this is one of the best squash matches i have ever seen .. highly entertaining,. And great respects for Amr Shabana. . the man is a legend ! My favourite player of all times.
and a special shout out to PSA squash tv for the incrediblly good coverage. i also feel the lighting and color combination used in this match made it easier to follow than a number of other tournaments, atleast for video audience. should be used more often.
@@mayankaggarwal2979 I don't know why this colour scheme isn't the default for all tournaments, it's perfect. Add to that this amazing match and this is as good as squash gets
If you ever decide to go for it, I have a piece of advice for you. In the beginning when your shot lacks the power, it seems pretty dull and boring and you may wanna give up. Don't ! Wait until you've developed enough power in your shot. Then it becomes as exciting as you watch :)
I took my 12 yr old son to watch this at Queens club, London. I`ve seen a lot of live squash over the years and this was up there with the best, great atmosphere, very professional set up and decent organisation. Managed to get Mo baggy`s autograph for my lad , and of course the pink court was a success. Very theatrical. Shame its not been there since .
What an incredible power match. Takes an incredible amount of mental and physical effort to play at the almost the same pace throughout the 5 games. There will never be an Amr Shabana nor a Greg Gaultier ever again.
Like many, I have also come back to watch this year after year. I have to point out that commentators kept on getting it wrong several times & their under-estimation of Shabana's stamina seemed never ending. Even in long rallies I think it was Amr who was controlling the pace & make Gaultier work hard. An incredible left handed player, already missed.
I have to agree. Both of these commentators were more than competent squash players themselves, so anything they have to say with regard to the game itself / how it's being played is worth hearing BUT their constant speculation as to how a player may be "thinking" or "feeling" is unhelpful and unnecessary verbiage which is often proved to be incorrect. Having watched quite a few of these full length matches now, I'm afraid that this appears to be their normal approach to commentating - my suggestion would be, if you haven't got anything relatively objective and informative to say, just keep quiet...we don't need your meaningless chatter.
This is such a close game. IMO, it ultimately came down to Gaultier's mental game. All those points he loses after arguing with the ref made such a big difference, especially in the mid-section of game 5. It's at that point that Gaultier seems to unravel.
Brilliant match thanks for posting. Shabana is a very accurate player, always been but I don't like it when he looses his temper and starts cursing after loosing a rally.
Some game. Golden generation of players when ya had these Matthews, ashour, shorbagy and a few others I'm not thinking of. Currently, I think current crop of players are not as good.
The lighting is just perfect. Best TV squash engineering I have seen.
agreed, really nice for watching
I never get tired of watching this match over and over. The more I watch the more I want to watch again and the more I learn
I have a shield from that championship .. do you know someone who's interested in buying it ?

Shabana is such a gentleman, which is missing in the current squash tour right now
One of the best games of squash I have ever seen.
Who ever has disliked this video is not from this planet.
Shabana's Heart here is what makes this match (in my humble opinion) one of the best finals.

Watching this in 2019 - it's still the best squash game ever
2014 ashour vs shorbagy?
Two of the most fabulous pairs of players of their time and most enjoyable to watch. Matthews wilstrop is another good pair of contemporaries.
my favorite match between 2 of my favorite 3 modern players....brilliant squash.
Magnificent match. Perfect court colour scheme too. Shabana was the most wonderful player to watch, poetry in motion
Never played squash in my life but i find this exciting to watch :3

I guess that if you have started that you’re still addicted? 😁
@@PedroNevesPlus There is not a better way to describe it than the word "addicted"
Excellent quality video with the 1080p option and also great to get a full match of such quality for free.
Absolutely amazing squash. Truly thrilling to watch.. And to think that squash isn't an olympic sport! What a crime.
2028 olympics…
Still one of the best matches in squash to watch......timeless
I keep watching parts of this one over and over again, love it !

Great match played in great spirit as the commentators said, cheers PSA! :)

Un gran partido, si alguno quiere jugar en Santiago de Compostela cuenta con mi apoyo para disfrutar de este gran deporte
What an absolute classic match!
Watching this in 2021 the best squash match every
What a gracious post-match interview by Gregory Gaultier.
This is such a close game. IMO, it ultimately came down to Gaultier's mental game. All those points he loses after arguing with the ref made such a big difference, especially in the mid-section of game 5. It's at that point that Gaultier seems to unravel.
Just fantastic squash
THANK U PSA :)
Amazing match
Quality play of squash in shabana.
An incredible match!!
this match was amazing. Shabr at his best.
love it man, this is awesome!!!!
very good, thanks
The best match ever seen........
This is definetly the best glass court in the world
Damn that's awesome
What a game!
Brilliant match thanks for posting. Shabana is a very accurate player, always been but I don't like it when he looses his temper and starts cursing after loosing a rally.
Thanks PSA
Christmas came early this year!
1:16 holy cow those gets
Shabana’s accuracy is unbelievable and invincible!
1:12:35 that's the most lets in a row I've ever seen

8 years ago. Wow
...EPIC MATCH...
Can't believe these 2 giants retired.
1:25:18 is that peter nicol peakin at the camera???
Mr Shabana❤️
53:12 This ball was out!!!
Wow, so good.
Any one know the hiphop song during intermissions?
How is the call at the end of that second mega-rally around 37:40 a let? Gaultier barely moves to the ball.
Can you also post the nicol david match?
고생하셨습니다 시청 잘했습니다
Why was it a let at at 37:55 ??
Why is it not stroke at 12:13?
I LOVE IT
What happened there on that long rally (second Game sha10 - gau 8)? Why was it interrupted?
Woooow!!!!!!
Some game. Golden generation of players when ya had these Matthews, ashour, shorbagy and a few others I'm not thinking of. Currently, I think current crop of players are not as good.
Does Shabana ever smile?
Yay!!!
why was 37:40 a let ball??
I think Gaultier may have clipped him in the backswing, thus affecting his shot but not being a stroke. hence a let
Ikr
1:15:40!
Why does it sound like they're playing with a loose banjo?
