We had the most laid-back Aussie for 8 years. The first three months, we wondered if he could bark, as he didn’t. That changed., but never annoying. Most lovable dog ever. Died last December of spleen problems. He was my life. Miss Rodeo every day.
We had the great fortune to bring home two Aussie pups from the same litter. These sisters are magic with each other. And they burn off a ton of energy together!
We got two aussie pups, same dad, different mom, born 3 days apart, so they are kind of litter mates and they keep each going. They burn a lot of energy playing together...that is one reason why we got two. Our male is more chill then his half sister, but they both are pretty energetic.
Would so like to share stories. We have a 5 year old pure bred black tri Australian Shepherd and made decision to get a puppy last fall. We have two females. Love our girls so much! Your points in both dog videos are 100% our experience.
I have 2 Labradoodles and share 2 Malshis with an ex. Best thing I ever did was get a second dog. I'll never own 1 dog at a tine anymore. They are always there for each other
We are looking at picking up a aussie puppy to keep our border collie mix company. Our current dog is a playful 6 years old and still seems to get along really well with puppies, so we are hoping they become friends. We missed out on the puppy phase with our current dog as we adopted him at 3yo, so we are excited to have our first puppy experience. Just hoping our current dog isn't too old to appreciate having a puppy around.
Best of luck with your new pupper if you get one! I think 6 is still a good age to play and set a good example for the younger one :-) The puppy phase is a LOT but so fun!!!
Oh wth lol I’m watching this cuz I got a Australian Shepherd five days ago but I know that I’m going to get another one soon because I don’t like just having one dog I like the dog having a friend the whole time it’s on my TH-cam lol it even she has the same eyes as your dog😩❤️
I’m about to get our second mini Ausie to add to our 1 and 4 month year old mini Ausie same mommy and daddy. This video really helped 😊 such loving dogs
Would you say you need a large yard/garden to have two dogs? Or as long as you meet their Exercise needs it would be okay? Also would you say you found it harder to walk Two dogs if sometimes you’re alone?
hi there we have a 10 month old aussie shepard already and are thinking about bringing home a german shepard pup, and advice on how to first introduce them or how to avoid the pup being dependant on our aussie?
Thanks for this video! I found it helpful since we have a 10-month old mini Aussie and are thinking about getting another one next summer. Any research or advice you received about what the gender of the 2nd dog should be compared to the first one?
I can only go off of what my breeder told me but she said typically males get along best together, a male and a female would be fine as long as you watch them when the female is in heat for the first time, and that two females tend to be the most problematic together lol. I have two males so I can only speak from that experience and they get along great!
Hey Owen! Honestly you just have to rely on outside places for burning energy. We go on daily walks and run around in a park next to my apartment a few times a day, too. So although I think I got quickly judged when I said I lived in an apartment in my previous videos, it actually works pretty well for my situation since I have such quick access to trails, parks, and other dogs to play with. If you live in a colder climate and need to stay indoors more, I would still push for as many walks outside as you can but you can burn energy by training indoors, playing "hide and go seek" (my oldest dog Keed literally loves hunting us in circles around my kitchen island I swear hahahaha), and puzzle games that will stimulate their brains.
Is that a big problem if the other dog in the family is untrained? I am currently preparing to get an aussie but I still live with my parents. The untrained dog is my mother’s dog. I will be training my dog on my own so I want to make sure that my puppy wont get any bad behaviors from the other dog. The dog is already 7 years old and probably wont be trained again. I want to learn from the mistakes of training my mother did. If the puppy learns behaviors without me noticing in time it will make everything harder. Anyways thank you for everything you explained in this video and your other ones. They help me prepare alot. :)
Hi! I think as long as you are diligent with training your puppy you will be fine. I would make sure you train your puppy without the other dog/distractions around. My advice for when your puppy comes home: -try to crate train as soon a you bring home your puppy so he/she gets used to having their own safe space -keep puppy in the crate during the times that you can't pay attention to it 100% of the time (like if you need to do the dishes, just put puppy in their crate for 15 min while you do that chore, and then get them out again when you won't be distracted. this will reduce unseen accidents and the puppy wandering/getting into trouble) -crate training teaches your puppy structure (crate time=rest time), and will give you more control over when your mom's dog and puppy hang out because you will be there to supervise
Hi i just got my aussie and tis a sweety way mote calm then my border colie i also have 6 other dogs a german shepherd a malinois a rottweiler a pitbull a papillon a chihahua and a jackrussel . my aussie is best buds with my jackrussel
Adorable! I am getting an Australian Shepherd and know we'll be wanting a 2nd dog 1-2yrs afterwards. Ive heard you are suppose to get the opposite gender when getting a 2nd dog but really want two boys. Have you had any issues bringing in a second boy?
I'm super thankful to be able to say that I have had 0 issues having two males! The breeder that I got my youngest from actually only had something to say about having two females.. mostly that she didn't recommend it. Not sure the specifics as to why, I think she cited "drama" as a reason hahaha but from person experience 2 boys has been great!
Hmmmm, I have no experience with cats so I can't give an educated answer but I think it's all about how you introduce your puppy to the cats. They will need personal space and boundaries just like other animals so keep that in mind!
I have 7 dogs, no regrets at all, it's a big responsibility, but if someone is ready for more than one and thought about it twice before making decision then why not 😊 Iaugh sometimes saying that after 3rd dog I stopped counting 😁 You can see my fur babies in my videos

I was waiting for another video so much!!
Awh shoot!!! I appreciate that- I didn't think people would like my videos so much!
Do Australian Shepard do good in a town home? As long as we exercise them?
Thinking of getting a second dog - my first dog is currently 6 months and would be considering this once he’s 1 year
this video is just more reason for me to get a second dog😫thank you for sharing!!✨
It’s been almost a year since I’ve posted this and I can still say it was one of the best things we did!!😋💗
Thank you this helps x
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching Gabby!! (-:
I have a video idea....! Essentials you totally needed for your dogs!!
OMG yes!!!
hi there we have a 10 month old aussie shepard already and are thinking about bringing home a german shepard pup, and advice on how to first introduce them or how to avoid the pup being dependant on our aussie?
Also love your earrings!
Thank you so much!!
I shed aWot of hair! I can't imagine 2 of me in da house! Wot' of vacuming for my pawents!! I give dis video a 👍 and new Subscriber!
im debating either Australian Shepherd or Golden Retriever.. i love the Aussies colors.. what would you recommend?
Omg I looove goldens!!! Both are so soft and fluffy. I’m a sucker for red merles ❤️
Kinds depends on what you can offer them I’d say. Aussie’s are hyper whereas Golden’s are a lot calmer after a few months
Depends how much exercise you do
I'm thinking of getting a third Aussie Should I or not?

@@MeganStoughton has a person who has 2 female she is right a lot of drama and arguing but they do love each other
Please adopt from rescues. They often have rescues that may specialize in the breed you are looking for.
I also live in a one bedroom apartment and recently got an aussie, any tips for apartment living with Aussies?

I want to get a aussie but I'm worried about all of the health risk
I want either a mini Australian/American shepherd or Golden Retriever.
A mini Australian sounds like a good middle-ground between a maltipoo and golden but all are fun breeds for sure!
I own a mini aussie! They have same amount of energy and adorable factor as the standard but in a snack sized package!
I have 7 dogs, no regrets at all, it's a big responsibility, but if someone is ready for more than one and thought about it twice before making decision then why not 😊 Iaugh sometimes saying that after 3rd dog I stopped counting 😁 You can see my fur babies in my videos
Hahah omg squad goals!!! I'll check out your videos! That must be so fun
I'm thinking about getting an aussie for my belgian. I wish I could have 5 dogs
OMG thank you for making this! I am debating on getting a second Aussie!
You're so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!!
Does mosey sleep with keed in the same kennel?
"He listens really well, he has an e collar" I'd listen really well if not listening meant getting electrocuted
I can assure you it isn't the equivalent to getting electrocuted as I have tested it on myself, thanks for your concern though!
ecollars and shock collars are very different and ecollars can be an excellent, humane training tool when used correctly :)❤️
Poor Aussies in an appartment :(
