This channel is the naked truth showing me struggle to play the piano (and sometimes try to sing).
I'll track new piece progress - and failure - and maybe sometimes after lots of practicing also some recordings that went quite well.
I started to learn piano in July 2019 self taught with not so much discipline, and found my teacher December 2021, which also marks the starting point of almost daily and focussed practise.

This piece is sooo cute and fun!
I ignored some (most 😂) of the dynamic markings because the piece just takes over my body haha, but that's fine as it is "only" for the 40 pieces challenge. Maybe I will play this more often in the future and take better care of them.
It's a grade 2 Abrsm.

What a struggle! I just couldn't get the "essence" of it. There are not so many professional renditions out there, and they had so much rubato, each one at different spots, that I got completely confused. I didn't feel a melody, just slurred intervals. Thank you. To me, playing memorized is often easier than to read. My reading skills are really a weak spot. Whereas memorization quite often comes naturally during practice.

I found it on musescore. There are several versions, I checked with the recording which one was closest.

Ajajajjjj, so much love. Which amazes me, because I was struggling so much with classical era music. This is the first time I feel I broke the ice and can find that elegant lightness it needs.

Auch deine Erklärung tut gut. Ich habe vor 3 Monaten Berkowitsch Paganini abgeschlossen. Es war für mich nicht schön. Manche Variationen konnte ich super spielen, bei der 2ten kam ich nicht auf die 120 bpm. So habe ich es weggelegt und freue mich, dass es leichter sein wird es später wieder aufzunehmen. @@Tautropfenoase ger, enough deswegen schreib ich so was immer dazu. Ich bin so dankbar dass ich selbst über mehrere Videos gestolpert bin, wo sow as Thema war: behalten, oder neues lernen. Jetzt so bestätigt zu sehen dass die Recht hatten, und ich die richtige Entscheidung getroffen habe ist echt motivierend!

Thank you 🥰 This one is actually without wrong notes. Just one note not voiced loud enough, but I am ok with this, I know I played it haha) This piece has a diatonic chord based structure, so once you know that, it's quite easy to memorize.

Thank you, Jane 🥰 Here I have all notes right, just one high G isn't voiced properly. But I am very happy. I just find it so difficult to be on that level consistently. It's one of 20 attempts, other pieces have an even worse rate, although they are well practiced. But I guess that's normal for intermediate players and will get better in a few years when I am more advanced.
I thought you played your piece quite well. My advice is to feel proud and happy with what you have accomplished as a piano player and not worry about a "glitsdh" from time to time. Most of us are not and never will be professionals and we play for the pure love of playing. You played a piece that is quite advanced and I think you played it well. Will be excited to see future submissions in recitals or just for review. Best to you.

Oh danke danke danke. Dann hat sich das ja gelohnt dran zu bleiben. Barock lässt mir graue Haare wachsen, tu mich selbst mit einfachsten Stücken da so schwer! An dem bin ich sehr 3 oder 3 Wochen dran, dabei sollte das eigentlich langsam mit 1-2 getan sein auf dem Level...

Haha, es tut nur so süß, da steckt der Teufel drin 😆 Auf Aufnahmen wird das gefühlt 3x so schnell gespielt. Ich wäre mit nem Tucken schneller schon zufrieden. Die ersten beiden Teile hab ich letzten Monaten gemacht, die sind etwas leichter und ich kann sie auf meinem Zieltempo. Ragtime macht einfach soooo Spaß!
Ohh ja, ich habe mir gerade das original angehört. Das ist wirklich schneller gespielt. Aber deine Version in langsamer hat mir direkt gefallen. Also egal wie das original ist.
@@sabrinagad1742 ich finde von es von vielen auch zu schnell. Ich möchte auf 68bpm, da hab ich die ersten beiden Parts schon, und das hat genug Drive, um frech und spassig zu klingen, ist aber noch langsam genug, dass man sich orientieren kann. Mal schauen wie viele Monate es noch dauert bis ich da sicherer werde 😁

I really like this! I enjoy working on thirds though I really need to focus on them and mentally say something like "pineapple" (-: Great job as always!
Ah, you mean triplets. I do the "pineapple" myself as well 😅. Here are no pineapples, but two notes with the interval of a third played together, consecutively up and down parts of a scale, which I found quite tricky to play legato at first 😊
