    Man I'm glad you actually wear your shoes. I'm not a sneakerhead per se, but I do like the aesthetics of certain sneakers especially nikes. I wore them for every sport I played, they just look fly. But for a lot of people there's just too much reverence for the shoes, they become speculative financial instruments really

    One of the best take aways from this video is the importance of properly un-tieing & taking off your shoes. Which is best practice among any shoes to persevere the life of it. But I'm a little lost on why you shouldn't swap out old laces for new ones... it just appears to be cotton string

  • @gskuani7769
    @gskuani7769 ปีที่แล้ว

    2:20 no, most people don't do this lol. That's not a requirement and doesn't help the longevity of the shoe out in any way. It's literally just you either liking the feeling of something hugging your ankle and being more restricted or not.

    Great video! I really enjoyed the topic! I would like to see a video on your thoughts of retro 1s. As far as do you think they will be wearable in 30 years like OG 85s. Basically durability thoughts. Obviously we don't know yet but it's something i have always wondered. I have around 40 pairs of retro 1s and that is ALL i wear, EVERY day. Seeing your videos makes me wonder about how my pairs will hold up over the next 30 years. Love the channel! Keep the videos coming! I appreciate cha!

    • @kennyxbusic
      @kennyxbusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably won't hold up quite as well as 85's, due to some of the cheaper/synthetic leathers they'll use nowadays, but they'll still hold up for a very long time. No doubt they'll hold up better than 90% of Nikes releasing today.

    • @unixpert321
      @unixpert321 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mids won't highs will
      All highs releasing now don't use synthetic leather, they use real cowhides although finished with a aniline finish. Even 85s used synthetic leather in the swooshes and collars that's why they crack and flake. Modern AJ1s won't however retros use a thinner leather that is softer and not as stiff as 85s. So take that as you will

      people are dumb. that actually makes them crumble and break quicker because they never get to breathe and are trapped in the bag. peoples reasoning for that usually is because they think it will help save the yellowing happen to the midsole or white areas. but in reality it doesnt work. ive tested the method out on various shoes over the last 25 years.

      @@E_membreno yea and those people that believe that are idiots because it doesnt protect it. ive tested the method out over the last 25 years on various shoes. ive had multiple pairs oxidize in bags. and multiple pairs oxidize with no bags. its a myth. the only advantage putting a shoe in a ziplock bag is to not let it collect dust lol ... other than that all its doing is making the shoe weaker to crack crumble and break from having no air to breathe.

    • @tyreesneed
      @tyreesneed 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@strawhelyperfectx to be completely honest with you ... theres nothing you can do. the shoes are either going to oxidize or theyre not. Ive taken 4 pairs of the same shoe before and put 2 in ziplocks and left 2 without. 1 set from each oxidized. 1 set in the bag was fine for 15 years while the other set in the bag oxidized. 1 set with no bag just in the box oxidized and 1 pair with no bag just box stayed white and perfect. which literally proved nothing works. they'll either oxidize or they wont. ive had shoes that ive kept deadstock since 1992 that look like they came out last week literally perfectly white pristine. meanwhile shoes I bought 3 years ago the entire midsoles have yellowed. makes no sense. but ill say the best thing that you can do to atleast hope and try is to take white paper towel and put it in the shoe box and put the shoes on top of that.
