How are the Stella's holding up? Any of the Stella's factory build issues identified by Allan Hawk relating to the bail mechanism causing you issues yet??
I have 4 Stella's and 2 saltigas. They both are basically the same. For the big bull sharks get a Tiagra 80w.
The wobbling could’ve impacted the line counter! Love these videos the 130 Tiagra spooling with the hollow to hollow splice was extremely informative!

Hey Josh, make a trip over to Naples, FL sometime. Great for everything- freshwater, saltwater, brackish. PB bass 7-8lbs off a great secret golf course spot. PB sharks- 11ft hammer and 12ft tiger both from the beach! Would love to do some fishing with you and learn a few things so let me know!

I got a stella 18000hg Beautafull reel to use loaded up 50 pound braid for catching big Samson fish like big Amber jacks,
Shimano’s cast Best filled right to the edge. The spool is designed to do so

I think you had more bull buster on it than you think, his line counter was bouncing a whole lot bc of the wobble, so it probably didn’t count properly.
Should of had closer to 375-400yrds. Sweet reels !

Have you ever used Shimano Ocea Braid? You would probably fit a lot more of that on your reels because of how thin it is. I managed to fit an entire 300 metres of 22.7lb Ocea on a 2500 Stradic.
I had no clue a 20k Stella only held that much line, ignorantly I thought it would be like 700 plus
no you werent wrong. it's just he is using 100lb braid.
Looking forward to that amberjacks video, previous one was the coolest.

Stella- Pros: Drag smoothness, casting, plat service. Cons: Plastic parts, too much play, bail handle assembly problems, Inaccurate drag lbs, consistent servicing. Saltiga- Pros: Handle turn smoothness, durable/sturdier, sealing, line capacity. Cons: Customer service w/ mag sealing, exterior paint chips easily.
The 67kg wft is .39mm and the ballbuster is .55mm...

Machines dont put braid on tight enough (because theres no stretch) .Also it ignores the oscillation pattern of the reel which increases the probability of the line biting into itself and breaking off under heavy load. Many many times where I work I have to manually re spool reels with heavy braid that have had the line bite into itself and snap off when the drag was working under heavy load. Just because technology allows you to do something it doesnt nessercerilly mean its a good idea! Its what's known as a technology trap. The best way to fit line to the reel is to use the reel the way its intended. Use a heavy rubberised glove and wind it on by hand. Take your time and concentrate on maintaining extreme tension with the glove. Most busy stores wont take the time to do this for you hence the machine. It looks really proffessional and clever but the result can be anything but. And for people that have had their reels spooled this way and think I'm talking rubbish, I have a whole gallery of photos and video of reels brought to me with issues from machine spooling. Just last week I had a Saragosa brought into the store. "This line was put on with a machine wasnt it?" I said. "How did you know that" he said......... He brought me a case of beer 2 days later.
interesting . So better to get a line spooler and set tension and reel it on manually. What sort of tension is good to use for 40lb braid lets say on a Stella SW14k

These reels are way out of my price range but if I ever went to buy one I think I would get the saltiga exposition just cause the blue and stuff looks amazing but I am a shamano type of person
