we bought this a few months ago pre facelift great car and pretty nippy too ,not expensive on insurance either, wife went through breast cancer last year and decided she deserved a new car ,cant fault it ,great looking car ,seats very comfortable city pack is worth having , great review again
I have seen so many people review this car and moan its not fast enough or does not handle like a hot hatch and this is the first one I have seen that is actually reviewing the car for what its aimed at. You seem to have realised that its not a sports car but a nippy car for round town that is fun to drive when on the open road. Nice review and nice to see you seem to have grasped the market it is aimed at.
The standard Yaris is plenty quick and handles brilliantly. This version undermines the target market and purpose. This car is about safe easy driving and getting 80mpg. It is loaded with safety kit. It does not need fake badges and sports ride
II think you are pretty much spot on with your report. I have one and would agree with what you have said, although it can be a little too stiff and “crashy” at times for our roads in this country. Having previously owned a GR Yaris, it could easily be considered as a warm version of the GR Yaris and for a lot of people, a more sensible choice. The mpg of the car is quite exceptional, usually 60mpg plus most of the time, even with some brisk driving! It is equally at home on the motorway or city driving. It certainly surprised me.
This GR Sport Yaris reminds me a little of the Yaris T Sport (1.5 vvti) that was on sale during the early and mid 2000’s. It looks a great little car - all the looks, good performance and lots of rely.

These cars are fantastic. Best small car on the road. I owned a Dynamic version of the pre face-lift version, that was a nice little driver and looked the part. Only had 115bhp but was nippy and very economical. I'd like to see a 3 door version of this, but say having a 150 - 170 bhp none turbo version of the 1600, 3 cylinder. It's a very nice car, I've recently looked at a Suzuki Swift Sport, and for the price I feel it is a better option, after all they're basically a shopping or short commuting car. 👍
I've toyed with the idea of getting one of these for a year or 2 now, but ceased looking when Toyota removed the hire purchase option as I like to own my vehicles outright
I really find these prices car companies are asking are shocking I see many people talk about £25000 for a car I know many people could never afford with the cost of living .I'm lucky for the cars I have but I feel sorry for the average working person too have a home car and a life at the prices car company's want
They could have put a small spacer in for the screen to angle it correctly for the UK market. It would have cost pennies. I'm sure some enterprising person could 3d print them and sell them.
Good all-rounder, but that version seems a bit pricey and would be interesting to compare it with the Renault Clio E-tech which is of similar size and performance but a lot cheaper. Enjoy this kind of bread and butter road test, regardless of the means of propulsion!
Nice as a city car, grocery getter. Perhaps. To bad we in North America probably never get it. People get upset with gasoline at $4.50 a gallon for Shell premium.
I don't think it's a good looking car but how you say it's reasonable value at nearly £30000 for a small city car is beyond me. I think you need a reality check though I appreciate that this is your livelyhood and you need the support of the manufacturers. Haveing driven e- CVT cars I can say it would drive me insane listening to the crazy revving each time you put your foot down.
I don’t dictate the market. It am comparing with other cars out there. It is a crazy world we live in but £22-29k is about the range for this type and quality of car. I don’t ’support the manufacturers’ I say it as I see it. Look back at my videos on eCVT and you will see I’m not a huge fan of the noise but appreciate the good job it does.
One word INFLATION.your money as been devalued substantially over the last few years.Toyota offer better value than most manufacturers given their warranty.
I quite like the look of the current Yaris, but I've never understood why Toyota don't offer it with the option of a manual gearbox in the UK. You can get one in a lot of places in mainland europe, so it can't be an emissions thing, and you can get them in Japan too so it can't be a RHD thing either. Bizarre.
Lovely looking car but that’s far to much money, top of the range Clio hybrid similar power if not a bit more is a lot cheaper, having said that mother has a pre facelift Yaris and it seems to be more economical on mileage . Great review as always
I really don`t get why manufacturers of smaller cars have almost all gone to 5 door only? it may just be the angle of your camera but to me it looks as if the B pillar is very much hindering your view to your right, something that with a 3 door car would be greatly improved by bigger front doors, perhaps they should have based it on the 3 door GR shell??

Speak with a dealer. PCP and HP are standard finance options. Also, with PCP the end payment (GFV/ballon payment) can be re-financed
Another enjoyable video. We had old Yaris from 2003 where legroom was poor and I’m 6’3”. Think I might fit in that one better. 🙂👍
Good choice!
Pretty little car!
I really find these prices car companies are asking are shocking I see many people talk about £25000 for a car I know many people could never afford with the cost of living .I'm lucky for the cars I have but I feel sorry for the average working person too have a home car and a life at the prices car company's want
Nice car! Toyota have made 10m Yaris's.....or is it Yari??
😂😂😂
Nice little car pp😊i would get one for my wife 😅
City or town run about. 🙂
I had one for a week. Very good on fuel. And enough room for 6ft plus.
Yep 👍
Is this faster on B-road than mk1 GR Yaris?
Definitely not 😂
They could have put a small spacer in for the screen to angle it correctly for the UK market.
The u.s is missing out this would be perfect for a first car
Im thinking of buying this as my first im in denmark its like 20000€
thank you for the video
You're welcome
Nice looking car but whats that annoying bonging noise?
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. My favourite Yaris Trim 😊
Mine too!
I like the exterior styling of these but If that screen is pointing the wrong way that would be a deal breaker for me. How annoying.
Nice as a city car, grocery getter. Perhaps. To bad we in North America probably never get it.
People get upset with gasoline at $4.50 a gallon for Shell premium.
It is quite big. That's what my ex said. But that was when I drove a Mk1 Ford Escort.
Typical for a successful TH-camr🤔
I don’t dictate the market. It am comparing with other cars out there. It is a crazy world we live in but £22-29k is about the range for this type and quality of car. I don’t ’support the manufacturers’ I say it as I see it. Look back at my videos on eCVT and you will see I’m not a huge fan of the noise but appreciate the good job it does.
What is that supposed to mean 🤷♂️
One word INFLATION.your money as been devalued substantially over the last few years.Toyota offer better value than most manufacturers given their warranty.
I quite like the look of the current Yaris, but I've never understood why Toyota don't offer it with the option of a manual gearbox in the UK. You can get one in a lot of places in mainland europe, so it can't be an emissions thing, and you can get them in Japan too so it can't be a RHD thing either. Bizarre.
Wonderful car ....
Yes indeed!
If the GR Yaris is a homologation special, where are the homologation specials of the other cars competing in WRC? 🤔
What is the point of this car? When you can get the full fat GR? And the new one coming very soon!!!
How tall are you ??
6’3” 👍
I like it.
Can the speed limit bleep/alarm be turned off? so annoying
Yes but needs to be done each time you get in the car 😢
@@PetrolPed wow, that's annoying, thanks for your help.
Looks like a cracking little City run around. Toyota's and cracking cars, just not massively exciting unless you go for the sports models.
Lovely looking car but that’s far to much money, top of the range Clio hybrid similar power if not a bit more is a lot cheaper, having said that mother has a pre facelift Yaris and it seems to be more economical on mileage
Outside design is up there but the dash is outdated in my opinion.
How do you charge it if you can't plug it in?
The car charges the battery from the engine and regen brakes as you go along 👍
