- A composition in the style of a Schubert Ländler. My self-assigned task here: compose a short piece that is possible to learn and comfortable for piano (not something crazy unplayable like usual XD), stay short and don't overcomplicate things. Well, I couldn't resist to add the repeated-notes-challenge, but after all this should be a grade 2-3, diatonic main function chords only, no weird concepts, just plain and simple. Plus I did what I could find on Ländlers (don't know if these things are always a rule, but that's what I found): 3/4 upbeat but not too fast, AB form, 8 bars each, with repetitions, A's soprano ends on 3rd, B starts on dominant. And more eighths notes than a waltz. Don't know more about it, but I like the result. Plus I am very happy because this didn't take very long, maybe 2 hours from scratch?
