Hey Yammie, I think it would be cool if you made a video about how MotoGP riders actually get to reach MotoGP. Maybe talk about the path they take and throw in a few rider stories! 🏍️
How they get into it? Racing chools and hundreds of thousands of dallars by the age of 10 rookie cups to moto 3 by the time your 16 born and bred into that stuff broski
The really FIRST thing that shocked me and moved me was what follows: I've always liked cars, bikes, trucks... If it had an engine, there will be people racing it and I loved it. The courage, the fearless people driving to the limit, the competition... There are common elements to all this Motorsports formats. And MotoGP is not less. Riders dragging elbows to the tarmac in every turn, fights wheel to wheel to the finish line, divebombs in every turn... The competition is fearless. HOWEVER, and this blew my mind, no matter how aggresive they are, how hard they go to win, when let's say The Rookie wins for the first time every single one goes to him to congratulate him. Everyone loves the competition but you can really feel the respect they have for each other. I'm not saying that if someone throws another one to the ground they don't get angry. Cause they do from time to time. But dude how many times I've watched them giving high fives while still riding to the pitlane after the race. How many hands given to the driver who fell down, how many taps on the shoulder and on the helmet to that guy who just win his first race. That feeling for me is Special in the sport. You can really see that no matter how hard they compete against each other, at the end of the day they are absolute motorbike's fans, they love and enjoy what they do and they find joy not only in winning but also in knowing there's a brother who will force them to to their best, every practice day, every sunday and still can give a hug to that driver. I respect that and I really love that. At the end of the day we all have in mind very much how dangerous it can be. So you compete, but you respect the safety of every single one around you. Man I love this sport.
Really glad to see you putting in so much effort into MotoGP this week. I swear to God no riders our age actually watch it. You should also give a plug too certain shadier ways of watching Moto GP that many of us have been using for years for free. Food for thought.

I got into MotoGP through video games. Always liked motorcycle games, never had an easy access to watching MotoGP (or WSBK for that matter) here where I live. Then after I got a bit older and I started playing MotoGP games from 13 onwards I managed to watch MotoGP races online on some dodgy streams or few hours after the race after downloading the race. Now for last two seasons I finally can afford to have VideoPass for MotoGP and that is the best way to watch MotoGP. All classes and sessions, all the shows other than races... MotoGP race weekend is a very filled weekend.
I’ve only seen one moto gp race in my life, and it was back in high school (2014) right before they stopped coming to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Was an amazing experience
Another way to learn about MotoGP is to watch the various movies dedicated to the sport. They are aged but worth the watch. Faster, Faster & Faster, Fastest, Hitting the Apex are all worth the watch.

I wish YN would have talked about Motoamerica. There are 8 different classes, they don't race on every circuit but are all very entertaining. It has everything, Junior Cup for kids as young as 14, King of the Baggers for Harley and Indian guys, Hooligans for people who like doing hood rat stuff with their friends, Build Train Race for an all female field of racers who also have to build their bikes, and so much more.
I wish my dad would watch this. He thinks his Burgman 650 is a real deal. Haha. But I can't knock him too hard. He will go head to head against harley boys.
You failed to mention the new documentary series by Prime, MotoGP Unlimited. Great inside look into the sport. The got rid of the terrible dub. It's watchable now.
Oh Yammie, you are so new to motorcycle racing. I've been watching MotoGP since the 500cc 2-stroke era. I remember how Ducati pioneered the transition to 4-stroke liter bikes. You missed an opportunity to mention two great documentaries. Faster (2003) and Fastest (2011). There is also Faster & Faster (2004) but that one is just ok. These awesome movies are an excellent starting point for someone getting into the sport. Have you seen them? If Netflix made a Ride to Survive MotoGP series it would make the sport popular in America.

I was always a huge fan of Rossi as a personality but I never got into Motogp until mid 2021. I'm now neck deep in it.
