I'm old enough to remember the 70s and 80s and this reminded me of the attritonal squash of that era - brilliant to watch. It brought to mind that oldie but a goodie - when would Jonah Barrington play a drop shot - when his oponent was wrong footed in the spectator viewing area 😉
1:22:35 best rallie of the tournament
@Chase Maddux yeah, I give a damn, you should be fined for invading her privacy
These matches are awesome! Thank you so much for uploading :)
Merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays!

This match is legendary. Unbelievable squash. Love to Joey B and Parkey, you guys make watching this game fun!
Wow! Matthew is an absolute monster of psychological toughness. Amazing. El Shorbagy is a true natural squash player, and very hard nosed as well, but Matthew was just massively inspiring and impressive here.
They both have quite a temper, but nick doesn’t let his get in the way of his game 😏
Matthew's resilience is extraordinarily examplary. Shorbagy becomes loose towards the 4th and 5th games usually
At 6-2 around 35:20, it looks like Shorbagy lines up to play the ball about two feet away from where the ball actually bounced. There looks to plenty of room to hit the ball and Matthew wasn’t blocking the front wall. It looks to me like the commentators were hoodwinked because they looked at where the player set up to play the ball rather than at where the ball was. I’ve seen this happen quite a lot. Perhaps the video refs are better at watching for this now.
One of the most aggressive matches ever. Love it.
beautiful squash
Classic match. Super physical. But watching it now, it shows how much Mo improved over the next few years. The Mo a few years later would have put a lot of those opportunities away with nicks and better touch at the front.
Loved Matthew’s forward court position. Just relentless. Solid length and width and very few mistakes.
This was a great game of squash! Matthew just kept pegging away for three and a half sets and finally got a couple of rallies in the 4th set where he made Shorbagy retreive a few hard ones. That changed the game completely and Matthew ended up winning it purely on attrition and endurance. What a player. RESPECT.
Wow… what a match !!
Fantastic match...
Thank you for this epic match !
Why is there no 720p option for this video?
More importantly, why haven't we seen any 60fps uploads from PSA?
QuotaChannel This video is from 2014 when we were still shooting in 720p, all new videos are uploaded in 1080p. As for 60fps almost all of the footage we shoot is also broadcast on TV so we need to use standard broadcast framerates. Hope this answers your questions
Ok, thank you. It's a shame about the frame rate. Hopefully TV will catch up soon!
The infamous Nick Matthew 'face scream' in Elshorbagy's face is at 53:10 ;)
LOL 34:16 the commentators.. HUGE DOOOBLAY!
Awesome Nick
Wow! Just Wow!
I have got nick Mathews signature
Cool! When did you get that?
+PSA SQUASHTV I got it at the Sheffield squash open. I didn't play my brother did because he is amazing at squash. He won it and nick gave the trophy to my brother. The end
Great match but I thought the commentary was one sided in favour of Elshorbaggy and completely against Nick Mathew.
Nick Mathew is the mark selby of squash.
17... Beat Matthew.. thats me next year aha turning 17
The fact that they commentators think both of these so called "double bounces" are "huge doubles" indicates to me that they aren't even watching the replay closely. Instead they have already decided in their heads. I realize this is only 480p, but there is no clear indication in either replay that the ball touches the floor before hitting the racquet. There just isn't.

Why do they wipe their hands on the wall?
Wiping the sweat off their hands so that they don't lose their grip on the racket.
PSA SQUASHTV it’s a big difference in pro level than amateur it’s anything they can do to get an advantage. Thanks for telling me
Also the routine helps to focus the players
Jack Seaward I’m still quite the amateur and my god is it annoying to have a sweaty and slippery squash racket. It actually makes a huge difference when your racket slips away in your hand while you’re making a shot
@@captainzork6109 use a lighter racket, doesn't slip as much as heavier ones

The commentators really amuse with them going on and on about 'shutting the opponent out'...............most of the time a player has simply played their shot and is not in the way of their opponent anyway..........useless commentary.
