When it comes to rewarding good behavior, the biggest memory that I have was when I was a CIT and we were serving day camp lunch so the counselors could relax. And one girl goes, "I've had five cups of water!" and as anyone who works at a summer camp knows, we love hydration. So I tell her that she did a good job and gave her a high five, and I look over and the other kids are trying to drink more water. So a quick high five of someone who did something good got all of the others to do the same. It was a great learning experience.
Thank you for explaining how to be a counsellor. I feel confident going to camp as a counsellor now 🙂

The first year I was at camp I went with ,y sis and my friend. my sis and I were fighting who sat next to our friend and our cabin leader said"YOU BOTH DONT UAVE SNACK SHACK TONIGHT." But I still came back.

Thank you so much for this video Heaven! I just got a job at “Camp Hand” at a Camp close to where I live. This job is for seniors that aren’t old enough to be a counselor, but still want to work for the summer. Anyway, I was wondering when you play music for the kids, do you use your phone? I know some camps don’t want the kids to see the counselors with their phone so I was curious on what you do. Thanks for all your help!
I’m given chord sheets of the music for the week. Sometimes I write out the words & put the chords on top. I don’t use my phone during music. 😋
I do search up chords & songs on my phone during the weekends sometimes! 👍🏼
I just happened to come across this comment again and I realized that I misread your question! When I wake the kids up or get them ready for bed, I do use my phone & a little speaker to play music. I only use it for those times & as an alarm. I only spend time on it during some breaks. I’m very careful with how I use it & where I keep it.

Do you have to pay to go to that camp cause my friend went this year and she want me to go next year and could all kids around Saskatchewan can come to pine ridge bible camp. For the camp I used to go I went to beacon bible camp but am too old for that camp now and am 13
