and going to prison once hes taxes are shown.
I'm not big into politics, but Yang seems like a pretty chill dude.
I'm 16 and i want yang to be president you i can vote for him again in 4 years lol
Never donated to a candidate before. Yang got my hard earned cash!
You made a wise decision
Amazon literally took my job last year!
What job was that out of curiosity?
@@xixingpooh i have a class A. We were contacted to multiple companies and amazon was the largest contract. We moved trailers inside the yard, they had us train the employees from the warehouse to do our job and instead of renewing the contract they pulled out which made our company layoff alot of workers. But ive witnessed the takeover first hand and seen more than you know cause i would talk to employees and they paid them $6 less for the same work that i had to train them to do. Luckily its not to hard to find class A jobs until automation conquers that in the near future, then im pretty screwed
@@tellitlikeitis9498 Please continue to share your story for those who don't understand.
Forgot to mention they were in the process of only shipping amazon products in Amazon trucks and trailers no more outside companies will deliver for them. I can only imagine how much work they will take away. And if you want to work for Amazon you will be disappointed with the wages. We need some journalists to document this Amazon takeover
@@tellitlikeitis9498 is this like the franchise business that amazon presented. I saw they now let people have their "own business" shipping their products in Mercedez vans. Where you doing that or you basically used to do that for them under as a third party i guess you could say.
I was starting to wonder if the mainstream didn't regard him...good to see someone allowing him to talk without cutting him off incessantly
