    For those wondering, this is an F#5. The same note that tops Axl Roses vocal range. Although this sounds a lot more effortless than when Axl does it, which leads me to believe he can go even higher and maybe even break the 6th octave without falsetto.. which is amazing if it's true

    Well, rock singers like Gillian, Plant and Hughes have belted out that same note live in mixed voice quite a bit before him, he's not the first to do it, that's not the most impressive thing about Myles. The most impressive thing about him is he's the whole package. He always delivers. He's an amazing composer and writer, amazing musician, amazing singer, amazing human being. Let's not reduce all of it to just one high note. It's the equivalent of judging him on a party trick. He's so much more.

      Absolutely agreed. This is the man that took some time out of his busy touring schedule in January 2011 to send me a DM on Twitter with his personal condolences after I lost my dad - I hadn't even tweeted at him directly, but to the band's account saying how their music was keeping me going through the most tragic time of my life. I wouldn't have ever expected a response and would have been fine if he "big leagued" me, because I get it. Not a lot of musicians would be willing to give up a free moment out of their busy schedule in that way - I can imagine the upkeep of being a celebrity is stressful. Myles didn't do that, he sent me a message. It's the gesture alone that measures the man, and I already knew he was an awesome dude. But the fact he took a moment to realise the impact he had and send his love cemented his legacy for me. Not his music, but his appreciation for a fan he had never met. The music is secondary in that regard.

    reminds me of Grace by Jeff Buckley, at the end of the chorus "wait in the fire" note

    Reminded me of Glenn hughes high notes. Amazing.

    This must be an older recording though. I haven't heard him hit a note that high in a while though. But he's definitely one of the greatest singers of all time

      This was only 5 years ago. I saw him last year and the power in his voice is still outstanding. I have no doubt he can still hit that note.

      @jamestiller491 in the last couple of albums he's been involved in it seems his range has decreased. I know that is no indicator of his actual range but it did make me worry he's not capable of singing like he used to

      @tajbirsingh5205 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thecarsonigen not at all the case. He said he doesn't like singing high all the time anymore. He's worked on his lower register quite a bit. It's a good change.

    • @thecarsonigen
      @thecarsonigen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tajbirsingh5205 well thats good to know but that being said, even the lows arent as low lately. It felt like his last 2 albums between both Alterbridge and Slash felt very generic sounding. No lows and no highs, just middle ranged as possible

    I mean…this whole section of the song is VERY Jeff Buckley…specifically the outro to his song, “Grace” (4:48 mark). If that song didn’t disturb, I don’t think this song would exist. Having said that…dude NAILS it
