The goat debate is not a debate for people who actually watch football. All these goals Messi keep scoring while he is not even a forward. He plays as a playmaker and still among the best goalscorers in history. Cristiano is one of the greats of all time but there was never or should I say never should have been a debate between them. It's just the world of football needs a talking point always and creates a "rivalry" when they are two completely different players with different skillsets. It was never any debate who is the goat. Based on solely on football, Messi is way ahead pf every football player that has ever played football. He is an anomaly and we are lucky to witness him play. Don't when will be the next time we'll see something like Messi.
First 3 years Ronaldo was a mid fielder , 11 years a winger ,If you watched football you'd know Messi played as a no.9 more matches than Cristiano , And yes I agree that It is not a debate because both together are no.1 with different style of playing. RESPECT.....

Some Ronaldo fans make this shit like we didn't watch him play at united. He was always a winger at man utd. And Messi played as false 9 which is a number 10 in a midfield diamond system, the role that KDB plays now for city. When Ronaldo went to Madrid he became an out an out forward and focused only in goalscoring. That's why there is no comparison between these two. Messi is by far the superior footballer.

Messi had the better team is the number 1 excuse for Ronaldo fans. Messi makes his teammates better while Ronaldo depends on his teammates. He offers nothing to his team when he's not scoring. Messi can run a game without scoring. We also saw both playing in weak teams, Messi still won Ballon D'or, Golden Boots, Playmaker awards, international MVP while Ronaldo won nothing. There's basically nothing Ronaldo is better at except penalties 🤷🏾♂️. With opinions its the other way around. 90 % of the players and coaches who prefer Ronaldo are somehow related to him.
You fail to mention Ronaldo has had a far superior international career (given the expectations) with a worse national pool of talent. I owe my love for football to these two and it drives me insane when people have to downplay one to praise the other. If you think Messi is better, fine - but it isn’t as clear cut as you’re making it out to be.
@@FreePartey far superior because he scored more goals?! He played over 30 games against 100+ ranked nations, Messi only 6. He never was the best player of any tournament he played. Messi won the Golden Ball in 4 different tournaments (3x Copa, 1x WC), multiple topscorer awards, top assister in 5 tournaments. It is a clear cut when you're not only counting goals because theres nothing else that can be compared.

I feel the fair debate between Messi and CR7 is that they have equal goat status for what they have done in football and the moments they have given us. Both iconic players who led to many of us falling in love with the beautiful game. But if you are talking about pure footballing ability, it is not close. Messi is the most talented player ever in so many aspects, and sees the game in a way no one has before. Both are absolute goats and I respect anyone’s preference, but Messi is the better player.
So Ronaldo and Messi both havent won the World Cup but this is the last wc we see them in.....sadly....The Argentenian team captained by Messi recently won Copa America title i.e. the world cup like trophy of south american nations...and the finalissima i.e.the competetion between copa america winners and UEFA Euros winners (i.e. worl cup like trophy for european nations).argentina played against Euros winnes Italy and won.So messi who hadnt won with argentina until 2021 won two important trophies within a year..
The World Cup from 08 that you mention Messi won, I believe that was an Under 21 World Cup (for players under the age of 21), so it doesn't count as an actual World Cup.

Messi is the best player in the planet is the number one and Ronaldo is the number two.
Fifa is the governing around the world. They are broken up into federations which are basically continents and the surrounding territories. Each Federation countries have Club leagues (like MLS, Liga MX etc) .. Europe (EPL, La Liga, Serie A) then they have their national teams. USA, MEX, POR, ENG, etc.. similar to the olympics for basketball.. except they have football in olympics as well.
Each federation has Cups which are tournaments on the side.. For clubs, the top club winners of their leagues play in a champions league the next season that runs congruently. Winners of those all play in a Club world cup for best club team in the world (well at least by tournament) Europe has the strongest leagues and best clubs so their champions league is the one everyone knows, as is the most popular of all of them and the most competitive. For national team, they do the same thing as club with the exception of World Cup. Which is the biggest sporting event in the world, only second to the olympics which it might have even passed at this point. That is every 4 years (we the US qualified and it starts this fall).. You need to qualify to become eligible to play in the tournament. So you need to finish top 3 in your federation if I'm not mistaken.. Anyways, just think of it as two seperate things. Club and International and then broken down into subcategories.
Glad you guys are checking them out. There is a huge list of great players. I'm sure a lot of people will name them.. If you're interested here domestically, MLS is pretty good, it's not the same level as the European leagues but it is quite good and competitive. You can check out some videos on that as well as all the National Players that play in Europe from the US, I'm not sure what part of the country you're from but you likely have a pretty awesome club nearby to support in MLS and the games are epic. Definitely check out all the great international superstars though.. Enjoy the journey.
